FA Cup 3rd Round - Who do we want?

Me - Barnet, Oxford, Woking, home or away.

Doubt it matters because we will roll out the likes of Gomes, Sema and Okaka and get turned over.

 

At best we have a lengthy spell in the Premier League, with next to no chance of getting into the top 4 and around 0.00001% of winning the league. Yes I don't want us to get relegated, but football is about special moments, not just plodding along. So I want any team outside of the top 6 and for the club / manager / team to take it seriously and go and try and get as far into the competition as possible....with the aim of doing the massively difficult task of maybe actually winning a trophy!

Winning the FA cup would raise our profile in this country and around the world. I hope those at the top of the club pass that information onto the manager. It needs to be taken seriously by a club like ours. It's still incredibly hard to get anywhere near winning it, but it's still a competition that has a glimmer of a realistic chance.

These days with our current lofty status, ground moves and promotion/relegation between the FL and NL, it's very difficult to stop your "92" tally from going backwards. All those visits to Gay Meadow in the 70's and early 80's count for nothing now!

 

If anyone remembers the cup game against Millwall the other year the last team I want is that lot up the road. I would be happy with a championship team away, Rotherham perhaps Ipswich.

If it panned out the way we’d want it to, then beating L@@@@ , at their place, on TV, with a dominant display and some cracking goals would be perfect.

We have literally never been in a more superior position over them.

They are the only team I want in the draw. It’s been too long.

We all know we would lose. They would be highly motivated in a no-lose position. We would probably field a weakened team with half an eye on the more important next prem game. Gray would score 3 own goals.

 

I actually think he would field a strong team. Motivated or not, they are League 1. We are Premier League. We should roll over them and I’d be confident we would.

Gray to score a last minute winner and instantly £18m is repaid.

 

Please can we stop all this nonsense of Bournemouth being any sort of rival.

 

I've seen us lose far too often to that lot to have any kind of confidence despite the obvious gap in quality especially if it was at that excuse for a ground.

 

Just like being at home to them in the cup in 2002 when we were a league above them ?

From someone who has been a fan for about a decade, to me Bournemouth are significantly bigger rivals than Luton.

I only know that the latter still exist, as I see occasional posts on here when they lose. They're absolute nobodies. You could tell me that in the 70s, Harrow Borough and Watford used to murder each other. I'd probably believe you, but it would mean absolutely nothing to me. Why would I be annoyed at a bunch of overweight, part-time team of plumbers and handymen, having a low quality kick-about for a laugh at the weekend?

Aside from the absolute loathing I feel when I am very occasionally forced to use the car park they call an airport; or hear the birthplace of an assailant of a recent terrorist attack; or reading the origins of the latest immigrant-hating neo-Nazi group, I barely register the town's existence.
