Just as well that we’re not the sort of team to give a lift to other teams playing poorly. If we score more than them I’d say we’ll probably win, if not it’ll be a loss or draw. Watford 2 West Brum 1 Oh and these may be enjoyable but are not sports: Golf Snooker Darts Shooting/archery Agree on Formula 1, not a sport just a car engineered to go faster than the rest. People only watch it to see crashes and now they’ve removed the pretty girls there is absolutely nothing interesting about it.
2-0 Watford. We're a different proposition than under Silva. As a game is something you play, and a sport is something you go (you go running/riding/swimming, you don't play running/riding/swimming. You play football, tiddlywinks, golf, you don't go football,tiddlywinks/golf) I'd have to say fox hunting is my least favourite sport.
Was that the one at the Grove? I treated my dad to this and after about half hour watching Beef and Donald on the putting green we set up shop on the terrace bar on the 18th and got slaughtered. Cracking day out.
1-1 Drug fuelled Olympics, basketball, curling, drug fuelled cycling, horse racing, dressage, wrestling,
2-0 Watford. Worst sports: Horse racing and F1, as equal bottom. Both terminally tedious and dull, of no interest whatsoever to me. I'd rather watch football at Kenilworth Road.
I reckon this match is Pardew’s “Mark Robins” moment. Scramble a win. Save his job. And embark on a 20 year trophy laden legacy.
Anyone who doesn't like cricket should be chemically castrated, as should anyone who likes motor sport. Worst sport - Worm charming.
Going to this. My first home game in quite a while so looking forward to it very much so. A win here would pretty much keep us up. Really hoping that Deulofeu is fit as he'd tear their defence apart. Pardew teams always attack a bit, so hopefully that will mean they will be left more open at the back which is something we haven't come to expect from West Brom in years. If Deulofeu is fit, I'd love to see this: Karzenis Femenia Mariappa Prodl Holebas Deulofeu Doucoure Capoue Richarlison Okaka Deeney Why the fook not.
2-0 to Watford, Gravy has come in and toughened us up (at home at least), rather than being Silva's fancy bottlers. Worst sport: Motor "sport", particularly F1. Dull, corrupt and watched by over-excited, infantilised morons. Ooooh its fast and loud! Cycling, which is OK (if not very exciting), but has been destroyed by sad middle aged men in vile outfits acting like they own the roads and that they are sporting legends because they've forked out loads for a bike and hang round with their equally dull friends massaging each others ego's.
A 1-0 grindfest. WBA take gamesmanship to levels surpassing those of the 'Muff. Basketball. It's the sport in Lithunaia, in fact it's almost the State Religion (after "forgetting what we did during the second world war"). Ever sat in a packed stadium (11.6K) of screaming delirious drunken fans watching a glorified game of catch in bored silence - I have.
My previous visits: Watford 1-2 Blackpool Watford 3-0 Barnsley Watford 0-1 Cardiff Watford 0-2 Stoke Watford 3-4 Southampton I don't seem to bring much luck (Barnsley aside) but confident of getting a result this weekend (just hopefully no issues with my flight over!)
At least it's not our mid Herts rivals, The Boro. Edit: in relation to Lewis Hamilton's footballing affiliation. Neither here nor there, really.
Yes; yes; & open to persuasion. Watch out for Afghanistan in the cricket. Rashid Khan (19 yo) is now ranked top bowler in white ball cricket worldwide. A 16 yo mystery spinner opened the bowling for them in Zim recently & got a 5fer. Bahir Shah is the fastest ever to a 1000 first class runs. He was 18 last week.
Really hope not. Lose this, Arsenal and Liverpool and we will have to start looking over our shoulders again. I like this relative feeling of safety.
Hello Rookery Dad, Ping Pong is absolutely engrossing. I play League Table Tennis and have done for many years. I was invited to play in the World Ping Pong Championship qualifiers at Harlow this year and it was brilliant. It's basically Table Tennis but without the help of sponge and rubber. The bats are sandpaper and both players use the same bat. The rallies are much longer than TT as spin is harder to create, topspin is achieved by an open bat. The game is gaining popularity worldwide now due to the money being pumped into it by TV. The Harlow tournament was full of international players many who travelled from China to qualify. I was knocked out by Matt Ware who went on to make the ¼ finals who is also a fine TT player. Give it a go, it is great fun.
Low quality Pulis built team of knuckle draggers managed by the most pointless manager in the game. If we don't win we will deserve shooting. Worst sport winter olympics, the while thing is a collection of silly exclusive minority sports played by rich people.
"....infantilised morons...." God, I wish I'd come up with that! What I've also noticed about F1 fans, is the high percentage of them who are 50 something, white males, with Thai/Malay/Philippino brides that they bought on the internet. Sorry, did I say "bought?". I meant "met".....they met them in a pub, or at work, or through mutual friends. Yes, "met"....not "bought".
EC, thanks for your reply & impressive! Excellent that a Hornet has appeared in the World Championship & handy that it was in Harlow. In my youth I was a decent & certainly enthusiasm table tennis player. I played an aggressive topspin style, few things in life being as satisfying as really catching a forehand loop with added side spin. Bengtsson, the Swedish ace, was my hero. He's the left handed one here: Not for the Swedes a dismal Euro techno backing track! Has PP overttaken TT these days? It seems to get a bit more media coverage. I did try it a while ago but missed the added oomph from the rubber, so to speak.
Also did excellent Ali documentary; think he’s actually very witty. Used to like Chiles but now can’t stand him, especially following his sanctimonious grassing up of Carol Thatcher. F1 and any American sport - they’re all garbage.
What do we reckon the lineup will be? Will Richarlison keep his place after a run of poor form? Karneszis, Kiko, Mariappa, Prodl, Holebas, Pereyra, Capoue, Doucoure, Okaka, Deeney, Carillo (Presuming Deulo out)
I'm a middle aged man who loves cycling. I don't think I own the roads or am a sporting legend, or have particularly dull friends. How nice of you to condemn a whole sport because of a petty prejudice. Says more about you than it does about me.
Amazing how different the styles were then, they look so individual in the past. The kids now are coached to play with topspin attack mainly. I don't think PP will overtake TT for a long while but definitely gaining ground. Sorry to highjack this thread with Table Tennis! I'll go for 4-0 demolition..Pardrew sacked at full time.
For some bizarre reason not overly confident about this one but we do need a win to leave Arsenal and Liverpool as free hits. Head says routine 1-0 win for us.
