It's happening now. Good players but a very limited style of play.

Fair play for the early assessment. I remember in August/September the talk of Wolves in the media was as if they were nailed on for 7th place!

They will probably finish above us though, helped by silly spending in January, by both clubs, but in very different ways.

Other than Moutinho, Neves and maybe Patricio at a push, nobody in the media has ever actually heard of any of the players they’ve signed in the last two seasons. It’s just accepted wisdom that they’re really good and they’ll finish in the top half without breaking a sweat.

It’s the same as people thinking Iheanacho is good because he cost loads of money and came from Manchester City, none of the MOTD pundits, podcasters or maintstream journalists have ever watched him play. Before you know it Alan Shearer is talking about his explosive pace and Wolves’ mindblowing pressing game. Load of old ********.

Well done for your early assessment Diamond.

(And now we know you think Gracia is a top manager as we were one of the first teams that picked them off quite easily).

    I certainly do think that.

Surely everyone had heard of Patricio - he was in goal in Portugal's Euro winning campaign.

Their manager Nuno was pretty decent steal at the time, too.

I think they will finish mid-table, however their manager has done a bit of a Quique and failed to rotate. I can see them burning out and having a boring, but safe, end to the season.

Draw at Man U and Arsenal and with Man City at home but lose to us guys, Huddersfield and Brighton ..

Maybe they just get more motivated for playing the top teams ?

They haven't scored that many goals all season so once you get ahead there is a chance you"ll win!

Just another average mid to bottom table club.

Typical Newcastle - start winning just as the fans think about protesting and demanding new players in January.

Mark Hughes bemoaning VAR this time as it ruled out a goal for Southampton due to a handball in their league cup tie at Leicester.

Well that is what the system will bring - its own inconsistencies and frustrations.

Really hope Southampton go down. 2 weeks ago they are screaming from the rooftops for VAR and now they are complaining about it. Idiots.

I find considerable satisfaction over Wolves not doing as well as many on here and in The media predicted

The perceived wisdom before the start of the season was:
    SUPERAGENT
    great manager
    Have bought lots of players
    Best team in the championship
    SUPERAGENT
Therefore WILL EASILY DO WELL and probably give Man City a run for their money

my suggestion that buying a bunch of players didn’t make a team. And this was especially true of the prem. was met with more cries of SUPERAGENT - PORTUGAL - LOTS OF STAR PLAYERS.

To get up from the champ you usually need to score a bucket of goals.

To stay up in the prem it’s all about defense

Cardiff doing well at coming from behind in their home games ..

  18. Teams should literally pay me to bet against them. Only I could lose money on wolves losing at 1-0 up!!!

Wolves starting to look very average after being hyped more than any other promoted team I can remember.

I've always thought 'coming from behind' to be a dangerous phrase.

    Bestially erotic.

Yet Merson et al have people coming from behind all over the shop at 4.15pm on a Sat afternoon.

Dyche going on about “eye of the tiger”. I’m expecting Apollo Creed to be unveiled as new assistant manager before next game.

Arsenal would be title contenders if the game was just 45 minutes old .

Or maybe it was Spurs just being Spurs .

Palace got a zero rating for food hygiene at their training ground - probably not much better at Selhurst Park!

Decent set of results for us elsewhere today.

Shame it's come down to having to say that.

Almost typical that West Ham are hitting a rich vain of form before we play them in two weeks.

It's mid table scrap malarkey at it's finest.

Sounds like the Fulham lad got a red card for pretty much doing the same sort of tackle as Capoue with Rahsford in this case making a right meal of it - just after the ref had given Fulham a penalty too..

Bournemouth moaning about an offside goal - fair enough but they did get away with one in the week - weren't playing a top side though.

  28. There's no shame in saying a "decent set of results for us elsewhere today" because we want to finish in the top 10.

Shoot me now but "shows how far we've come!".

Good to see strong refereeing in the Arsenal game. 3 yellow cards for their diving cheating. Meanwhile the Fulham bloke was sent off for no reason at all other than Rashford being a *******.

Spurs have apparently said they'll tell us w/c 7 January whether their home game against us will be the opening game for their new stadium. They've already decided their game on 13 January against Man Utd is off to Wembley.

Bit of a joke that after the Milton Keynes debacle earlier in the season they're again being allowed by the authorities to muck us around with stadium choices. Three weeks notice is stupid.

They're the media darlings, they can do as they please.
If they requested we play at Aggie Weston's Doss House on The Balls Pond Road the PL would agree.
My money is on having to guess the venue!

  34. And I bet they won't want their first match there to be against a tinpot club like us.

Just Arsenal left of the big boys for them to play at "home"
