I would like to see a Spitting Image sketch of St Eddie smiling like the Cheshire Cat and Neil frowning for Scotland. Quique is telling them both they are 'amazing'.

Wrong. He can't talk about these managers because they are not Watford managers yet. But they have the qualities that we want and love.

And there you have it. Always amuses me how supporters are always looking for reasons for why their team isn't doing better. Fairly natural reaction obviously but the simple fact is that at this moment in time there are 17 better teams in the league than Norwich. If you take it in the context of 92 teams that's a pretty good effort. Sure Bournemouth, Leicester and ourselves are somewhat upsetting the "big club" boat but in reality what do supporters expect? There is only room for 20 at the top of which only 17 will stay.

I don't think it's any more complicated than that. Can you change things to improve a situation? Maybe. But at some point (reached already?) most players become much of a muchness. A handful will be World class and quite a few, how shall I say it, will not. The clubs that survive will be the ones prepared for the rocky road ahead because for most clubs the Premier League stay is going to be a short one.

But it does help if you get the right head coach in. There isn't a huge difference in the playing staff of Bournemouth and Norwich, just one is managed by a well liked, progressive young manager. Alex Neil just seems miserable and tactically limited.

Norwich throw away a 2 goal lead...

In other news how on earth did Everton lose this?

Well massive win for Sunderland and they look very good actually.

Norwich just cannot defend which is something WBA can do very well.

Bournemouth are maybe just too open at times?

I'm no world class coach, but if I was to take a wild stab I'd say it's because West Brom scored and Everton didn't.

It's an interesting fight down the bottom, and with us now 12 points above the bottom 3, i'm enjoying watching it!

I can see Bournemouth being dragged in as Allardyce is starting to make his mark at Sunderland, plus I can't see Newcastle going down with the side they've now got, they will start to score goals.

Villa, Norwich and Bournemouth for me.

Would be ****ing hilarious if we lose on the last day to Sunderland in the last minute and it sends Bournemouth down. Please let this happen!

I always though Norwich were a club that were happy to yo-yo, their owners never spend enough to stay up but at the same time it means they will always be a large, stable, championship club at worst. Frustrating for the fans I'm sure but thats pretty much the crux of it, their players aren't good enough and their owners don't have the inclination to change it.

If that happened and it was in the slightest of ways on purpose, the faux "rivalry we have with muff will become a proper one no doubt. Even still I can't imagine it'll be on purpose if this scenario does play out. It'll most likely be Nyom having an opportunity to clear the ball, but he faffs about with it, giving the ball away to a Sunderland player and they score

  18. Newcastle playing themselves into the drop zone on GD. Outstanding Shteeve.

Even a two goal defeat would have seen them drop into the zone TBF but their result along with a couple of others involving the teams down the bottom show how much better we seem to be than a fair few sides, which is really heartening.

Toon clearly do have good players & some their play is excellent but they've got no real end product & they're poor at the back it all counts for now't

Watching the Newcastle game tonight really brings it home how good we've been at keeping things tight in the first half.

In all of our 26 matches we've never gone in at the interval out of the game. If we have been behind, it's never been more than by one goal.

We've never had a nightmare start like Newcastle did tonight, and been out of a match almost before it's begun.

A typical Townsend goal. I don't think I've seen him score a different kind.

I find it fecking hilarious that Naarch are struggling. Their fans were so full of it last season especially when doing the double over us. Back to the East Anglian Derby for them next season.

As far as I know , typical goals count the same as atypical goals.

    Correct if I'm wrong .

I mean we're there now aren't we?? In each of the last 4 seasons our current record would be enough to stay up...with 12 games left. Got to go back to 2010/11 when Birmingham were relegated with 39 and the time before that was 2006/07 when Sheffield Utd went down with 38.

So only once in the last 8 seasons would we go down with our current record.

I think 36 points with a low minus goal difference would mean safety this season and 38 points a certainty. One win, two draws, who cares? either way will get us over that line.

  33. a19tgg

Bottom 4 all currently have less than one point a game, so potentially 36 will be enough, almost certainly 38, 40 for definite.

Up the Cherries not happy with the referee tonight

''Looked like the ref was in awe of Hughes who gave the "dive" gesture every time one of his players cynically tripped one of our players'.

If it weren't for referees and gesturing they wouldn't even be in this league.

It's nice to see them doing well without as much "luck" this year but they'd do well to remember that...
