Thanks for the last few years but you've taken the club as far as you can.

I don't want them out. I remember when we were a yo-yo club. Including what is now league 1.

There are those on this forum who might have taken their comments on the Pozzos as far as they can. Maybe they should leave instead.

I want my season ticket money back.

Pozzos are fit to get a club out of the championship but are out of their depth in the premier league.

It's been a good run but they can't compete.

We sneer at the owners if other clubs, but with the possible exception of Cardiff and Huddersfield, they will finish above us.

The Pozzo way is the way if failure.

We can only refuse to pay market prices and get away with it for so long

    This is a wind-up isn't it ?
Yes we may well go down and had what most would see as a disappointing window but do you really think we will easily attract owners who will bankroll the club to guarantee prem survival and "take us to the next level"?
Personally I think we will struggle to stay up this and future seasons but that will be the case for all bar the top 6 or 7.
That said it was a very disappointing window and I don't know if they misjudged what was required to bring players in or are just over confident having never been in a relegation fight in this league so far.

I know moog isn't on a wind up as he has made it known on here for a while about his displeasure of the owners.

Was this window frustrating? Yes. Do we have a decent squad? Pretty much on par with a number of clubs in this league.

The Pozzos have never been mega rich, they have never claimed to be huge Watford fans, they are businessmen who know their football business. They are not going to destroy the club, they have been reasonably prudent and that will continue. We have no divine right to stay in this league and if we do go down I have every confidence that the club won't implode financially or fall further mainly because they have their investment to protect.

For all of the huge amount of money spent by other clubs this summer, many would be hit very hard if they were to go down, particularly if Fulham for example can't get their season going despite the number of signings. Also as had been said in another thread, failing to land or first or second choice is not an invitation to throw needless money at the likes of Arter, Livermore et al, who either wouldn't play every week or are no better than we already have; and then we would have to sell what we already have afterwards, of which there's no guarantee.

Although the Pozzo's are not above criticism, I think that in the grand scheme of things I'd rather a dull transfer window than to play roulette with the club's finances. We have seen the likes of Wague, Zeegelaar, Djedje, etc and they are a hindrance; I'd much rather we got in Wilmot and Quina as we did as these do fit the Pozzo model; therefore on that front the transfer window may not have been what people expected but it certainly wasn't a failure.

    Yes, Pozzos out!

And also kneecap all our players and sack all the management and officials. No exceptions. And burn down the stadium, then sell the land off for housing. Then finally resign from the league!

It sounds radical I know, but it's the only way to sort out the rotten-to-the-core state of our club.

Purge with fire. Tough love. Who else is with us?

I'm not Clive - though only because it's so poorly planned. If you sack everyone and burn everything down, who's going to be around to type the resignation letter to the league at the end?

They can’t be judged to be out of their depth in the PL until we get relegated from it. We won’t know if thag is a serious risk this season until about 10 games from now. In three seasons we’ve never been in the relegation zone, so far they’ve operated us as a successful PL club with plenty of room to spare.

All of this "so-called" ground improvement is irrelevant compared to the length of Holebas' contract.

Hopefully Usmanov will buy us in November when he gets his £500 million for the Arsenal shares. that should leave £200 million for the January 2019 window. The failure of the Pozzos to introduce Ribolla Gialla at the club bar this season really is the last straw. We need to replace the Italians with th Russian flair and integrity that Usmanov can bring to the club.

We made a pre-tax profit of, what, 1 million last season?

Not sure quite how much more people think we can reasonably spend than we already are.

EDIT: here are the figures per the Irish Times:

    https://www.irishtimes.com/sport/so...ue-club-by-club-financial-breakdown-1.3522585

WATFORD - Accounts for the year to 30 June 2017
    Turnover
    £124m (16th highest in league
Wages £75m (15th highest, 60per cent of turnover)
Profit before tax £3m (up from £2m in 2016)
Ownership Owned by Gino Pozzo via Hornets Management SA, registered in Luxembourg.
    Match day £8m
    Media and broadcasting £110m
    Commercial £5m
    Other income £2m
Net debt Not stated; £57m loans
    Interest payable £3m
    Highest-paid director Not stated
State they’re in Dreamland for Watford compared with where the club was before the multi-club-owning Pozzo family took over in 2012. The scouting and management system incorporated with other Pozzo clubs, particularly Udinese, has established Watford in the Premier League while the finances are stewarded steadily. Loans are relatively high, though, including £55m at 6per cent above base rates from the London finance house XXIII Capital and £20m from a source identified only as “a third party”.

16th highest turnover. That means as of when the article was written there were only 4 clubs in the league with less spending power than us, and we made 3 million profit PRE TAX. We're basically spending everything we can.

Plus I dare say there will be a few "group" costs burried there to make sure that the tax bill isn't too high.....
i've not bothered looking at the accounts but presumably the debt is largely owed to the Pozzos and Group companies which won't theoretically ever need to be repaid (it would be written off as part of the sale proceeds if and when they sell).
