Meh, would like him back, but life goes on. Definitely would rather spend £20+ million on a striker, we're just about OK out wide for now
Don't blame him to be honest, we're far too tinpot for him and he'll end up playing for a decent team in Europe somewhere - I wouldn't be at all surprised if he ends up at Everton under Marco Silva
Yes, it's an option for him. He's a young player who will have a lot of options open to him. Of course he can pick and choose. I think Watford treated him very well, and he's whole experience here was a good one. I get the impression he wants to be somewhere where he's appreciated. We're an option, but he's going to have choices. It's a waiting game, but I think we've got a decent chance of getting him.
Given Everton have some complicated say in his future, I'd say the chances of us striking a deal are slim Not fussed really either. I think he was a Niang type quick fix
I don't think that's fair. Apart from an ineffective cameo in one of his final games, he seemed to consistently be our best attacking player, when fit. Niang had one or two good games and then looked like he couldn't be arsed. Even when not being particularly effective going forwards, Delofeu gave his all for us. I've no idea of the asking price or whether it could be better spent elsewhere, but if the question is "does Delofeu improve our first team" my answer is "yes" and on that basis, I hope he stays. As long as it's not at the expense of a fox in the box
A thought. Maybe we should avoid signing players whose names, being foreign, are difficult to spell. Inbound: Wood (centre forward), Ward (left back), Jones P (centre back & captain).
We should only take Deulofeu if we can at least get a Coyote in the box and a Raccoon on the other wing, otherwise the squad will be unbalanced.
He was exactly as expected based on what Everton fans had already said about him - very good when fit, but poor defensively and can't last more than 60-70 minutes per match (if that based on his Utd sub appearance), and very injury prone. He wouldn't be the worst signing, but given he'd likely be quite expensive and we already have too many sick-notes that are also challenged in the stamina department, I'd rather we looked elsewhere.
If theres one thing today has taught me, is that Everton fan's can't be trusted to say anything vaguely truthful. Massive club though.
I honestly don't see how anyone expects we will or could sign a winger of higher quality. He is a very good player and as good as we would be able to attract.
Indeed, that's why I say 'for now'. To be fair, Carrillo's been *****, really wouldn't care if he ****s off. We're getting Peñaranda in apparently anyway (I know he's been underwhelming but still). Obviously if Richarlison goes, it would leave a bit of a hole there, but we'd be getting a lot of money for him to bring in a replacement, whether it's Deulofeu or someone else
I can see Peneranda becoming the new Fessi figure at the club, except I bet his instagram will be filled with pictures of him being a total ****, rather than charming, childlike love for the area.
I don’t see us selling Richardson, There’s no pressure to sell, and he’s nowhere near peak value. I’d like Delafoo if we can get him.
Appreciate they won't be everyones cup of tea but presumably Ambrabat and Success will be back from loan also? Think Gracia knows Ambrabat, not sure if that will be good or bad for him. Success looks a lost cause but is strong and quick if he can sort his attitude out could be a player, probably not for us though. That said I would like Deulofeu if we can get him as he can change games in a way that our other wide players can't.
They'd be solid backup players tbf. Only issue is that they're both non-homegrown and over the age limit, we wouldn't want to actually omit someone because we have too many players
There is something about Amrabat and Gracia that makes me think they will be perfect for each other. And a disaster for Watford.
I know it's SportWitness, but it sounds positive nonetheless. http://sportwitness.co.uk/watford-meet-agent-make-offer-player-already-convinced-join/
