    Ha!

Unless Sala is a good defender, though, he might not be the priority.

Looking forward to seeing how Dilly Dang Dilly Dong sets up Fulham. If they survive you have to rate him.

Read on HTC Pizza shops in Fulham are delighted with this appointment, so it could happen.

Should put paid to the argument that Gino shouldnt have sacked Joka when QSF became available.

Shame, still have lot of time for the fella but losing 7 on the trot in the PL is usually fatal.

Unless Ranieri fails to improve results, in which case it's down to the players not the coach

If Fulham sign Vardy and he decides to stop playing for Ranieri again , then he ll get the sack.

We didn’t sack Joka but we definitely didn’t want to keep him. I liked Joka, but let’s be completely honest he was handed a fantastic squad that was way too good for the championship, it was always difficult to judge too much on his promotion with us.

We did see enough evidence of his gung-ho ways though. Fantastic, effective and exciting in the championship, suicide in the premier league.

Yes I know he didn’t pick the players that Fulham bought, but the fact that even in his last few games he was still rotating his keepers and his defenders tells it’s own story. He was out of his depth and not confident in his own philosophy.

Pizza shops in Fulham are called Pizzarias.

He did so well to get them up.

I think giving him a full season wouldn’t of hurt, they have some good players but I guess if they are not playing his way or have lost faith in his vision it’s fair in that respect.

Still personally sad to see him go as he did amazing with us in our promotion season. Be great to see him get the Everton job this season after Snakey gets his head turned by Man Utd.

Get a club promoted from the Championship is not as difficult as making them competitive enough to remain in the Premier League. Ultimately Fulham spent more than Cardiff and are worse off so far this season. The coaching staff have to carry the can for that. Fulham have a better squad today than they had last May, but the team has been poor.

As history emerges from the fog of current affairs, Quique’s achievement begins to look hugely impressive.

Just imagine his reputation if we’d turned up vs Palarse & the second half season sulk had been avoided.

    The New Sheriff, indeed.

I wanted him to have a go with us. It may of been different than Fulham. We were very attacking under him in the Championship, but then again that sort of philosophy for a newly promoted team can get you spanked unless you have great players.

QSF did well thinking from the back and we were quite lucky Iggy and Deeney found their shooting boots so quickly. Could Joka have kelt us up as well as QSF did? We’ll never know. But perhaps Joka needs to find a club in the Championship that will allow him to set his standards and beliefs in. I doubt very much AlFiad had his best interests at heart.

His first season 94-95 finishing 7th with Kevin Phillips and Craig Ramage wasn't too bad (even Lee Nogan scored a few). But his second with all the injuries was a disaster.

Roeder's first season was 93/94, which was mostly dreadful until he brought in Foster, Bailey and Mooney near the end to save us from relegation.

The early 90's are a blur of utter rubbish and entirely forgetful. I can honestly not remember the order the managers came in. It all started to look rosier again towards the end of the 95/96 season

79/80. Didn't see promotion from for div 4 or 3. First full season was 80/81 when we finished 9th(?) in the old div 2

    That’s pretty good.

At a similar age, I experienced the Furphy surge but then, as Vic suggested, the wilderness years before GT.

No need for you to seek solace in the New Romantics.

That's like starting a Harlen Corben book at chapter 7. The first 2 promotions were brilliant as so unexpected. I'm about a decade older and started my viewing at the perfect spot, about 5 games into GT tenure, just before it took off....
