Reports in Spain that Gino is in talks to buy 40% of UD Logroñes, and try do the same as he did with Granada. They're a team currently in the third tier of the Spanish league, based in the Rioja region, stadium capacity 16,500. Of course, the ongoing money laundering investigation might have an impact on whether he decides, or is even allowed, to invest there... https://pucelafichajes.com/2018/02/objetivo-gino-pozzo-ud-logrones-no-real-valladolid/amp/
Ha no way!! I lived in Logrono for 2 years! Only moved back to the UK back in summer 2016. It's such a great little city, and is a real gastronomic capital in northern Spain. Logrones were actually in La Liga back in the early 90's, but have fallen on hard times since then, with the club falling into the 3rd tier before going out of business. I would love it if Gino bought them!
This club probably only exists as a fictional entity on a piece of paper (like Raffaele Riva) and is all part of the master scam. I'm all for this move.
I wonder if they sold Granada as they really needed a 2nd/3rd tier club to blood the youngers not a team in La Liga as its just too tough to compete there with youngsters. We have so many on loan now at smaller clubs in Spain but they're not really getting enough game time. Solution - buy a smaller club that will be content with 2nd/3rd tier and fill it with loanees !
On the subject of R Riva, I hear he has been banned from holding a position at any football club indefinitely and unable to appeal this until 2026.
