Also, lots more time to get linked with players to spend it on. Going to be a big summer for YouTube videos. I’m excited.

I haven't given up on us keeping him for one more season yet! A new, improved contract with higher wages, one more season for his reputation to hit fever pitch and drive his expected transfer fee up to astronomical levels, and an assurance from Gino that he can leave the year after with the clubs blessing!

But then again, I was also certain that we'd attain our highest ever premier league finish under the snake, so what do I know...........

He was so **** against Liverpool, he should consider himself lucky to be selected for Les Horneuttes

Getting a bit sick of him whoring himself out to the top 6 at the moment. He's definitely made the decision to get himself involved in the media more since the turn of the year which is fine and I'm sure there's talks going on behind the scenes. But is it really that hard to say 'I'm a Watford player and we'll see what happens at the end of the season'?

It's always been his dream to play for liverpool. Last week it had always been his dream to play for arsenal. Next week it will always have been his dream to play for spurs/man utd/man city.

He's a **** and I wont miss him. Mazzarri has been proven right once again.

I remember when Doucoure ran from one end of the pitch to the other, over to the Watford fans at Stamford Bridge after he scored... At that time I was thinking to myself "This guy actually enjoys playing for our team and he's worth more to us than any world class player who couldn't give a toss"...

Seems like he's no different to whiney sods like Richarlison, and that's really dissapointing if i'm honest.

I wonder if he'd be doing all this media stuff if Silva was still here

There was a video around three or four weeks ago with Adam Leventhal at the training ground for joe.co.uk to interview Javi Gracia. He also ran into some of the players on his rounds. But the most telling bit was a few seconds with Richard Walker. He basically said the players have free reign to speak to the media as they wish as the club wants to treat them like adults. Or words to that effect. Surely that's pretty unprecedented in these sanitised days? Or does it just reflect on the fact the captain refuses to be filtered through the media and social media gives them all a platform anyway?

I certainly agree it's time for Doucs to shut up. Like Richarlison he seems to have a hotline to his home media recently and it's starting to suggest he's massively distracted. He'll have all summer to negotiate the release of whatever relative Gino has in the dungeon if he wants.

I don’t think he’s good enough to hold down a spot in a top side like Liverpool, the Manchesters or Spuds. His ball control and passing needs to improve to become a regular for them. Hes all arms and legs and chases the balm of at her than having it under his control. He’s great for us but if he wants to leave then fine, let him go. I suppose he’ll get a higher wage to compensate for the splinters in his bum.

Yep I agree. He's decent for a team like us, but it's laughable to think he could hold his own in the chumpions league. He's been utterly anonymous all the times the big boys have thrashed us this season.

  13. He could move sideways to Arsenal, and work his way up into a top 4 team from there

I have said it before, but without Cleverley playing alongside him, he only looks average. The two together are the best midfield pairing we have had for a good while now. If he goes and Chalbolah has a good summer it won't weaken the team imho. With Hughes in the mix too our midfield options are strong when all available.

Quite frankly with all his talk of dream moves, maybe that is exactly what he shoud do.

Having said that I think he would regret it, because as others have said, he probably would not get a look in as a 1st team player and would probably just be a bench warmer at best, or more likely around a 5th or 6th choice squad member, rarely even making the bench.

I think I was his biggest fan on here since he was playing in Spain - I said back then that he was a Patrick Viera in the making. He has been great for us, but he is getting ahead of himself as he is just not good enough to be a regular in a top side.

I can understand our imported players wanting to speak to their homeland via the press, it is natural. And they will all get asked the same questions, such as "Would you like to play for a big club", and they respond honestly, without any understanding of the effect it has on Watford fans. They need a bit of media training.

I can see the Viera comparison completely and have thought that myself. I’m certainly not saying he’s **** and he would still be one of the first names on the team sheet, I just don’t think he’s ready for the step up yet. He has been great for us and I even saw something in him when Mazzari was forced to play him.

At 25 I suppose he should be ready if he is going to make it at a big club but I’d like another season out of him. If he’s desperate to go, or more likely his agent is desperate, then so be it.

It seems to me that since he started his 'it is my dream to play for Liverpool/Man Utd/Arsenal/Barnstonworth Utd/Euro Disney Girls Second II' his form has dipped noticeably.

I think he needs another season at a ****** little club like ours to polish his game, so he's ready to step into a big side. At present, he's all set up for a move to Chelsea, 4 games spread over 2 seasons before being loaned to Burnley and sold to a French team that I've never heard of.

It's like footballers never see what happens to other footballers.

Tedious as it is to see him popping up on French TV every international break to profess his admiration for another big club, he doesn't really owe us anything. We signed him, then binned him off straightaway on loan without informing him that was our plan. Then we brought him back after a successful loan spell, didn't give him a chance for half a season, were all prepared to ship him back to France and only played him as injuries meant we had no-one else. We messed him about for a year, and he's been our best player in the season and a half since. Can hardly blame him for wanting to move on, he's succeeded here despite being grossly mismanaged for the first year.

£40m price tag according to the mirror.

Watford have decided to sell Doucoure just two years after signing him on the cheap from Rennes.

The 25-year-old cost them just £6million back in 2016.

But with Liverpool and Arsenal circling the Frenchman the Hornets have decided it’s time to cash in.

That is according to the Mirror, who claim Tottenham are also interested in the former Granada loanee.

Watford hope to hike Doucoure’s price to as much as £40m, knowing both Liverpool and Arsenal are in for a midfielder this season.

Would be good business, sell Doucoure and bring in Anguissa for a fraction of that.

If he goes we must get at least the £40m that is being touted, otherwise we should keep him IMO.

Could we have a Mahrez (spelling?) situation on our hands at the end of the season?

    I hope not!

Reports are saying that interest in AD is fading as his performances have slumped since the New Year.

He is yet another player who has gotten all hung up on the hype and let it go to his head, so this could be good news, as he might get his finger out, score on Saturday and play a blinder.

He has the task of protecting an inept defence, while being asked to also support a toothless attack. I think he's definitely been less impressive since the new year, but ultimately the bloke is being asked to do far too much.

Doucs posted a pic of himself signing a contract for Adidas - Chalobah quickly replied with what's shown above, followed by Doucs cryptic response. The other replies were all from other people on Instagram, with most asking him to sign a new deal with us. He didn't answer those ones.....

Still hoping that Gino will convince him to give us one more season, further enhance his reputation, and then leave with the clubs blessing the following summer.
