After the criticism of my last attempt, I won’t be introducing a random question on this preview post....but of course welcome the chance for one to naturally evolve!

    THE PLACE
Despite the backstreets looking a little like the set of Coronation Street, I’ve always found Burnley a nice enough place to visit.

    THE HISTORY
Burnley is the birth place of James ‘Jimmy’ Anderson, England’s all-time leading wicket taker. Gandalf himself was also born here. Many people also speculate the word ‘Brexit’ was conceived here such was the unanimous vote of their constituents in backing the Leave vote. *Please note, this is not an invitation to turn this into another Brexit row...*

    THE CLUB
Now managed by Sean Dyche, the club has experienced a fantastic season this year, lead by some unfanciful names. They may not quite be superstar household names, but I’d take a fair few of them in our team.

    PREDICTION
    9-7 to us.
Michael Chopra to get all 9 goals and be seen falling out of a bookies shortly afterwards having blown all his goal-bonus on a ‘dead-cert’. Tarkowski and Mee go to the WC anyway, showing just how much we will be up against it against Panama.

Burnley are one of those sides. Got no special players, but just goes to show what can be achieved when you're organised, disciplined, determined and together. These are all basic ingredients every team should possess, but so few do, including Watford.

We'll find them a tough nut to crack, and they have more than enough to exploit our defensive weaknesses.

I expect a narrow defeat from this one.

Burnley are very effective, but by one of the dullest teams of all time. If they get the first goal it could be a long afternoon

Can't see us losing this one. All I want is a comfortable win and not to be shitting my undies for the final ten mins

    3-0 us.

I know an honest forecast goes down as a lead balloon if it’s not 100% happy clappy, but we do lose games. It’s not a crime to admit it.

Dyche has made a big deal saying Burnley have not had a penalty all season. You can bank on them getting one on Saturday. That’s how football works.

You said the exact same thing about Pulis and WBA when we played them after Rodriguez was robbed against Arsenal for them...

    It didn’t happen.

I’m not one who always questions your negativity. I often agree with what you post. But I do sometimes feel you are a touch unsighted to your negativity at times. I’m far from a ‘happy-clapper’ in saying that to you.

We were edged out up there as many teams have been. They play a fairly tight game, but their away form isn’t great over this season - so there are equal amounts of reasons to be optimistic and I think some people would just rather you occasional point to these rather than the glass being mainly half empty.

But alas, it is not for me to tell you how to compose yourself on here. Each to their own. Let’s not turn the preview of this game into the post-game Bournemouth analysis though...at least not until the game is done!

But I’m not negative. I’m honest. If I think we’d win, I’d say that and everyone is happy. when I make an honest judgement but it’s not a positive one, it provokes anger in others.

You say it’s not for you to tell me how I compose myself on here, but yet you try to do just that. So that’s a little ironic.

You are probably only tuned in to a negative post and ignored the positive ones. You seem to remember a post that I can’t even remember about West Brom, I think that kind of point scoring is a bit strange.

I rarely remember what anyone writes on here.

It’s only a prediction. If it doesn’t happen, then it doesn’t happen. It’s a bit strange going back a few months, saying I said something and holding to account for it.

I was one of the few that predicted we’d beat Arsenal. You didn’t mention that as it just doesn’t fit the stereotype you are trying to portray I guess.

I remember the WBA post vividly becuse it was one of the few times I questioned you previously before a game about a prediction you made. It’s fine if you don’t remember. But It’s okay for someone to point that out to you as it’s relevant to the very sentence you typed out, it doesn’t make me or anyone else who would do the same ‘strange’. You made a prediction as if it was a near certainty, it was wrong. Now you are making the exact same prediction for the same reasons and saying ‘it’s how football works’ so it’s entirely relevant to point out you said that before and it isn’t how the game works.

I have defended you before when I felt others have come at you unfairly. True, you didn’t ask me to do so. But also realise that these ***-for-tat disputes happen more or less before-after every game recently. At some stage you may need to understand it isn’t always the other party that is wrong.

Nobody has given you any grief or got angry though so far? You think we might lose. I think we might as well as they have a much better defence than us. Not sure why this thread needs to be turned into HB1 against the world at this stage!? Chill out.

For no reason you start a veiled attack. Seeing as you remember so vividly West Brom, you must remember my predictions for Arsenal at home? Was saying I think we’d win negative in your eyes? No, it was another honest judgement.

I say we’ll win sometimes, we’ll lose sometimes and draw other times.....and this is what happens. We don’t win every game and it shouldn’t be attacked if someone says they’ think we’ll lose occasionally.

I’m NEVER the aggressor. I’m only guilty of defending my position, but this action is not widely appreciated.

Anyway, I’ve changed my prediction to a 6-0 win in order to pacify you.

You’re going to be next in the firing line if you continue with your crazy notion we might lose. This sort of behaviour is not tolerated.

To me 0-1 seems a highly likely score line. I don’t have any time for Burnley but it is hard not to respect how well drilled they are as a team.

Btw, did Berlin live upto expectations?

Heaven forfend that we get sidetracked into discussing our favourite Euro short break destinations but I’ve enjoyed each visit to Berlin.

Is it originally cool at the minute?

    Or Shoreditch/Williamsburg wannabe?

    I hear different reports.

Attack? Pfft, come on now. I haven’t questioned your belief in your prediction of the game outcome. So why would I bring up your predictions of other games as a whole? It holds some truth, what you are saying about Burnley. I just think it leant on the negative when there are also positives that could be looked upon...

We beat them at the Vic last year...
The improved form of Pereyra and Hughes....
Players slowly coming back from injury...

I don’t know your predictions from many of the games this season, hence why I would not reference them. I referenced one remark you made before the game against WBA which is entirely relevant to the point you originally made.

You clearly stated or implied that all my posts are negative. This is what I’m putting you right on. They are balanced and honest. No other agenda than that.

Loved it. Not a place you can cover in a short city break - I’ve been a number of times and still uncover new parts every time.

It’s not easy on the liver! But given the rising costs all over Europe and the cost of things in relation to the Euro, it’s one of the few places that’s still cheap I find in mainland Europe. A beer is about €3/4 everywhere. Food is reasonably priced also.

I wouldn’t say it has been gentrified to anywhere near Williamsburg or East London levels yet, and hope it never will be. It’s very shabby in places without looking run-down or forgotten about. Kreuzberg still has a draw beyond those places for me and has more in line with Paris I’d say.

There are still thousands of blokes with mullets, white vests and wrap-around shades listing to techno at the age of 50+ though. And women for the matter.

Fair enough. If that’s how it came across to you, then I honestly apologise. Wasn't the intention. I highlighted your negativity and that in turn probably made you think that I was implying you are always that way, which I wasn’t doing.

Happy to draw a line under it!

I was slightly underwhelmed by Milan. Florence I adore and Rome and old town Bergamo as mentioned in an ancient thread.
Will we see TC as mentioned in the forum last week?

Yes, Milan is the most underwhelming city I have visited. They've got an ugly cathedral that's got far too many pointy bits on it, a crappy statue of da vinci wearing a dress and and ropey old theatre. Plus a harlequin-esque shopping centre.

    That's it.
