So will the favourites win the bid (USA/Mexico/Canada) win the right to host the event or Morocco come out on top despite some issues with facilities and safety? https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44338953 Sure the final vote will be political - even more so with Mr Trump around upsetting everyone including 2 of the countries the US are trying to co host with!
USA & Mexico together? I guess they could always hold practise sessions kicking a ball against the wall.
Today is the day for the final decision - see Trump has sent out warnings about punishing countries who don't vote for American and co!
Well they have won. There will be far more games and unfortunately as a result of FIFA's idiocy many more meaningless games. It will be interesting to see if they do go with Argentina-Uruguay for 2030 or continue to rotate. Given their propensity for money over tradition I think they will be looking to China perhaps or even Australia.
So, Canada, Us and Mexico to co-host it. There's something bothering me about the possible title - the 2026 CUM World Cup - just can't quite put my finger on what it is though...
Pleased with that. Houston should be a host city, likely one of the bigger ones considering our infrastructure and status as a biggish travel hub. Free room for whichever poster drops the most cheese jokes between now and 2026.
Really want to go to this World Cup, (if still alive). Would love to spend the whole tournament there travelling around the country and attending the odd match. Eight years to save should mean a decent pot of cash.
Do what all American retirees do, buy yourself an RV and drive to all the fixtures. Or probably just rent one, don't seem worth buying it for a month.
Good chance the Chicago Fire stadium might get a game or two so I might be able to catch some of the games live. Not too shabby!
