Sorry, I know this is ancient history but I'm not having it that Tommy Smith 'thought he was too big for us'. He was rightly narked when he was passed over for the FA Cup semi-final in favour of a loanee who had scored 4 goals in the freak game at Burnley, despite doing much to get us that far with goals in both the 5th and 6th rounds. He clearly fell out with the manager and wanted to leave for that reason alone. Watford was his club and he was delighted to come back, even though he was plunged into the awful Boothroyd team.

Not really my opinion, just perceiving how people saw it at the time. I personally was delighted he came back and always thought he was one of the brighter sparks in a struggling team.

Incidentally, as a final thought on the Everton game: why wasn't Pickford sent off for preventing a clear goal scoring opportunity when he brought Richarlison down for the penalty?

If a penalty is awarded, you don't get the punishment of a penalty conceded and a player sent off. They get a yellow and that's yer lot is my understanding.

believe this only reinforces the fact that there is a conspiracy against us from the FA and officials.

I watched the highlights again this morning. I think we need to congratulate Holebas on getting a hat trick of **** ups which led to their goals. Their first goal, Holebas should have cleared the ball into row Z but somehow missed and proceeded to blame the keeper. Their second was scored at the back post by out jumping a static and confused looking Holebas. And then there was the pen which was conceded by Holebas. Well played, mate

I really think you need to look more closely at the role Britos had to start the whole sorry mess.

The one person Karno shouldn't have had a misunderstanding with was Holebas.

Having just seen the "highlights" Britos almost got caught out just after Richarlison scored! (His goal was harder than the chance he missed)

Letting the ball bounce seems to be a problem in our defence - like Robert Page used to do.

Gomes made 2 excellent saves before going off just showing his worth and how much we missed him (and he wanted to play on!)

Penalties were just a mess - Holebas falls over giving theirs away and Cleverley not even close to scoring (looks like Ricky wanted to take it..)

That's news to me, I think you still get red if you're the last player and preventing a goalscoring opportunity.
