I'm a bit meh over the Hardys.

I used to watch TNA a lot. Their broken gimmick is subject to legal challenge and that was really all they were bringing new. Even though now clean Jeff can't travel to many countries outside the US including here.
I think it's just an interim thing like the Dudley boys was. Good match though with the usual spots.

I was disappointed that we saw a card full of old part timers when the kickoff show had some very good talent on offer and for god sake stop doing the music breaks. No-one is interested.

Orton needs to **** off now. He's the most boring wrestler in a decade. The match should have been Harper vs Wyatt. Harper is a beast.

Cena & Booby Bella vs Mizz/Maryse was better than expected. I miss Maryse's music. The proposal **** at the end was ff through. Miz is massively underrated.
    Lesnar Oldberg was as expected.

Again I felt sorry for the ladies that had a couple of short cluster**** multiple entry matches.

Looking forward to my RAW recording tonight. Hoping for some debuts and surprises, it's normally the best RAW of the year apart from the UK ones.

I really, really hope they back off on the Balor push this time. People complain about Reigns' push yet this clown walked in and had it all handed to him on the main roster within literally minutes.

Just another indy darling who isn't anywhere near as good as some would try and lead you to believe. Average in the ring, 35 so not the "young up and comer" people make him out to be, can't talk worth a damn and his gimmick is completely nonsensical and shallow.

It seems to be the done thing now to instantly drool over indy talent and sh*t on almost everyone else.

I like Balor - but I agree he's nowhere near ready for the monster level push it seems he's going to get. It seems a no-brainer to reform the Bullet Club soon, and have a slow burn where him and AJ Styles jostle for position, and have the group end up turning on Balor. Then he's at least starting to earn his spot, and would have some cracking matches with AJ (who could have a good match with a broom).

They really have to push the reigns heel turn angle now. The crowd dislike him, have him take out some popular faces and his transformation to the dark side will be complete.

I want The Legend Killer back so bad.

Saw it a mile off. US viewing is down. It's why they're pandering to the UK & now India.
    Boreton can sod off already.

If you haven't seen it checkout the UK championship match on NXT takeover. Tyler Bate defending against Pete Dunne. Match of the year imho.

Wrestling will never be as good as it use to be. LOD, NOD, APA, Edge and Christian, The Rock, Stone Cold, Mankind, HHH, Undertaker, DX, Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit, British Bulldog, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Kurt Angle, The Godfather, Ahmed Johnson, Mark Henry, Viscera to name but a few.

Mark Henry " Mr Ratings" seriously?

WWE has got lazy because it has no serious competition and the creative is all over the shop because Vince can't let it go.

That being said NXT has been excellent for the last 5 years, despite losing all of it's top stars. Once Vince shuffles on I think we'll be in good hands.
The british wrestling scene is producing some top talent and there's a lot of good independent stuff as well.
Even TNA has had the odd sparkle of brilliance in the last couple of years.

WWE is kids entertainment. There's good wrestling out there, just not WWE.

WWE stopped being fun after Daniel Bryan won the title after the long storyline with him against The Authority.

Since then, there's been no stories. It's essentially acrobatics in the ring and fake fighting with no emotional connection. Sure, you'll get the 'I hate you and I'm going to get you' stuff but nothing to make it the 'soap that was cool' that it used to be.

Laziness perhaps, but it's definitely an overabundance of writers who don't understand the business and performers that don't really get it. People say Vince is stuck in the past, I disagree, he has changed with the times. If he hadn't, we'd still likely have characters prioritised over acrobatics.

For example, of the NXT callups, (if you haven't watched NXT), how much do you know about them? I know that Nakamura's the 'king of strong style' and has a cool intro. That's it. Because the WWE caters to the WWE Network audience now and that alone, they have no need to explain who these characters are to the casual audience, which is what made wrestling as big as it is today.

Will Triple H change that? Can't see it, his NXT is a lot of flying around and minimal emotional connection.

If you're a fan of that, fine, but the casual audience isn't. I remember in the late 90s I used to fast forward a lot of matches because the matches themselves didn't really matter. Hogan/Rock at WM18 was not a technical masterpiece yet is revered as one of the great matches, because of the build up, the personalities and the story.

There are no stories anymore and that's why it's unbearable these days. If Matt Hardy brings his Broken gimmick back, perhaps I'll tune in, but will the WWE give him the freedom TNA did, probably not.

Why watch a bunch of fake fighting when you can watch the real thing in MMA or boxing?

You're right. It's a bloke's soap opera. I can appreciate the athleticism and skill. I watch for the wrestlers calling the spots etc.

I enjoy NXT becasue the wrestlers are actively going at it to impress. They seem to tone it down and lose a lot of character when they hit the main roster.

I've always been a bit meh regarding Nakamura.
Elias Sampson I absolutely hated in NXT but that's one example where a wrestler has actually come across and performed better.

Look at the match series between Sammi Zayn and Cesaro from a couple of years ago. They were epic. Now both are pretty much 2nd tier or worse.

