Wouldn't be at all surprised if he did the off in the summer. Far too good to be playing at the level we're at. No idea how we got him in the first place.
He'll be here the start of next Season. Hasn't done enough to warrant a move to a bigger club yet if he wants regular game time rather than be on the bench.
http://www.calciomercato.com/en/news/exclusive-watford-star-won-t-leave-agent-tells-cm-60264 His agent says he'll be back around the 10-12th May but he'll still need to build fitness after that. He will be staying at Watford though has had offers from other English clubs.
Well that's that then ... Once a players agent starts mentioning offers from other clubs they're as good as gone. I wonder who will replace him?
http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp...ng_after_long_injury_lay_off/#comments-anchor Started to do running again. Looks like the long term view is paying off for him and the club.
Hopefully he gets a bit of game time tomorrow. Seems to be in full training, so be good to see him start to building some match fitness!
It's hard to articulate how badly we need him back fit. He's our best attacking midfielder by a country mile and will be crucial if we are to score goals with the attacking corps we currently possess.
Finally got some minutes today, playing 25 minutes against Rangers. Good to hear, hopefully he continues to step up his comeback at Villa this weekend.
I love Pereyra and was pleased to see him get 45 minutes under his belt. However, if Silva is going to play him in the wide position he played yesterday, it'll be a waste in my opinion. It seemed Pereyra's main objective during the Villa match was to position himself on the half way line, cut inside and pass a square ball to Prodl.
I think once Richarlison is in fully in the team and we have a new winger to replace Amrabat then we will see Pererya back in the #10 where he is best.
He has to be our number 10, absolutely has to be. Hopefully he's not out too long but Richarlison makes the wide left position his own in the mean time, so the decision to play him where he should be played is even more of a no brainer.
This guy just oozes class, every touch and every pass had L'pool backpedalling .... we need him back asap
Maybe people think he is still injured. I presume they mean potential first teamers - afterall you're not going to pick the 3rd choice goalie at most teams are you?
I guess he isn't playing as a number 10 is because we don't play a system with a man just off of the main striker We play 4 3 3 / 4 2 3 1 not 4 4 1 1
What exactly do you think the middle person in the 3 of a 4-2-3-1 is? It's an attacking midfield role - the number 10 role.
The number 10 role is as a support striker, who plays a little deeper and crates, much as Deeney did for Iggy, Beardsley did for Lineker, If Capoue was in middle of a 4231 you would never describe him as a No.10 though. I see Pereyra as more of a creative midfielder, much like Gazza was
My opinion is / was that Silva was easing him back in. Was likely to have given him an hour v Liverpool and build up his fitness through the first month before putting him in the middle only once he is satisfied he is 90 mins fit. Clearly that has been delayed by this new minor injury.
Kinda makes sense, unless you're a Watford fan you wouldn't see him as value for money, he's not top tier and he's not cheap filler. Xhaka, Doccoure, Ox, Knockaert, Tom Ince, Lingard, Shaqiri, Boufal, Snodgrass, Cabaye, Gray all cost the same or cheaper.
I noticed he was grabbing his right leg . I have a sneaking feeling it was his left knee he damaged last season against City but not entirely sure .
This guy is forever going to be "getting back into the swing of things" and "building match fitness" until he leaves.
I hate to say it, but sadly I think he is one of those players that is brilliant when fit, but unfortunately rarely is. Me thinks we might have to look into finding a suitable replacement, and off load him if we can
