England's cricketers not exactly performing in the ODI match in Edinburgh. After being sent in, Scotland are currently 307/4 in the 44th over.
Was going say Bairstow is on fire but just got out. Strong team as well I think.. Give the Scots their day in the sun...maybe.
As somebody who followed the England cricket team to Australia a couple of times and watched us get spanked on both occasions, I loved that today!
So why don't we just play our one day game/players in test matches? Ok field placements may be different but this 1 day team seem to be able to bat well enough to cover that anyway.
class from bumble: he displayed the 2nd Division trophy won by Accrington and said to all the luton fans watching "this is what you could have won". pure class
Don't think they are the most popular around - due to their ground and fans mainly. And last season having some rather arrogant players/manager.
All going to pot again. We just can't play their spinner. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/cricket/43872804
Don't worry here come Stokes and Buttler. I notice Root was dropped from the T20 last week and gets a low score today...
Almost a 10 wicket haul for Maharaj. Somehow don't think our spinners will be as effective when we tour Sri Lanka! https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/scorecard/ECKO43562
Cricket is the sport which is closest to my heart. My dream is that Gino sets up WFCCC, cynically trawling the Windies junior leagues for susceptible talent. I must say, however, that there is a major & potentially existential problem with test matches. We know the result before the game starts. As just one example, SL are at a bit of a low ebb after the retirement of their golden generation, yet they are beasting SA. Intriguing to see how India fare over here. I almost hope they do very well as there are few fixtures where the away team (or group) is competitive.
Couldn’t this be addressed reasonably straightforwardly eg by changing the rules on the toss, as has been done in the County Championship? I’m a bit puzzled why this has happened anyway, it certainly wasn’t previously the case. You forget that we know the result of WFC away games before they take place as well.
Real captains innings from Kohli keeping India in the game . Then we lose Cook from the last ball of the game .
Yes - with the dropped catches and losing a wicket before the end. I read we haven't got past 400 all year in test matches!
Yes. Well on top but we manage to pull it out of the fire and get ourselves back to the comfort of underdogs in the 2 hrs before close of play.
