MOTD2 just ended the show with a Watford only montage of our ‘cracking’ goals so far this season. Put a smile on my face

The difference this season is the flair.

In the first 3 seasons up we have been hanging on in quiet desperation at certain points.

    As if we were interlopers.

Several of the performances this time have been ravishing.

It’s a top half mentality. We’re going to attack our way up.

    Unfortunately not.

That man has more brio than the chap who said he was a eunuch but actually isn’t & has just been given the passcode into the harem.

In my mind I’ve digitalised the harem security system.

I think that at the end of this season the vote for goal of the season will be immensely difficult. A lot of goals this season have been far better than the winners of previous seasons.

  9. Just watched MOTD1 and all seemed quite fair.

Pretty much dismissed Warnock's complaints about the ref as silly, seemed to back up Troy's tackle, and very complimentary about us.

Motd2 not on iPlayer yet so will have to wait for this montage of which ye all have spoken of til tomorrow.

I didn't see the show but is that the full montage? If so, they've not put Pereyra's goal against Wolves in there which is head and shoulders the best goal we've scored this season IMO.

Nice bit on us from Football 365's Winner and Losers column ( we are in the Winners...)

    Watford’s recruitment
Gone is the simple transfer strategy of signing players almost exclusively from Udinese or Granada. In its place is one of the best recruitment and scouting models across Europe. Vicarage Road has become the perfect home for ambitious players looking to make that step up to an elite club or young players desperate to impress.

Domingos Quina and Ken Sema, signed from West Ham and Ostersund in the summer, are the latest examples. Gerard Deulofeu looks reborn, Kiko Femenia was a steal, Roberto Pereyra started the season on fire and Abdoulaye Doucoure really could make the grade higher up the league. Those six players were signed for approximately the same amount as the profit Watford made on Richarlison.

.and one on Colin in the Losers section:

    Neil Warnock’s refereeing moans
Warnock is right that Troy Deeney should have been booked. The pitch was skiddy and the striker had every right to go for the ball, but Deeney could probably have got out of Neil Etheridge’s way. But for Warnock to use that incident to have a rant about Cardiff City being given an inexperienced referee that he referred to as a “Sunday trainee” is a disgrace. How else are referees supposed to get Premier League experience other than by refereeing in the Premier League?

There is an issue with a lack of referees in general, fuelled by it being a rough ride to progress through non-league football where conditions can be difficult, abuse can be abhorrent and pay is almost nothing. Those who rise to the very top do so in spite of the circumstances, not because of them. So to be used as a deflection tactic by an experienced manager just because you are raw is unacceptable. There is a culture of abuse and mockery that surrounds refereeing, and it is doing more than anything else to lower the general standards.

For what it’s worth, Andy Madley oversaw the game perfectly well. And Warnock should do better than lambast him.

Yeah that was the whole montage, and you’re right about that goal. Says something that didn’t even make the cut!

    I didn’t see Endean’s vs Liverpool.

What was the statute of limitations for the montage?

  18. 10 goals plus Pereyra's v Wolves and, I'd argue, Deeney's v Burnley (thanks to Douc's sublime pass).
    Spoiled we are.

Another example of the blatant bias and focus of the BBC and big ears after the Chelsea game.

"One thing to clear up before we move on - - young Hudson-Odoi came off and it looked a bit cruel by Sarri but he had a hamstring injury so all is well"

NOTHING about Kabasele and the obviously serious injury he sustained and taken to hospital in an oxygen mask which TV had on camera - possibly a broken rib and punctured lung.

As long as the young Chelski players feelings aren't hurt that's OK isn't it Lineker, you overpaid, self satisfied, smug to$$er.

But Kabasele plays for Watford NOT Chelsea.

There are only 6 teams in England, the rest just make up the numbers.

I've 'liked' your post because of your accurate portrayal of Gary Lineker.

Thank you HB, I'm desperately trying to maximise my 'likes' count to achieve the next forum award and get out of the reserves.

(And I thought I'd hold back on what I really think about smirking Gary) :)

The whole programme seemed a bit rushed last night - as if they couldn't really be bothered to have a chat about the games.

I don't think that's quite fair. The Chelsea substitution got booed because their fans thought Sarri was undermining the confidence of a young player, so an explanation was needed. It would have been nice to have had an update on Kaba - IF ONE WAS AVAILABLE - but the two issues weren't comparable.

Nevertheless, another terrific post from Sahorn - almost good enough to be likeable.

That’s a very reasonable explanation u-b, but if big ears was in the Xmas spirit he could have said something like:
‘the injury to Kabasele didn’t look good so we all hope he is OK’

And as it’s the season of goodwill I have given a like for your post* to add to your enormous collection.
    Merry Xmas.
