Anybody who wishes to watch Ibiza and, quite possibly, Kingsley Fobi play this weekend, it's being shown live on the YouTube.
    Here's the page;

Tonight, away to Grenoble, Mamadou Mbaye failed to feature for Greek MILF* Helen Sparta's former club, Troyes.
Even without the help of the most beautiful woman in the world or the most elusive player on WFC's books, Troyes came away with a 2-0 win. Hurrah! Next up are Valenciennes. I always thought they were Spanish! Then again, for ages I believed Strasbourg were German and Milton Keynes Dons an April fools joke that never stopped.

Saturday. Named by the Romans Sāturni diēs (Saturn's Day) or in Maori, Rahoroi. This means 'Washing-day' so if you haven't already, go get your biggy smalls and stick them on a boil wash.

Serbian Super Liga side FK Vozdovac were away to Zemun with both teams slumming it in the relegation half of the table. Zemun won 2-1.
Future loanee Filip Stuparevic wasn't involved for Vozdovac at all so spent the day shopping on-line at jholebas.com

Fortuna Dusseldorf returned to action in Germany's Bundesliga today at home to Wolfsberg, this after last weeks 7-1 tonking at the hands of Eintracht Frankfurt.
I'm not sure where this is at the ground but do you think many English sides have slogans in German to motivate the players? Maybe the players didn't understand it because they lost again. The lesson is When In Germany, Sprich Deutsch, Ja?

    Dusseldorf tunnel.jpeg

Dodi Lukebakio started as a wide midfield/forward on the right. A penalty after 41 minutes gave Wolfsburg the lead at half-time. 73 minutes in, the Dusseldorf skipper shouted 'ANCHORS AWAY!' as Wolfsburg scored their second and Fortuna remained 20,000 leagues at the foot of the table. Lukebakio was one of two players substituted 4 minutes later. A third goal came with 10 minutes to go. Full-time, 3-0 and 38000+ D*sseldorfions(?!) left the ground with tumbleweed crossing their paths, a shrill wind blowing and the last post playing as their season shrunk like a salted snail before their eyes.

Elsewhere in the Bundesliga a young Englander called Jadon Sancho scored 2 goals today to go with his many assists so far this season for Dortmund.

In League 1 of Blighty the brave boys of Watford were on call for Bristol Rovers (Alex Jakubiak), Sunderland (Jerome Sinclair) and Wycombe Wanderers (Randell Williams).

Jakubiak was sub for Rovers at Barnsley & the Yorkshire side lead 1-0 at half-time. After 64 minutes Rovers made a triple substitution. Jakubiak stayed sat on the bench and took a sip of soup from his flask, dejection setting in. The score stayed 1-0 to the Barnsley boys at full time & they sit 4th in the league while Rovers languish in 20th.

Sinclair started for Sunderland at home to Southend. The hosts took the lead on 29 minutes through Honeyman. Half-time 1-0. They increased their lead after 53 through Maguire from distance. Sinclair came off with about 20 to go. Aiden McGeady scored the third & final goal after 80 as Sunderland stay 3rd in the table. Southend sit comfortably mid table in 11th.
One notable mention for Jerome on Sunderlands twitter feed; https://twitter.com/SunderlandAFC/status/1056187864508178432

Williams once again missed out totally as Wycombe took on Walsall at the Bescot Stadium. Walsall 1-0 at the break and 2-0 after 52 minutes. An own goal after 80 by the home side made it 2-1 but Wycombe were politeness personified as they returned the gesture 4 minutes later. 3-1. Fed up with all the OG's, Samuel of Wycombe scored at the correct end in time added on after a penalty was saved. 3-2 was the final score and Wanderers sit 4pts above relegation in 15th while todays victors are just outside the play-offs in 9th.

Daniel Bachmann of Kilmarnock welcomed Hamilton Accies to a confusingly named Rugby Park. Football or egg-chasing, make the signs clearer for Chrissakes!
Such were his efforts in his greetings, he was too exhausted to even make the bench and sat out proceedings completely for the afternoon.
On 44 minutes 2nd placed Kilmarnock equalised after falling behind 10 minutes earlier. 1-1 at half-time. The Accies had a player sent off in second half injury time but no more goals came so the game finished as it stood after 45 minutes.

