Roy just makes himself look ridiculous. Just admit that he thinks Walcott is bobbins these days and nobody will disagree.
...................Hart.................... ............................................. Walker...Cahill...Smalling...Rose ............................................. ...........Dier.........Drinkwater.... ............................................. Sturridge........Alli.............Kane ............................................. ...................Vardy..................
Looks good, but Roy will go for a front 6 of: Henderson, Wilshire Lallana, Rooney, Alli Kane I imagine?
I think Sturridge would have a decent claim for a squad place but agree with the rest of that list. In a way I don't begrudge Rashford on the list, he's young and plays without fear and to an extent an unknown element to other nations (although the Welsh have probably heard of him ) but I do begrudge Rooney. He's been bang average for years now but this season he's been below average and is only included because he is living off of his past.
Let's play 4-4- ****ing-2. Enough of this fancy b*llocks, get the ball up to Kane and Vardy and we'll win this tinpot tournament.
Rooney has looked a lot better recently since slotting a bit deeper. Still should only be a bench player. I do not get the hate for Rashford. He is being called up because he is the most like for like replacement for Welbeck. He is quick, a good dribbler, works hard defensively and plays without fear (so perhaps an improvement on Welbeck then...). He's been a better player than Lallana recently, anyway. He probably will not go to the Euros, but it is worth giving him a shot to claim a place. Wilshire has started one match this season. How on earth can you go to the Euros after that??
Also... Like this post if you want to be part of a forum sweepstake. If there's enough interest, I will set one up.
There's no hate for Rashford but he doesn't deserve a call up above Defoe and, yes, Deeney if it's on merit. I agree about Lallana. Dunno what people see in him.
But Rashford plays as an inside forward off the wing. Defoe is a striker and has to compete with Vardy, Kane, Sturridge and Rooney, and whilst you might feel he deserves a place ahead of Rooney, Rooney was always going to get the nod. Rashford is effectively competing with Lallana, Sterling, Townsend and maybe Alli/ Vardy/ Sturridge. At least 2 of those will not go to the Euros you would think. You can see how he is a more natural replacement out wide for Wellbeck than any of those who were not brought along.

As a like for like replacement for Wellbeck as inside forward, would you rather have Sturridge or Rashford? If it's Sturridge, then why no have Defoe as back up for the striker? I don't see Rashford as competing with Sterling and Lallana.
Love how we're sat here debating whether we should take the likes of Defoe, Noble, Rashford and Drinkwater, while Spain leave out Juan Mata, Javi Martinez, and Diego Costa - each of whom would have a decent shout for saying they were our best player. We're terrible.
Wikipedia says that's his squad number. Going with it? Know anywhere cheaper than JD to get shirt? £55 is a **** take

Judging on their form over the last ten games, I'd take Rashford over all of them. I'd probably also take Sterling as he gives us natural width.
Just seen this on BBC Sportsday for anyone who is planning on going to Lens for the England v Wales match
They're trying to put off people without tickets from visiting as it's such a small place. They won't be able to deal with the numbers. I'm staying in Lille and getting the train down to the game. Will probably leave a bit later now...
They done the same there in 1998 for when we(England) played Colombia. Everyone was buying crates of Calais' finest from the back of transit vans and the old bill seemed ok with it until later in the day when they decided enough was enough and moved everyone on, smashing my fresh crate in the process & giving me a kick in. Don't mess with the French old bill!!
