The Government have given their backing to a bid for the 2030 World Cup. Might be a move to bring some positive PR news for them at a time of real crisis.. Do we have a chance given what happened for the 2018 bid and post Brexit relations with the rest of Europe? Be good to see but can see it going to South American as part of the century of the World Cup. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...n-government-theresa-may-latest-a8449991.html
It's been mooted since 2015.. but this is a joint UK bid not just England. http://www.espn.co.uk/football/engl...30-world-cup-says-fa-vice-chairman-david-gill
By the time the decision comes around, bucaneering Britain will be the envy of the world and everyone will be sucking up to us
For the sake of sentiment I would love to see this edition end up in Argentina-Uruguay and like Brazil 2014 one would have passionate crowds at every game in nations where football is a real strand of everyday life. It might be unlikely given that 2026 is in North America but CONACAF and CONMEBOL are separate federations.
