There seems to be a lot of pessimism surrounding this match.
However I am much more confident, I feel if we play really well, like we have been recently, we could come away with a draw.

We are obviously going to field a reserve team, lose 2-1, and be on the FA cup highlights reel for the next 15 years.

By the time we play Woking we could have more than 30 points. I would like to see us play a strong team and take no risks. I think we have a brilliant opportunity to go far in the FA cup this year and we have shown that we can compete with any of the bigger boys in the league and lets be honest with the greatest respect to Woking who have done so well to get this far the draw has been very kind for us.

So long as they stop showing that bloody Ronnie Radford goal, I wouldn't mind.....

I completely agree with you and expect us to beat Woking, however with one league place worth something like 1 million pounds, the powers that be may well think that a higher league place is worth more than a cup run!

Its more or less the F.A. Cup is for the glory and the Fans, league places are for the coffers and accountants!

  10. Our league cup team only just got cheated by the ref out of beating a pretty strong spurs team so should be able to take on Woking.

There's no reason to risk players to injury or unnecessarily fatigue them for a game that our fringe team should firstly win comfortably and secondly give them a good run out and an opportunity to impress for a place in the first 11.

It both keeps the first 11 fresh and the fringe players happy and encouraged to get game time.

Disagree with this, winning the cup would make us a ‘bigger’ team in the eyes of the nation and the world and the long term gains would outweigh the short term finances

I still remember last year at Southampton. Wet, horrible performance, conceded early. Day to forget.

Best part of the game was Holebas offering one of our mouthing fans over for a punch up.

Hopefully this season we can go further and perhaps really push. We’ve been finalists and semi finalists. It’s about time we won the damn thing.

I hate this concept of needing to give the deadbeats game time. Sure do some minor rotation and give Wilmot and Chalobah a run out but the likes Prodl, Okaka, Britos and Zeegelaar do not need game time. They need to be removed from the club as soon as possible. And please can we not give Gomes a game for sentimental value. We don't need to keep anyone fresh. We are not in Europe. If we get knocked out of the cup we'll end up with 6 games in 8 weeks during Feb/March.

  16. I think deadbeats is pretty harsh, but I'm talking about the fringe players.

As you say, Wilmot and Chalobah plus Quina, Cleverley, Gray, Masina, Sema, Success, and anyone ready to come back from injury needing gametime should get a starting place.

Those not getting regular first team games but are on the periphery.

Sure that's fine. But no need to make XI changes. Just don't get the deadwood anywhere near the team out of some misplaced duty to give them a chance.

Quite right. Man U are massive not because of what they're doing now but of what they did in the past. One Cup win wouldn't put us up there, but it would be a start

Will Hughes (sorry !) , Gray and others be fit ?

Maybe not a game for GD but then we will need to score to win ..

I’m also struck by how reminiscent their sideline stand is of our former, but now retired East Stand.

I might make them my second team after they batter us on Saturday.

    Morning all...

The general consensus from Woking fans is that we will get beaten very comfortably by you guys and of course we should/probably will. But what’s the harm in some dreaming? I’m 99% certain it won’t happen but it has in the past!

For me I was buzzing when we got you in the draw, but I would have been had we got most of the premier league teams, I don’t care about the result on Sunday, for us, a team with around a 350k playing budget for the year this one game could change us. 150k for just the tv money alone is fantastic. Getting a premier league side at home guaranteed TV, a sell out and numerous sponsorship opportunities. Plus all the publicity leading up to the game.

I for one can’t wait, it’s the biggest game for me as a fan, I missed the glory days of West Brom, Everton and Coventry so this is a huge moment for a lot of our fan base. We are a non league side, some, like me don’t have second teams, we spent a lot of money over the years following Woking home and away and this is our little reward.

I hope you guys send down a strongish team, let us take the lead, have our 15 minutes of fun and then you can go ahead and ruin it for us.

For those of you lucky/unlucky enough to get tickets I hope you enjoy the day and any questions on where to park, drink etc I’m happy to help

Been injured for a while now but was fantastic before that when he got into the team, had a little run in it and was fantastic considering he was 1 of 3 in a midfield with an average age of about 19! One to look out for in the future I’m sure of it, and I hope he can get back involved asap

Some parking/pub intelligence would be very welcome. We're in the Tennis Club Terrace. Is that behind the goal?

Can I be the first to say - you will undoubtedly get some people replying to you ‘tongue-in-cheek’ belittling your club. It’s happens to most visiting fans on here but it’s light hearted in its nature and not to be taken seriously. A quick skim over our pre-game threads will show you as much...

    Welcome!

21-0 to us. But you’ll have us rattled for 85 mins before the floodgates open.

You will be in the uncovered terrace along the side of the pitch.

Parking will entirely depend on what time you get there, if you are very early then you may get a spot directly opposite in the Leisure center but that only has 3 hours free and although I usually get away without a ticket I have a feeling they will have arseholes working to stop us parking there on the day. There is street parking around, should be plenty but obviously the later you are the further out you will have to park/walk.

IMO you may as well park in the town centre. Only a 15/20 minute walk to the ground and there are pubs en route. You have an o’neils and spoons in the town center as well as other pubs. On the walk to the ground there is a Sovereigns which is the nicest place to drink imo. There is a snooker club at the away turnstiles but that only holds around 40/50 people int he bar so doubt they will be allowing fans in.

Nearer the ground there is the Kingfield arms, about a 5 minute walk away. I’ve personally never been in there and from what I’ve heard I won’t be changing my mind...
