No great surprise but I hope we can get a similarly versatile player in for next year maybe a slightly upgraded one though as I think every squad needs someone like that. Don’t particularly think he did much wrong when he did play but I know there’s plenty who think he’s useless.
Entirely predictable, he'd hardly started any games for the three seasons before he joined and carried on in the same vein. Wasn't too bad when he was on the pitch and will always have the Manchester United moment but ultimately, a waste of a squad place. He was brought in as cover for the wing backs/full backs yet even when he was fit, centre backs and wingers were preferred to him in his natural position. I'd have similar concerns about Vermaelen. Players that have struggled with form and fitness for several consecutive seasons and are the wrong side of 30 seem unlikely to suddenly rediscover their glory days.
Total nonentity who was a waste of a squad place. Really typifies the sort of signings I hope we don't make more of
Another one to join the **** heap with Oulare, Sinclair, Djedje, Ibarbo, Jurado, Suarez, Penaranda (can't wait for him to never play), Fabbrini, Diamanti, Belkalem, Tamas, Merkel, Neill etc. etc.
A sadly under-rated player who hasn't really had that much of a chance to show us what he can do. He's played only bit parts, but made some excellent contributions - especially securing us our first win over Manure in 30 years. He's tricky and accurate with his passing and gets into good and dangerous positions. I wouldn't be at all sorry to see him kept on next season. An invaluable squad player of no little quality.
https://www.clubcall.com/watford/serie-a-star-to-return-to-watford-1854087.html Apparently reports in Italy are saying Zuniga will be returning on loan.
Judging from the amount of ball watching he does I can only assume we ve signed him to join the match commentary team .
Would take up a Non HG Spot but seems to have a good attitude and as Clive said he does have something. If he does come here again then I'm trusting the club here.
Agreed - one of the few players who showed a bit of tactical discipline last season. Think Walter should have used him as a man to man marker more frequently
Could understand this if we didn't have so much pressure on non-HG spots. He's fine as an odd job man, seems quite an intelligent footballer and a popular character in the dressing room. Having said that, he has made 19 league starts for all his teams combined since 2012/13 and I can't see him suddenly being significantly more involved next year at 31. Would be very surprised if this is true, I assumed we would look to use his spot for someone to strengthen the starting XI.
He's Gilmartin's replacement as Jon Mark's sidekick. Apparently his English has been deemed better than Derek Payne's.
I completely forgot about Parades but I think that Zuniga is a better player. Poor parades looks like he's only just discovered football but that is not for this thread. Overall I liked Zuniga, he adds a certain experience, doesn't complain and just gets on with it. Loved his cameo against Man Utd.
Apparently Napoli maintain the option to buy parameters were triggered and say we owe them money. We disagree because he was pants. http://sportwitness.co.uk/serie-side-believe-watford-owe-money-loan-post-transfer-window-confusion/
