Apparently at the training ground. He's not only a 'superfood', he is also a footballer we are trying to sign. According to SSN.
Lol, well on the plus side he's a central midfielder, who started off at Benfica and Chelsea's academies. He also made his West Ham debut as a sub at 16! On the negative side, he's still only 18 and hasn't played a minute of first team football since! He did well at the Euro u19s for Portugal, and supposedly (though I doubt it) Barca were sniffing around. In the last year of his current contract with West Ham, perhaps why the respective parties are open to a move. No doubt he'd have more chance of getting first-team minutes here in our current state. http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2018/06/28/report-west-ham-prepared-to-sell-domingos-quina-this-summer/ http://www.skysports.com/football/n...quire-about-west-ham-wonderkid-domingos-quina
Where did you see that? Surely as he's in the last year of his contract it will be a loan with some kind of transfer option, or a 1 year loan deal with us having already agreed with the player to sign him on a free at the end of the season). Also, another reason for it being a loan is that supposedly the paperwork for such deals is much quicker to process, so if this happened at the last minute it may have been the only option to get it over the line. One way or another, this signing definitely looks to be on the cards - Sky have said it's one of 10 'deal sheets' which have been submitted to the Premier League in order to be completed by the later time of 7pm. He's very highly rated, supposedly Ajax have also been scouting him, but he's clearly more one for the future (https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/ajax-eyeing-move-west-ham-12384360 ). No doubt we were helped in the signing by him being in the last year of his contract, but also West Ham today signing Carlos Sanchez. West Ham's transfer window has been insane.
Story now also on the Wobby: http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp...-of-west-ham-united-youngster-domingos-quina/ Supposedly he also got a few appearances in the League Cup last year.
So as I suspected "a season-long loan", with his contract expiring at the end of it, and so no doubt we'll have the option to sign him on a free immediately after should we wish.
Gino is taking his transfer business model from Watford Public Library. Ive heard if we don't return him on time they fine Gino 20p a day, and then send him a slightly stern letter after 6 months. Its only 10 years later when Gino discovers the aforementioned player loafing around the training ground with an out of date stamp on his leg, that he feels a bit guilty and donates him to charity in recompense.
Done deal. 4 year contract. https://www.watfordfc.com/teams/first-team/official-quina-makes-deadline-day-move
That would explain his beaming smile at making the move... https://twitter.com/WatfordFC/status/1027623123565326337
And this kid's going to do well for us, I think. U19 world cup winner with Portugal and rated as a "wonderkid" not so long ago. Arsenal reported to be interested last year, Barcelona rumoured to be interested this summer. Should be a fun one to watch develop. Bloody good goal here:
This signing and Gracia’s words today lead me to suggest that the club are beginning to think they may have bought a dud in Peneranda. Criticising his attitude already is hardly a good sign!
A decent write up about Quina here dated from 27/7/2018. http://www.skysports.com/football/n...y-are-barcelona-tracking-west-hams-youth-star