Mirandes hosted Tudelano in Group 2 of Segunda Division B with Matheus Aias starting up front and he had a chance after 6 minutes but shot straight at the keeper. Another chance came his way on the stroke of half-time but the translation tells me 'the Chilean that was lost licking the right.' Hit the right post, maybe? The keeper saved another shot right after the break from Aias but he was on target with, well, I'll let the Mirandes people describe the 47th minute strike... 'GOOOOOL! Matheus Aias head pike and plug in the goal.' Quite. 10 minutes later our Chilean head piking plugger was substituted. 2-0 on 75 minutes with a boring 'Attentive to the bad left of the defence and pushes the net' by Ernest Ohemeng. Tudelano had a player dismissed after 87 minutes before Funky Claudio Medina scored the 3rd for Mirandes with this obvious description, 'It pushes the reject of the failure. GOOOOOOL!' 3-0 at the end and Mirandes will finish the weekend in the top 3.

In LaLiga 2 Mallorca played Las Palmas at home and Pervis Estupinan took his customary place on the bench. Maybe another defender was needed though because Mallorca quickly found themselves 0-2 down, 14 minutes gone. 1-2 after 44 minutes and 2-2 after 45! The equaliser described as 'Tie Stoichkov after a sack of equine'. WHAT?? Half-time. The goals dried up in the 2nd-half and Pervis entered the field of play on 75 minutes. Hurrah! Then left again on 88. Boo! 2-2 with Mallorca currently in 6th and Las Palmas 5th before the weekend programme is completed.

Segunda Division B side Teruel had home advantage over Peralada in Group 3. Juan Camilo Becerra was taken out of the starting line up this week and bottom of the table Peralada scored the only goal of the game in the 8th minute. JCB came on midway through the 2nd-half and missed two glorious chances. The first an air kick as the ball came across him at knee height and the second a mis-placed free header from the corner of the 6 yard box. Oops. Teruel sit two places above the play-off relegation spot.

Also in Group 3, League leaders Hercules' Jaime Alvarado made the bench away to Lleida. Hercules took the lead on the stroke of half-time with a bit of violence thrown in for good measure. 'Goooollllll by Álvaro Pérez. Head Mark and beat Pau Torres.' Poor old Torres, sounds like he was used like a Piñata! Alvarado came on in the 72nd minute but not a lot seems to have happened in this game at all. 1-0 to Hercules in the end and they'll stay top over the weekend having now won seven of their ten games. Vamos Hercules!

Definitely 1 game (Ibiza), possibly 2, streaming live today from Spain involving clubs with Watford loan players.

FC Talavera versus UD Ibiza at 11am - Kingsley Fobi occasionally turns out for Ibiza.

El Atlético Levante 'B' versus SD Ejea at 4pm - Matheus Santana rarely plays for Ejea, but you never know.

Here are the highlights from Saturdays game between Mirandes & Tudelano.

    Matheus Aias features as the #9 in the red shirt from;
40secs with a turn and shot.
1min 35secs with an overhead kick.
    1min 40secs with a headed goal.

Sunday. It's finally turned up, an hour late like the tardy layabout we all know it is. I'll be contacting the council about this behaviour.
Meanwhile, here's some action from the 11am kick-offs today.

Spain and LaLiga. Getafe v. Betis. 11th v. 13th. This is why we love football. Two mid-table sides battling it out in a game no one outside of each clubs province could give two hoots about, except Sheffield Wednesday supporters. Bloody owls.
Dimitri Foulquier was on an astonishing run of 1 consecutive game where he'd scored for El Geta, remarkable, and he started from the off today. Unsurprisingly, a dull goalless 1st-half ensued. The spectators slumber was disturbed on the hour though as two moments of excitement broke out. Getafe scored (Molina) before Foulquier extended his scoring sequence to two games with a fine solo goal 2 minutes later - 62 ' | GOOOOOOOOL the @GetafeCF!!!!, DIMITRIIIIII brand @Foulquier_22 after a great individual play. Nice. And that was that really. Foulquier completed 90 minutes and Getafe sit comfortably in the upper half of the table. Job done.

Gimnastic and Real Oviedo battled it out in LaLiga 2. Nastic, bottom of the table, desperately needed the points and Luis Suarez (not that one) started for the home side. Not content with that, Suarez went on to score his second league goal of the season! Get in! A left-footed finish and it's 1-0 to the Nastic after 21 minutes. The WFC loanee seemed to have had a good 1st-half, scoring one as well as having a blocked shot before the keeper held on to another effort. Half-time, 1-0. After hitting the post and an hour in Suarez was withdrawn from the game and Oviedo scored almost immediately. 1-1. 82 minutes gone and the visitors go down to 10 men and Nastic clinch a win with a goal deep inside injury time. 2-1 the final score. Nastic move up to second from bottom.

Suarez features in the first two pieces of action. He's #26 in the red shirt.

