Wet spam and their taxi driver faithful go on about 1966 being the West Ham World Cup well:

England Manager Gareth Southgate born and brought up in Watford.
Ashley Young Watford youth product on Watford’s books for years before we took pity on Man Utd and sold him to them
Harry Kane almost gave football up until in 2004 Watford gave him two trials.
World in Motion rap by John Barnes - discovered by Watford

We took pity on Man United and sold Ashley to Villa?

Nice try and almost on equal footing with Captain and leader of the England team, A brilliant midfielder 10 years ahead of his time and Hatrick hero in the WC final - almost.

Trippier would never be the player he is without all those confidence boosting assists he's gained against us

Raheem Sterling was on our books a youth player, according to an unreliable, 1st hand account I heard. Can't find any confirmation anywhere of it,

Indeed, although is he fully aware of this?

Harry Kane was at Watford FC twice. In around 2004 as a youngster when Ashley Young broke into the team and the time he sat on the bench with Vardy whilst Chalobah was playing in May 2013

We sculpted Danny Rose into the player he is today.

Pickford wouldn't even be playing for England were it not for the false rumours linking him with us last summer.

And nobody should overlook Aidy Boothroyd's quiet but pivotal contribution in Russia.

David Baddiel went to Habs. Clearly something in the Herts water.

I wonder if Gino will collect the trophy for us.

Well, that didn't turn out too well for Belgium, glad Watford have gone black shorts again.

England will never get an easier chance to get to the final. Played Croatia and lost. Poor performance on the night. That is a shame.

The FA transport coordinator thanks you for your feedback. He'll keep it in mind next time he's sorting out bus transport.

Well done to them. Did a lot better than most expected and would of been great to get to the final. Young team with a lot of hunger.

They would of won with Deeney up front waving his arms about.

And if I remember right Kane played against us for Millwall whilst on loan there

Also, and I might be wrong on this, but he has possibly been back to Watford with his current club Totinham Hotspurs a couple of times since we got promoted.

Came off the bench on 12 May 2013.

Seems odd now that Knockers took the pen.

It was because they took Nugent off.

Wasn't Drinkwater on the bench in the same game?

    Vardy certainly was.

And MV was the standout striker that day.

Btw, French couple next to me on plane are discussing John Cleese. Too fast to understand but sounds intriguing.

Wrong - he was at Leicester.

Yes, for Leicester (not Millwall as per Super's initial post).

I knew l could rely on you for a comment. Did l upset the forum elite members squad?
If the bus is a slow as the Watford defence then l still have time to design, build, paint, and fit out the bus. Be ready for the 2030 World Cup.
