Only in the fact that they share (d) a liking for a drink or two.
I never saw Mr M without a G&T in hand,Ive always wondered if Paul Whitehouse based a little of Sir Rowly Birkin QC on Dan!

Muff 1-0 up against United already. They're on fire at the moment.

Spurs did their best to throw that Wolves game away !!

Mind you they should have been pegged back earlier but for a very poor officiating decision from the assistant .

He was superb yesterday. Ran the Brighton defence ragged

Thats why I'm calling him a little ****, when the silva snake left our club Richarlison just downed tools, threw his toys out of his pram and did not score another goal all season.

However now he's back with his chum he's knocking them in for fun

His second goal was especially impressive, not something I thought he was even capable of based on his time here. Fair play to the kid.

Seems to be playing in a more central role - wonder if he will last out the season?

Against teams who sit deep, he's been fairly ineffective as the central striker. In away games or against teams who come to Goodison and don't park the bus, he's really good in that role. Drags centre backs all over the place. He got Wes Morgan sent off at Leicester a few weeks ago and he gave Duffy and Dunk (in particular) a nightmare yesterday.

Didn't Brighton come to defend? - usually that is their tactic and they do it very well.

Good to see Coleman back doing well - one of the best attacking full backs in the league.

I suspect Richarlison would get a bit frustrated if marked tightly but he will always work hard which is good.

    Strangely enough, no.

They were much higher than you'd expect. Bit suicidal in all honesty. 6 or 7 wouldn't have flattered us yesterday (much like the Newcastle vs Watford game if MOTD highlights are anything to go off).

Coleman is a top player. Can't cross to save his life (and never has been able to), but a top full back nonetheless. Has struggled for form this season but easy to forget that he still isn't in peak physical condition yet after the injuries of the last 18 months.

Sad to see Slav losing his job on tv.

    Ambiguous.

He might very rapidly be launching his tv career.

How much say did Slav on transfers.

It was certainly a dog’s breakfast for them.

Didn’t the owner’s son run that department?

Shame we won’t be able to welcome the Joka back to the Vic.
Hoggy gets him the sack with a MOTM performance.
It shows just spending money isn’t the answer. £100m and bottom of the league.

Having been in the PL for a few seasons it’s striking how far Watford now are ahead of newly promoted teams in terms of squad quality. Surviving the first season or so is clearly crucial and we should reserve a ‘thank you’ for QSF’s part in that and remember what a good decision it was on Pozzo’s part to appoint him.

  22. Approx £100m as Sahorn said above.

Pretty sure we spent a lot less in our first preseason and since. Not sure who holds the purse strings and decision making but they've clearly signed some right dogs.

Schurle for one. Don't remember him being all that good last time he was here to be honest, though maybe my memory deceives me.

Mawson isn't even making the starting eleven after all that hype. Not sure if he's been injured but was on the bench tonight.

Edit: Google tells me Mawson went to Fulham on the back of knee surgery but is taking a lot longer than expected to return. So nothing so far for £20m!!!

Regardless of transfers they look poor at both ends of the pitch, but they have the worst defence in the whole of Europe.

We’ve seen with our own limited defenders that the right coach can still get them to defend well (QSF and Javi) but Joka clearly cannot do this at the top level.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but it was very much a lucky escape when we didn’t try and keep him on.

Slav’s departure would free up Mitrovic.

Not a fox in the box nor a tank on the flank. More a tank in the box.

Mawson played against us and was rubbish - got taken off at half time .

They haven't had a settle back line or goalkeepers all season .

Unfortunately Joka is toast. Would have loved to have seen him back at the Vic. My mind has played that one out a few times. Maybe another time. Doubt he had any say on where the money was spent.

  27. Need to start looking over our shoulders now. Both Newcastle and Huddersfield winning cuts our points from relegation down to 13.

    Worrying times.

That is why FIFA are cutting the number of loan players one club can send out at a time .

I counted Chelsea having 40 out on loan, Everton with 14 and the others fewer than 10.

When they introduce limits I think it ought to be done in age groups, i.e. maximum of 8 for those under 21, maximum of 4 for those 21 and over for outfield players, and a maximum of 2 goalkeepers irrespective of age.

That way the vast majority of clubs won't be affected.

Sums it up a bit than its not really headline story - Man U being held at home.

Least we don't lose too much ground on one of our mid-table rivals.

Mourinho seems confident of making top 4 if they give him another half a billion to spend in the winter.

So much for the football world creaming over this brilliant Wolves side better known as Portugal B.
Hoggy from bottom of the table Huddersfield has just helped them to another 0-2 home defeat.
Maybe they’re not as good as everyone seems to think.
