Ighalo in his purple patch was the better finisher, but I'm happy we've got Gray instead. His work for the team is head and shoulders above Iggy's, and the only reason he misses so many is because he busts a gut to get in great positions.
If it clicks for him, he'll be one hell of a player.

Very astute. There's never been a **** footballer before has there. Ever? The system is flawless at weeding them all out.

If it looks like he's **** after 13 games which have been 90% **** but peaked at hopeless, then the fault must be in the eye of the beholder, rather than the obvious, but clearly incorrect conclusion, that he's ****.

    He's **** mate

It's like Churchill choosing between Stalin and Hitler choosing between Deeney and Gray.

We must be able to sign a striker in January who isn't guilty of footballing genocide.

Iggy was a terrible player for the last year with us, but I'd have him over Gray, because he's not Gray.

    When
When did we sign Zeegs? I vaguely remember it was the summer but can remember anything Else about him. Is he a loan? Where has he been so far?

  7. He was a last minute arrival from Sporting. Everybody had written him off because he wasn't Gibbs.

    Ha.

We are moving into an era where an owner with loads of money is not enough to guarantee success like it may have done 10 or more years ago.

With the Prem money, all 20 clubs have enough to buy quality players , which means in that busy market place , the best scouting comes to the fore.

In recent years we have seen Big clubs with big budgets suffer badly because of bad senior management and player purchase i.e. Everton, WHU, Newcastle , Sunderland ...

... whilst smaller well run clubs have thrived i.e. Burnley , Watford , WBA

Add Prodl (Free) ,Kabasele (4 mill) ,
Gomes ( Free) and Okaka ( 4 mill)...

... and we bought a whole team better than most of the league for only slightly more than Siggurdson.

Does that make Forestieri our Mussolini ?

Always Threatened , with lots of posturing on the big stage but never really delivered when it came down to the final battle .

At least we didn't find him hanging from a tree in Watford High St

Pretty crazy to think we took apart one of the (historically) biggest clubs without really getting out of second gear, and we're all slightly disapointed we didn't score more.

Why should Silva commit to the cause? Watford have no longevity plan.........

    BS . Stupid comment.

If Silva improves year on year, Gino will provide him with better players and will obviously keep him for as long as he can....... if Silva is shiite, then he goes the same way as Mazzari

I personally find it staggering coming back on here after another great away day to find that, much more than people acknowledging and celebrating our biggest away win in the Premier Keague, joint best start in the top flight and bouncing back from what could have been a confidence-sapping losing run with two very comfortably seen out wins home and away and as many vital clean sheets, people are content to nitpick several aspects of our performance and slag off a striker just because he missed a couple of chances and still scored.

So what if we paid £18m for him? That’s pretty much equivalent these days what with all the Premier League money streaming in to what we spent on Heidar, and no one had such inflated expectations of him back then, even back in the second tier. He has two goals and two assists, admittedly not a brilliant return (so far), but what were Troy’s stats at the same point of our first season back up and he was just 9 months from being valued at £30m?

    Rant over.

The way I see it, is we won 3.0 away from home, could have got more so we should be rather happy tonight. Quite a simple attitude but it's working.

Ps I'll say it again, Gray does more than goals and deserves his place over Deeney who is better for us as an impact sub (basically once the defence are knackered).

Of the three, the soundest choice.

If it makes anyone feel any better; I'm sure there's a load of performance related add-ons that we wont be paying Burnley.

4 years ago we had this result..

Now we are sitting clear in 8th in the Premier league after a good 3-0 away win.

No wonder some other clubs feel jealous about or even hate our progress

Great result and brilliant performance from all the players.

Shout out to Britos who didn’t try to get his own back on Shelvey after that shocking tackle.

Zeegelaar is proving he is our number one LB/LWB and he is making a massive difference to how we play. £3mil now seems like a right bargain. Even if he under performs for the rest of the season he has increased his value.

What makes me nervous about this team, is the summer transfer window.

Femenia is by far in the top 3 RB’s in the Prem so far this season.

Kabasele is proving his worth and easily one of the best CB’s outside the top 6 teams. In fact I would go as far as saying based on his form, he would get into Arsenal’s and Liverpool’s defence.

Zeegelaar is still wet behind the ears but if he continues what he has started over these past two games he will also be a wanted man.

Doucoure is a man mountain and is comfortably a top 6 CM

Richarlison is maturing each game and while he hogs it a bit too much, he is showing he is the real deal. His potential is through the roof.

Trying to be realistic as possible and going off of their form now, if they continue on the path they are on, I would say that’s about £130mil between the 5 of them.

As for the abuse Gray is getting, we wouldn’t have the victories we have without him. Yes he has missed some sitters, but his work rate, movement off the ball, pace and strength have created opportunities for others to score. His tireless running knackers defenders and while he should have had 2 maybe 3 goals today, he did at least score one and it was very well taken. That will boost his confidence. Would I like him to score more, of course, but you cannot question the mans effort, willingness and commitment to the cause and team.

On a side note, I wonder if Lukaku will face a ban for his blatant kick out off the ball against Brighton today. Why is the media not making more of that dangerous play?
