You aren't getting compensation. We may get a fine, but Watford have waived their rights to any compensation by leaving the arbitration process.

A points deduction will more than adequate compensation as far as I’m concerned. We’ll see what happens, but one thing is certain, Everton will not get away with what they did.

Here's the Everton statement after today's punishment.

"We are extremely disappointed with some of the practices we have found which are not in line with our values and not acceptable to Everton Football Club.

"We have already commenced a full review of our academy operations and are committed to ensuring that issues like this do not happen again at Everton."

Roughly translated it means, "We are extremely disappointed that some of our practises, which are in line with the values of Everton Football Club, have been found out.

We have already commenced a full review of our academy operations and if we can pin this on an employee, we will do and throw him under the bus"

We shall see. It's not impossible, but would be unprecedented - points deductions have only been seen in the last 25 years or so for financial issues. Even West Ham didn't get a points deduction over the Tevez affair. I think it's v unlikely, but you never know.

Of course, there's always the possibility that The FA decide there's not enough evidence to support the allegation - in which case I reckon I'd probably have to leave the forum here as I'll probably be about as welcome as a Tory on Merseyside

The only punishment severe enough would be for you to have to post daily in our Politics section.

Some in there make Degsy sound like Jacob Rees Mogg.

I used to live opposite Degsy about 10 years ago, coincidentally when I moved back here from Herts.

I no longer live there :)

Richalison linked with a 120m move to the Spanish giants - have we got a sell on clause?

    Nobody seems to know

I'd be a bit annoyed if we had agreed to one, given we paid seemingly well over the odds at the time we bought him

FWIW - he isn't close to being ready for that level yet. Just because he's scored a few goals for Brazil doesn't mean he's a Barca/Real Madrid standard player. He might be one day, but he's a little way off that just yet.

That was fantastic, but that's put another £10m on Origi's value. Pickford, what a plumb.

We should have taken Origi in the summer. Big upgrade on Deeney and Gray

I would love it if Liverpool beat them.....Oh wait a minute they did :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

It's our turn next week me thinks

PS Lets see if we can get that Origi guy in January; Imagine him up front alongside Success, the opposing CB's would **** themselves :D

Much as I hate Liverpool I nearly laughed up a lung when I saw that result. Must be horrendous being so insignificant in comparison to your biggest rivals.

Dreadful from Pickford. England's number 1 - it's like Joe Hart all over again :(

Bit harsh like, first thing he's done wrong in ages for us. Still, that doesn't make it hurt any less

First time in as long as I can remember that we've gone there and genuinely matched them and then that happens at that time of the game

    Sickening but oh so typical

Fair play to Marco. Ever the professional, even when visibly reeling from a last gasp derby defeat live on telly he still finds time to fulfil his sponsorship responsibilites:

First thing he did in the interview was flourish his huge watch.

Actually, maybe the watch is normal sized & he is just a tiny little man.

Wonderful to see Spurs taking Everton apart. 3-1 up after being a goal down and it’s still only the first half.

Just checked their league record. It currently stands as W 6 D 6 L 6. Sounds very appropriate.