Segunda Division B sides Cornella and Sabadell were in Group 3 action. Williams Velasquez didn't make the match day squad. Again. Tut. 0-0 at half-time but just 3 minutes into the 2nd-half Cornella took the lead. Without anyone really noticing, Sabadell equalised after 67 and the game ended 1-1. Sigh.

Down in Group 4 of the Segunda Divisions, Ibiza and Kingsley Fobi were away to Talavera in central Spain. Talavera is known for its pottery and Fobi's eyes glazed over as he was named on the bench for the 429th time this season. Watching this game live and you'd never have guessed Talavera were in the top 4 at the start of play. Ibiza scored a breakaway goal after 24 to take a half-time lead with the wobbly halfway line proving more of an obstacle than the home sides defence. No sign of Fobi directly after the break and rumours he'd set up a potters wheel behind the dugout haven't been confirmed (or denied!) so you never know. Just under an hour gone and despite Talavera now being the dominant side, a moment of defending like Fulham has let Ibiza score a 2nd. Still no Fobi but he's four goblets into a set of six on the wheel. Good work Kingsley. It's ended 2-0 to Ibiza who scored 2 goals on the break while defending doggedly against, it has to be said, a fairly toothless opponent. Fobi failed to take to the pitch.

Cucho and his band of Huesca hombres dusted themselves down to get much needed points away to 5th placed Sevilla. Yeah, good luck with that. Hernandez started up front on his own. First major incident of a game I didn't see was Sevilla having a goal chalked off via VAR on 21 minutes. PHEW! Second major incident was Sevilla having a goal chalked off via VAR on 25 minutes. PHEW! x2. 41 minutes in, Very high shot @cucho1099 from the outside of the area in a contra Bar*a. Knee over the ball son, head down & knee over the ball. 0-0 at half-time. 54 minutes, Hernandez hits the right hand upright - CUCHOOO!!! The Colombian had it in a great play of all @SDHuesca its auction to center of Miramón was skimming the right stick of the local goal. Vamos Cucho! Huesca keeper stops a point blank shot from Sevilla's Ben Yedder on the hour mark. Sevilla having all the possession but Huesca still getting chances, could go either way. There it is, Sevilla score. 1-0. 68 minutes and now Ferreiro hits the post for Huesca. 9 minutes later Sevilla score again. 2-0. Sad face. Just one shot on target from seven attempts for Huesca at this point. Cucho shot deflected after 81 and a minute later he's substituted. 90+4 GOOOOOL Huesca!! Pulido! Can they? It's not to be. 2-1 Sevilla and Huesca stay rooted to the foot of the table.

Did Obbi Oulare take to the field for Standard Liege against table-topping Genk? No, of course he didn't. 0-0 until the 84th minute when Genk scored only to be denied in injury time. 1-1.

In the other Jupiler Pro League game in Belgium, Sulayman Marreh had his broken nose in a sling for KAS Eupen's home game against Anderlecht where he started in the centre of a midfield three. Sven Kums was booked for the visitors very early on and Eupen took a 2-goal lead into half-time after a quick fire double on 26 & 31 minutes. Substitutions were made by both sides throughout the 2nd-half and 3rd placed Anderlecht pulled a goal back with 12 minutes left. Nervy times for the home side but the Pandas held on for a vital victory, just their 2nd in the last 6 league games. Marreh played the full 90 minutes.

Pin on yer rosette, it's Semi-Final day in Scotland! Tommie Hoban combed his hair especially as both Aberdeen and the newly named Steven Gerrard's Rangers took to the hallowed Hampden Park turf in the Betfred Cup. The word prestigious really didn't do it justice. Hoban, predictably, didn't play. Aberdeen put paid to an Old Firm final by beating SG Rangers 1-0 with a goal 11 minutes from time. Aberdonians across the world celebrated by hugging their pet granite slabs.

Segunda Division Group 3 pub side Ejea played Levante B. Ejea are such a small club their home ground, Municipal de Ejea, holds a scant 2900 spectators and is packed away inside a box after every home game.

    Estadio2.jpg

No need to get the allen keys out this weekend though because they travelled to Valencia for this fixture. Nobody's favourite player Matheus Santana had travelled down in his Mini Moke listening to Chris de Burgh on an 8-track for the whole 226 mile journey. Good times. Named as sub. Normal times. Didn't get on. Bad times. Lost 2-0. Worst of times. In a high tempo game with only fleeting moments of skill from either side, Levante proved to be the more clinical in front of goal scoring just before the break and midway through the 2nd-half. Just to make sure the rancid atmosphere remained for the whole journey back to Aragon, Argentinian Rosales got himself sent off in the final five minutes for Ejea. They remain in the relegation zone following this result.

