Luke Shaw crashed his car into teammate Phil Jones' 200k Bentley today.

This guy gives me the impression that he's a clumsy Norman Wisdom type player.

Phil Jones strikes me as more of a Renault Espace type of guy.

If we could we should make a sneaky bid for Alexander Barboza of River Plate. He is a mean tough central defender. Imposing physically and great in the air and very comfortable on the ball. River Plate regularly manufacture central defenders like him and we could do with him. Would not be surprised to see him make the Argentina team in the future. Could get him for relative peanuts right now. Around £7M.

Never heard of the guy, but if he is as good as you claim, he sounds like the type of player we could do with.

Jakob Jankto rumours to Arsenal have appeared again, as they did in the summer.

As a 21 year old it would be a better transition to play for us where there is less pressure while he adapts to the EPL.

We could then sell them Doucoure in the summer, as it seems he may fancy a move then from what hes been saying the press.

Just seen that Daniel Sturridge has been put up for loan by Liverpool, surely worth a punt? Hasn't scored many goals in the last couple of seasons, but would probably benefit from a run of games, and is almost definitely better than what we've got

I would imagine that the players ego (in that he believes he's a "top 6" club player - not including Burnley) and his wage demand would rule him out of currently coming here. I'd be surprised if our new striker was anybody other than Slimani or an unknown from Serie A (which wouldn't necessarily mean they're rubbish, just that we'd all be underwhelmed and convinced that we'd managed to have found somebody worse than the ones already here).

What a Christmas present he'd be for our medical boys and girls.

Hidde ter Avest just for the puns......;) Brother of Haivis.....

No really a very capable offensive and defensive fullback at Twente Enschede whose physical presence would be welcome considering some of the icicles we have at the back. It is a slight risk in that the Eredivisie is at a weak level but he has been capped by the Netherlands at all age levels.

Celtic have accepted £18m from Brighton for Dembele apparently. We should be all over that surely??

Do we think perhaps the calamitous ineptitude of our medical department and the lightweight glass construction of Mr Sturridge might cancel out like a double negative from rudimentary mathematics and produce an invincible striker who plays every minute of the season, scoring a million goals in the process?

Gray is pants. Dyche must be wetting himself just watching.

The keeper made it easier by committing early and still a limp foot high shot just perfect for a keeper

Yaya Toure on loan, hasn´t played a game this season and probably wont and would be a good signing while we are waiting for some of the walking wounded to come back.

Would undoubtably be a phenomenal signing, but probably the type of player we need least of all currently. Defence and attack need major surgery.

Very solid defensively, great stamina, decent crosser and gets forward. Tenacious player.

In January last year Palace splashed out on the Sakho loan fee, a big leader at the back. Only lasted 8 games, but arguably the catalyst for their recovery.

I know it's not our model, or budget. But this talk of rummaging around Wolves and Sunderland reserves is not inspiring.

We desperately need a figurehead at the back - seasoned PL player (200 games), probably 30+, who doesn't 'sell shirts' necessarily, but who can manage the defensive side, talk for the team on the pitch and just calm things when we're under pressure, ... stop the last minute collapses.

An experienced figure.... that's where I'd spend the money.

Having a captain in goal or perpetually suspended is no good right now. Kaboul and Cathcart ain't coming back.

Thus, a modern day Pat Rice or Brian Talbot (assuming even a modern day McClelland would be out of our reach). Or Eustace.

They don't even need to be world-class, just a seen-it-all player that can guide on the pitch, because we look clueless at times now.

We are going to have to scratch for the last 15 pts- half of them might come from just having more nous and leadership on the pitch - unlike most struggling teams, we aren't short of goals, it's seeing the games over the line - that's where confidence will come from.

Damned if I can think of one, mind you.