Asuka will be interesting. She's overdue a call up but I just can't see where she fits in on the main roster. The only credible opposition is Charlotte or Paige and I seriously doubt if we'll ever see Paige again. Becky and Bayley have been pretty much dumped. Although I do think Nia Jax has massively improved. Still needs work though.

    Decidedly meh at the moment.

TNA showed Slamiversary (Their version of Wrestlemania) at the weekend. some of the matches were epic. I'd say best I've seen in a good couple of years. Commentry and production values were horific however.
    Scott Steiner!!!!!

The tag team match was particularly good.

As with most PPVs the "main event" was a let down. Del Rio can GFHS

Slamiversary is probably on Spike Tv's (Channels 5) catchup service if you've got a spare 3 hours.

I will have to give it a look, I always enjoyed the actual wresting on TNA, it was just the story lines and writing was so bad. I have actually started watching more Ring of Honor recently, their weekly show is free on there website, and for 8 bucks a month or 60 bucks a year you can get their entire back catalog from 2014 till now

TNA is no more, guys. It's GFW now.

Hopefully they finally find a true identity now as their branding and marketing has been an absolute mess for years. Even now as they've become GFW they haven't exactly made the changes crystal clear, but the company/promotion is definitely now GFW and the weekly show has reverted back to being named "Impact" rather than "Impact Wrestling". New belts, stage, branding etc. on the way apparently.

I hope it gets some traction because WWE is an absolutely steaming pile of **** at this point.

Not the best start having to suspend your champion over claims of domestic battery.

Especially when they've already filmed 5 weeks of shows around the guy.

Guess that's a little karma for Jarrett.

I've watched a couple of episodes of AAA on the frontrunner TV channel. http://www.frontrunner.tv/

No Mercy results went as expected.

Not really surprised by any of the winners, all pretty predictable.

Glad Brock kept the title though. Although Strowman is a man mountain and I have no doubt they will make him champ soon.

Glad Cena is gone. Tried to be too much like The Rock towards the end and funnily enough ended up going down the same route as him, just not as big.

Reigns has to be one of the most boring wrestlers of all time and I can't stand his gimmick. He will be the next one out in 5/7 years making movies etc.

Valor does my head in as well, as does Wyatt.

Would love it if Randy Orton could come back to Raw and fined his top form again. One of the best heels in the beginning but too much of a good guy now. Needs to go back to being a jerk.

Randy Boreton can go as far as I'm concerned. Just don't understand what people see in him.

The tag match was epic as usual. I hope Cesaro got paid handsomely for knocking both front teeth out. Bloke is hard as nails to be able to continue in that condition.

He is boring now but when he first came on the scene and was RKOing (made up word) people after matches and just being an absolute punk, he was brilliant and very entertaining.

I would rather him come back to RAW and start a big storyline with Reigns who I can't stand. Would be brilliant if Orton RKOed him 4-5 weeks in a row after Reigns has fought just to start something. This whole passing of the torch from Cena to Reigns is a joke.

Anyway on Monday Reigns will be the new intercontinental champion when he defeats The Miz. I'm guessing The Miz wants to take some time out with his wife being pregnant and all that.

Let himself go a bit though hasn't he. He'd really toned up in his last run. Still probably my favourite, managed to play everythign from comedy light relief to unstoppable monster over donkeys years.

I believe he was running for governor or something like that, hence the long break. Yeah hopefully he gets back to his best, always thought he deserved to be champion for longer and more often than what he was. When the music went, i sat in my chair in awe and thought, noway! Then he appeared, it was like I was 12 all over again haha.

Survivor series is worth a watch. Some good matches there.

    Debuts this week
Itami gets shunted to 205 live Good he's done with NXT. Injuries and lack of character proved to be his downfall. Expect a quiet release in a few months

Paige returns to Raw with her own faction Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville on Raw. Mandy is green as goose **** but Deville isn't bad. Fills the vacant ufc/mma type character.

Smackdown do a carbon copy and debut Ruby Riot Liv Morgan & Sarah Logan. Huge mistake to make them heels. Ruby has a lot of fan support, Liv & Logan are pure babyfaces. Liv is coming off as a poor copy of Carmella when in actual fact Carmella has stolen Liv's character.

This does leave space in NXT for some of the excellent callups from the Mae Young classic. Ember moon stays champ in much the same way as Bailey did to head the division with a bit of experience.

Excited for the Women's Royal Rumble. In fact it's my highlight of the year, waiting to see who the suprise entrants will be so I avoid spoilers as much as possible.

There's enough ladies if you include NXT and the Mae Young Classic entrants plus a couple of surprises . I'm hoping we'll see Lita & Eve who are both still under contract and fit enough to compete but I bet it'll be Bella 1/2 and probably Shayna Bazler. Rhonda Rousey is a possible as well and I'd really like WWE to sign Rosemary from TNA.

For laughs they should get Santina Merrela or Dress James Ellsworth up for a speedy elimination.

I hope that it's won by Becky Lynch though.

My favourite Ppv of the year. Looking forward to the royal rumble, would like to see a blast from the past win the women’s royal rumble like Beth Phoenix or Natalya. In the men’s match I have a funny feeling Cena might win, although I would love a Jericho return and win.
