The bruise has been rehabilitated! Well done medics!

The bruise may have faded but I expect, in a funny way, it'll always be with Britos.

    Exactly the same over here.

I’ve found stretching most effective. I’ve been channeling Nadia Comeneci.

I’m avoiding ice, more hot baths.

And I’ve chanced across a chap who was the Richard Collinge of QPR as physio.

‘I bet you’ve got some stories about Arry’ I ventured.

‘Yes’ he said & applied some uber massage contraption to my back.

About 3 mins later he said ‘It’s at 84. I’ve never got it to 84 before.’

9am appointment tomorrow & eager for further revelations.

This fella reckons it’s all about the lower back. Relax & work it.

    Thanks, RT.

Apologies for the late reply, I’ve been distracted away from this thread by the football.

So you’re saying a physio rather than an osteopath? I went for sports massage before Christmas, he put it down to too much sport and getting older! He used electric stimulation, and ‘the thumper’ on it and carry on icing it. Trouble is I don’t do enough of the excersizes he showed me.

I did a lot of stretching last week and it really eased up. This week, not so much and it’s come back.

Sitting down for too long brings it back, any twisting motion of the lower back or right leg and sometime sneezing. I can’t get anywhere near touching my toes now. The sensation, because it’s not always pain, is anything from a dull back pain, to a pulled hamstring to a tingling sensation in the quad.

Oh well, I’m just an old g*t complaining about injuries now! Keep us informed ....

Not sure that will help your back, but if it helps take your mind off the pain, go ahead. Will eat up the batteries.

My sciatica came on very suddenly and I had not realised it could be so painful. It crippled me for weeks while I waited for the good old NHS to help. In that time I could do very little and no pain killers came anywhere near helping. Finally I saw a physio and they gave me a series of exercise and across a few weeks the pain lessened and eventually went completely. That was three years ago and touch wood it has not recurred. I have used an osteopath in the past for back pain but do not think an osteopath would have solved the sciatica

So the latest update from Javi is that Britos is not quite yet recovered from his bruise and he hopes to have Kiko, Hughes and Gomes involved in training to some degree next week. Cleverley is likely to return sooner than Kabasele too.

Green shoots of progress if not a stampede back through the first team door.

Good stuff. Look forward to the update after the FA Cup break when we hear how all of the above are only a few weeks away from returning to full training.

You're much too optimistic. There's plenty of time for a relapse or two.

Man City players returning from ankle ligament injuries quicker than our players return from bruised toes.

I guess money buys amazing medical teams as well as this is not the first time this season that Man City have had a spectacular turnaround time!

Wasn't clarke Carlisle out for ages with a bruise once? Nearly became career threatening or something along those lines. Can't remember if it was promotion or the prem season

It was billed as some sort of muscular injury but I'm pretty sure it came out later on that it was just cover for his depression, which wasn't public knowledge at the time.

Coming to this thread late but it does seem to be a bit of a pity that it would appear to have gone seriously off piste in the last couple of weeks.

So, in an attempt to get it back on track:

I'm not a fan of the peaty Islay malts from the south coast of that island. The aforementioned Laphroaig, the Lagavulin and the Ardbeg. The Caol Ila from the north-east is a very fine offering however.

On Speyside the Cragganmore and the Macallan are exceptional.

The Highland Park (Orkney) is, imho, b.llocks.

The Talisker (only Skye single malt) is a thing of nectar.

The Jura is mighty fine too. Only offering from that island which is only a few hundred metres from Islay. And it's got paps too!

But don't tell them that on Islay where I once went through the card in a hotel bar in Bowmore and, being an honest sort of bloke, had to admit that the Jura was my favourite. Didn't go down well at all.

How's the Britos bruise thingy coming along?

You definitely don't want me available. I've played some over 50s games but needed to be subbed during warm up.

Crystal Palace players getting injured after some of ours, initially ruled out for longer and STILL back before our injured parties.

Cleverley where is he?? Any word on Kabasele at all? Kaboul I've given up on. It's actually mind boggling!

Couldn’t agree more. Our injury black hole is what has spoilt this season much more than the Silva episode. This is what everyone going to the ‘At Our Place’ Q&A should be asking about.
