One of those players I would always pick up as a free agent on football manager once he was released. He was always a let down.

Chelsea want guaranteed playing time so it's a no from me. Every player in our squad should have to fight for his starting position.

Doubt Chelsea would be that keen to loan to us then. Who was that young lad with the dodgy tache they lent us? We never played him.

How the hell did Reg Barkley only command a £15m fee? Isn’t he a footballing megastar anymore?

The deal is apparently being investigated by the police as it is alleged that Barkley's agent pocketed 7 million pounds!

If Gaitan is indeed coming then we would have the required depth wingers wise. And it's possible we could end up with another Kenedy like situation which might also concern Chelsea.

No, the mayor of Liverpool has decided to waste the time of the police by writing them a letter which, because of his standing, a senior officer will now have to waste time that could be better spent doing something worthwhile responding to. There will be no investigation as there is no crime to investigate.

Oh, did Gino miss the boat there or has it been discovered that Barkley wasn’t the next Pele?

I thought that he was touted as the future of English football alongside Wiltshire?

Suppose I could do my own research but reading about non-Watford footballers does tend to bore the arse off me.

Hope this is true. I’ve kept an eye on him for a few years now after seeing him play for Chelsea in the FA youth cup, probably the most excitingly player in the Chelsea academy at the moment. Had a productive loan spell in Spain and is knocking on the first team door at Chelsea. Comes from a football family with dad ex pro and brothers all playing. Very similar to Leroy sane

He's very very good. Hope we land him, could be a serious boost for Bournemouth should they get him.

Issue with this one is that the reason he wants to go on loan is for first team football. And I doubt Chelsea will want to sell him permanently so we would just be developing their player - which has shown in the past can have mutual benefits. But, and it’s a big ‘but’ with our medical history, but if he has to play and everyone is fit, who are we leaving out? With a midfield that has Clevs, Chalobah, Doucoure, Pereyra, Richarlison and Carrillo - and potentially Gaitán - I don’t see where he gets the guaranteed football he is supposedly moving for.

Maybe if we let Capoue go, he comes in but that still doesn’t serve the purpose of what Chelsea want for him...

Yes, over the past couple of seasons it has been pretty definitively discovered that he is not the next Pele; very little game intelligence it seems. lost his place at Everton, then has been injured the entire first part of this season. Chelsea were pursuing him in the summer, but he chose to stay, get injured and rehabbed then move to Chelsea for half the fee now

His move is very odd because it basically takes up Ruben Loftus Cheek's spot, and at this point he is no less of a talent than Barkley, whilst being younger and with far less failure attached. One Chelsea fan I spoke to about it said they couldn't understand it either, and it's that the board have terrible planning issues coupled with an obsession with identifying targets then playing stupid games over long periods of time trying to get them at knockdown rates. This is one of those times when it has worked, though even what position Barkley actually plays is still very much up for debate.

Very clever comment i thought at the time but wasted on a peripheral thread like this. Either that or no fans of 1990s electronic music on here.:(

If he got on the Autobahn towards the Neon Lights of London Colney he could make a Telephone Call (obviously not whilst driving) to The Robots at WFC recruitment & tell them he is a Model professional.

On his day off, he could rise early & take a Morgenspaziergang (oddly lapsing into German).

During his run out at London Colney, he might get some Air on his G String & think Magnificat!

Hopefully, he won't travel to Selhurst Park seduced by any Goldberg Variations.

    I saw the 2013 tour.

From where I was standing, the lads at their lecterns might as well have been doing their emails. No visual element of performance from them. But a stunning show.

The one slight blight on the evening was being accosted with a rather rough Sarf London 'Ere, can I ave that cushion?'

On turning, I came face to face with, yes, Janet Street Porter.

(Cushions were provided so that the audience of oldies could sit on the floor. You were meant to hand them back at the end. I didn't. Up the jumper & looking every inch like Peter Griffin, I strode forth.)

Luckily they don't need to move around a lot. A bit like Capoue. Autobahn was one of the first songs i really liked - 1975 i believe.

There are fewer more irritating human beings (excl this forum of course) but she must always be forgiven for the many years of service her son gave to our midfield