I'm not offended or upset by any criticism but it seems however I post this stuff it isn't being received well so there seems little point me doing it really.

It's a dull old process collating the information and just as boring (for me) simply writing 'Player X did this' or 'Player Y didn't play' all of the time so by padding it out I was keeping the often daily posts a more interesting thing to do as much as anything.

But I do appreciate it won't be to everyone's liking and it seems as many find the way I do it just as tedious as I find writing it.

    Over to the next person...

Please don't stop. It's one of, if not the most interesting thread of the forum these days.

If you want to humour the lazy you could do a bold title i.e. Cucho - 66 mins 1 goal, and then continue with your usual prose. But many on here appreciate the hard work, especially the videos, and the more thorough understanding of how each player is getting on.

If a few people cannot be bothered to read something, that's on them. They can do their own research.

Your recent posts are much more to my taste than the graphic versions you'd come up with previously. I'll admit I still skim your posts for the key details, though I'm amazed at some of the detail you put in. Especially with some of the minor names who will never trouble the reserve team here - let alone grace the Premier League. Most of the loanees are a lost cause bumbling around at League 2/Conference level football. Maybe go easy on yourself and stick to good detail for the well-known names and just a simple list for the others? Whatever you choose (including stopping altogether) I doff my cap for your effort.

I can understand how much effort you put in - when I did this last season, there were fewer loanees and I wrote far less detail. If you wanted to cut down how long it takes, I wouldn't bother with all the reports about teams when the loanees don't play, just put the non-playing loanees as a list.

It used to take me about 45 mins on a Sunday evening after I'd saved a few Twitter searches, I suspect you might take several times longer to compile yours? Anyway, I was glad to see you'd picked up the mantle, so would be sorry to see you give up - but if you do decide to, thanks for all the time you've put into it.

Thank you to everyone who has said they enjoyed the posts I've been making. Just like any criticism or advice, it's welcomed and appreciated.

But as I said earlier, I no longer enjoy doing them. It's why they were becoming more rambling and less fact based, I was trying to make the process feel less of a job!

I like this side of the club but the whole process of tracking over 20 players & clubs (I suspect it'll be more come January) is time consuming and at times pretty boring. As is the writing out of posts. Maybe if I'd started out being less comprehensive I may have enjoyed it a bit more and been able to carry on for longer - but I didn't and as I said on the U23/Development thread recently, my time is being taken up elsewhere in life and I don't want to come to resent this site thinking I have to do something rather than wanting to do it.

I've also been quite outspoken in the past with regards to my mental health. One aspect of my personality is becoming obsessive about things I do, hence the level of detail I include - and you should see the amount of editing I do before I press 'Post Reply' ha!ha! So before it starts to become a problem for me it's probably best I step away.

Who do I hand this resignation letter into or shall I just pop it under the office door? :p

I was asked some time back (RookeryDad?) if there were any players out on loan who looked as if they may play for Watford. I was reminded of the question after seeing a rumour in France emerge today that PSG have Doucoure on their radar for the January window. The rumour may be rubbish but it's likely he'll go sooner rather than later in my opinion and it got me to thinking if we have a replacement already at the club.

With Chalobah and Cleverley injured, could they fill the big Frenchman's boots once they're fit? I'm not so sure they're like for like replacements but there is someone playing in Belgium right now who does look quite similar in the way he goes about his work. Step forward Sulayman Marreh.

He's been playing in Europe for several years now, 2013 to the end of last season with Spanish clubs (work permit negated, possibly?) and is currently having a good run of games for KAS Eupen under the stewardship of Claude Makelele in the Belgian top division, as well as regular starts for Gambia.

The video below is not new and doesn't contain any footage from this year, it's from his time at UD Almeria last season. He looks big & strong however, quick, has good ball control and his passing looks assured. At times the ball just pings off his right foot. He also manages to draw the opposition into making fouls while also seemingly able to read the game well. It is a highlights package so obviously any failings will be on the cutting room floor but I'd hope with another season playing regularly under a decent tutor in Makelele (a very pleasing name to type!) his game will have progressed to a level that consideration for a squad place at Vicarage Road will be made at the end of this season, work permit situation pending.

Teruel are in red, are the away side and JCB is in the #9 shirt.

And subbed after 14mins because of a heavy fall (shoulder) after challenging the keeper. Oh well.

Sunday, January 13th, against CD Leganés. It's a 7pm kick-off so I make that 7.37pm when he shins one off the right hand post.

In the meantime may I recommend listening to this song to ease the pain of time passing so slowly between strikes.
