If, and it’s a sizeable if, there is any truth in this, they are a desperate bunch continually looking for quick fixes to cover up their utter incompetence at running a football club. Javi would be borderline clinically insane to even consider the move.

I assume the club will at least have some sort of assurance that a WP will be granted, just not the timeframe of it. Admittedly I don’t know that and it’s just my opinion - but Brighton signed Percy Tau from a club in South Africa knowing they wouldn’t get a WP this season, but Hughton said he was excited to see him in training before getting him out on loan. Subsequently they found out he wasn’t even allowed to train and he was loaned out quicker than planned. So if Penaranda has been training, I would believe a WP or relevant passport is coming. I also think he’d have been loaned out again if there was any doubt.

 

Wow, fair play to him. I can only assume he’s got quite a lot stick about stuff he’s said in the past to come out and say that.

Probably crapped himself when he saw the shots of Elton so happy and realised he could be on the wrong side of a sudden change in people’s opinions about us.

 

Well deserved. I had my reservations about Javi last season but going in to this year I was happy to have some consistency. Turns out he offers a lot more than just that!

And great to see such a team spirit in those photos too.
