He was only expected to be out for a matter of weeks but then our medical team got hold of him.......... Or Maybe he’s a union member and he’s been made fully aware of his entitlement.
I still can't quite comprehend how **** our medical team is... If they're going to lie to us, they should do it where we'd have forgotten about it. Saying he's back for next week, week after week looks totally tinpot. If they said he will be out for the next two months, we can accept that and move on with the team we know is currently available.
I wouldn't blame the medical team now. The club have got its act together after an appalling 18 months, which they even admitted to. How many injuries have we had this season? Look at the high intensity game we play, and not one player has been injured. Deulofeu's injury was carried over from last season, he had an op and now he's slowly coming back. So far, the medical team are doing a much better job.
I agree with Hb1 on that. apart from Deeney’s broken toes, we’ve been lucky so far this season (touch wood). Just Gerry and Cleverly out. It’s just fun to keep joking about the medical dept
I agree with HB1. But in saying that, it’s still worrying that they literally cannot put any timeframe at all on Del’s return.
Surely it's Gracia who is refusing to put a timeframe on it? He's the spokesman and no doubt also influences the urgency/risk taking around return schedules. If he's happy to wait, they presumably wait. Plus, there's sometimes a difference between the way his comments come across on paper and how they actually sound when you watch the press conference vid.
Where have I suggested any different to what you say? I remember before our first game, he said he would be out for ‘1 day, 2, 3...maybe 5 days’. Weeks later and he’s still saying that. So what I’m saying is that I agree with HB1 and others that we are doing better with injuries. But the situation with Deulofeu is a worry given that they don’t seem to be any further forward with it. It’s not a criticism, it’s a viewpoint.
I took your 'they' to mean the medical team. If it didn't mean that then fair enough. I'm just saying Javi's the front man, his English isn't great and he tends to blather on a bit in answering questions. That said, he said last week that the next step was Deulofeu joining the first team training and he said today he had, so that's slightly further forward.
They clearly don't have a clue. If they did don't you think they'd tell Gracia. His return has been imminent since the start if the season. It seems far away as ever.
Looking forward to next seeing Delefeou play ... which will be at his testimonial at The Vic in 2023 when his contract expires .
Looks like he's back Gerard DeulofeuVerified account @gerardeulofeu Very close https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...ord-winger-teases-potential-return-to-action/
Yes, very close now. Closer and closer. Only a week or so away now. Seven short days-ish. We're saying about a week. Probably. For training at the very least.
Well he might as well done really. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...many-things-after-bournemouth-defeat/?ref=rss Felt a bit for him - probably was hoping to come on and make a strong impact but basically the last 15 minutes was an easy run around to build fitness really.
Unfortunately, no one passed to him on the left for 10 mins so he had to wander off to the right. He took the last corner. The only non Holebas set piece?
GD is a fantastic player, but is he a TEAM player, I am not so sure? I think he can be a bit greedy, which would not be so bad if his finishing was better. He should probably have scored a hat-trick in our last two matches, but his finishing has not been good enough and his passing to others who may have been in a better position to score has also been sadly lacking. Hence my thoughts that he is not a team player despite his undoubted talents, and maybe Gracia should consider dropping him if he does not sort this out.
Massive flop. Doesnt want to be here at all. Has no respect for the club, his teammates or (understandably) his manager. What a waste of a vast salary.
He is going to DESTROY Cité tonight, just wait. After the slating from Saturday, tonight's post match thread will be people oiling up their cranks and fapping over his masterclass of attacking supremacy, wondering whether we've got a £100m player on our hands.
We all knew he’d be crap. If anything, missing the first few weeks helped him out, because we all started dreaming of that Chelsea game, forgetting that he was utterly useless in every other minute before predictably getting hurt. I remember when we were excited to get him back, even though deep down we knew he’d be rubbish. It’s the hope that kills you.
How many one on ones has he missed? - for such a talented and skilful player Geri seems to have no conviction when facing the goalkeeper clean through.
Compared to Gray he’s a master finisher Isn’t Peneranda rumoured to be the best finisher at the club?
Agree entirely. Like the fact he takes on his defender, relatively quick/technical feet & usually makes the space, but the downside to his game is the final end product. Seen it time & time again. Hence why he was surplus at Barca. If he did have that he would be playing for the top 6 or one of the other top teams in Europe. In the meantime he is, at the time of writing, top 7 anyway, so he can't complain. Reason I say this is unfortunately I do get the sense he likes a little sulk & sometimes the body language might suggest he believes he's better than Watford due to his Barca days, hope I'm wrong about that.
When he’s crap, he’s monumentally crap, but when he’s good, he’s really bloody good. Despite the really good moments being few and far between, they also give you hope that one day he’ll put things together and become a consistent terror. We all know he won’t ever achieve this, but those fleeting glimpses of divine talent are enough to keep you coming back to the well time and time again. He’s crap, he’s petulant and he’s a bit of a *****. But he’s our *****.
