If Benfica decided to sell him directly to Watford, then the Portuguese club needed to pay money to Besiktas. They don’t want that. He’ll join Watford after his loan period expires.” Hopefully this is true!
Another big lad we're linked with. 6' 3" and can play as an attacking midfielder or a forward. 24 years old but looks pricey for us at around the £20m mark after a good season at Besiktas (55 apps. - 27 goals) that Transfermarkt have him valued at. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/talisca/profil/spieler/258626 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talisca According to the Manchester Evening News 2 days ago an offer of £35m was made by Manchester United to Benfica before the player made a loan switch to the Chinese Super League with Guangzhou Evergrande. If that story is true it makes our involvement with him very unlikely.
That's what I thought until I read the loan was only six months. It's a crazy kind of transfer saga the Pozzos have pulled off before.
It’s well reported on social media that the club in question is Wolves and not us and they source just confused the two clubs.
We need a fox in the box not some guy called Talisaca who will stand around handling his tallywhacker.
I agree in that I can't believe it's true and is more likely Wolves, but having had a quick glance at that WUM zonal chap's Twitter - when he questioned it, they (Sport Witness) replied directly saying that they had checked their source. I suppose it just means that their source is confused!
If true, it could possibly be linked to Pereyra to Torino rumours? Either way, i'd prefer to keep Bobby cos he showed his true quality at the end of last season
By all accounts Talisca is twice the player Pereyra is. Also sounds as though, if it is true, Talisca wouldn’t be arriving until January as he’s in China on loan until then.
He has 37 goals in 78 games from MIDFIELD for Besiktas. United were rumoured to have bid £40m for him. The only thing that makes this possibly true is the fact that he has gone on loan to China.
I don’t believe the United bid story for a minute, any footballer with brains would choose them over the mickey mouse Chinese league
I I think that Bobby to Torino rumour had already been quashed. It is doubtful they could afford him anyway. This an interesting story. It is pretty unlikely that Wolves would have allowed this guy to go to China. This might (just might) be Gino playing the long-game to get hold of a profitable player!
Agree with this. His going to China also seems odd at his age. If he’s so blindly brilliant why don’t Benfica play him instead of trying to shift him progressively further into Asia?
Benfica need the money, but will have to give a cut to Besiktas if they sell in the summer. Instead, they're waiting 6months and selling then, keeping the full fee. I imagine China is involved because it is the place where you can get the largest fee for a 6months loan. This is what I've read anyway. It's all rubbish.
It was originally a one year loan but Besiktas had the option of extending it for a year, I assume the clause meant Benfica couldn't refuse.
Sounds like Benefica want to guarantee a maximum amount of money. Short Chinese loan probably equal to what Besiktas would pay over a year. Presumably Besiktas never intended to buy the guy. Man Utd might have cooled their interest and Wolves could have shifted their attention elsewhere. This could still be a rubbish report but being recirculated more widely. The Pozzos move in mysterious ways their wonders to behold!
He takes free kicks and long pot shots a lot (I believe), so that will help his goal tally, but Besiktas fans over on Reddit are not exactly his biggest fans. He appears to be insanely mercurial, and often very lazy and with a poor attitude. The impression I've always got from them is that he is basically the attacking midfield regen of Holebas. He has also been accused of ******* over the club that own him a lot, and acting unprofessionally with the media and other clubs. Just as well this is rubbish.
