Working Men's Clubs? In Woking? Did you mean Woking Men's Clubs? I think they're called Golf Clubs 'around them parts'.
Sorry Stevo - just seen your post. Great minds, etc.

I saw us play away at Hillingdon Borough in the FA Cup, 1976 2nd round!

This game will be won in midfield as I can only imagine the defence’s and frontline’s are of a similar standard.

    Don't be a doughnut ;)
I always thought Woking was one of the more affluent towns in the country. Silicon Valley Uk type thing. Maybe it's a bit like Aylesbury though.. surrounded by a lot of wealth but with a pretty large working class population because of London overspill. The Aylesbury doughnut.

If we lose do we have to play non-league football?

Great draw. Hopefully we will be on telly. This is a proper FA Cup draw.

I would play all our strikers so they can get their confidence up and find the bleedin net again.

Go 4-2-4 the front 4 being Penaranda, Deeney, Gray and Success. With Wilmot and Quina in the middle. Don’t really care about the back 4.

Did you go in the Nags Head before the game

IIRC quite a few chelsea at the game-unfortunately for them so was a coachload from the Golden Cockrel in Bennetts End

Cracking draw and easy to get to from Watford by bus.

What odds for them winning must be worth a punt

Have you been to Woking? There are no working men's clubs there.

    Isn’t Paul Weller from Woking?

He pretended to be working class, but is now a bit of a doughnut.

A work colleague who grew up in the town said it was the kind of place you wanted to get out of.

The surrounding villages, of course, make Gerrards Cross look like a favela.

    They all were.

I’ve never warmed to Weller. He started wearing pro cycling kits as a look in the 80s.

Well I never thought of that one.
Help required, if any of you work on the railway and know the answer.
I have booked a return ticket to Bournemouth. Have booked Travelodge for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Jan, so returning on the Friday.
The train stops at Woking on the way into Waterloo.
This is the big question, would I be allowed to break my journey and stop off at Woking?
My ticket is a return within one month.

Very tough draw. Woking are in great form and have already taken the SW Herts scalps of St Albans and Hemel this season. They will be looking for the clean sweep.

Interestingly, they were due to be at home to Hemel on the weekend of round 3. Slight upgrade of opponent for them.

Ok folks, I got my answer from Trainline, and I can break the journey, so no need to reply.
Just hoping I can get a ticket for this one, depends how many of us the club puts into group A+.
Recon since 2014 I have been to just over 50 away games, so might have a fair chance.

    We're installed as 11th favourites, around 40-1.

I would need to consult the actuarial tables but I have the sense that it is now or never for many on the forum.

Had a quick pop onto their forum. Nearly all comments have 'winnable' or 'one we can win' or 'good chance to win this' etc.

Obviously a confident side at the moment!

Well, they did win at Swindon, and will probably be expecting us to field a 2nd. 11, so perhaps their optimism is not that preposterous.

Let’s just admit it. We are a sh*t draw every year for any club. Even non league part timers. This will never ever change.

I do enjoy them having their heads in their hands when we come out of the hat though. It is quite amusing.

I have followed Woking closely this season as firstly they are only 15 minutes from my house and secondly they're in Slough's league (who I watch more than Watford...). They are a very very useful team for National League South level, on setup, stadium and quality of players they should really be in the National League and I fully expect them to be promoted this season.

This will be a tough game (good old banana skin territory!), I do not expect a walkover, and wouldn't be surprised if it went to a replay. On paper we of course should be winning this, but it's the FA Cup and Woking have form in the past for upsets. I would say our best bet is to play a team with a spine of Foster, Cathcart, Hughes/Cleverley and Deeney for this one. There is no way the likes of Deulofeu, Pereyra etc.. will fancy this or even be up for it. It would be very interesting to see the Woking defence cope with Deeney and Success though. Who knows, this may even be the game for Gray to 'find his level'.
