Granada have just gone 1-0 up against Sporting Gijon! Youssef El Arabi with the goal.

Both teams are in the relegation zone, so the important of this fixture cannot be oveestimated.

EDIT: Red card for Gijon! Come on Granada!

EDIT: 2-0 Granada!! :drinking: Isaac Success!

    EDIT: FT!! :sign15:

2.0 fantastic. Have to admit I thought it was game over after I saw that Valencia match

11 yellows and 1 red. Sounds a lively game! Great result. Change of manager seems to be doing the trick. Did anybody watch it, if so how did the 3(or 2) Watford players get on?

A brilliant, brilliant few days for Granada in terms of results. They are now up to 18th, having leapfrogged Gijon, and could go as high as 14th this weekend if other results go their way. Cracking work from Jose Gonzalez.

Fair to see that if Gonzalez continues in this manner, there more certainly won't be problems down the line.

Very impressed with Doucoure. Looks composed on the ball and works hard when he doesn't have it. Made the second goal for Success.

Great result! I said there were 5 quite possible matches. 6/6 points so far, great!!! Come on Granada! Continue this way!!!

Well done Granada. Your performances in earlier games warranted more points so good to see you getting some on the board!

They haven't conceded under the new boss have they?

Delighted they're going the right way as they get more money with next year's TV money.

    6/6 points.

And now, 11 matches to go, now we have 4 more games against "our league rivals", and our 4 last games can be a 0/12 (Barcelona, Sevilla...), so hope we use this positive dynamic to take so advantage.

20 minutes left of the Real Betis - Granada La Liga derby. 0-0. Betis down to 10 men also!

11 bookings between the two sides today.

Are you having trouble telling the two teams apart? Real clash of colours with that strange Betis kit!

    Yes, a little bit!!

    Aah, make that 12 bookings.

Could easily be another sending off here. Ref's lost control of this and Betis are desperate to get a Granada player sent off...

    Agreed.

Spaniards are an argumentative bunch aren't they. Always arguing with the lino and referee.

    Betis 1-0 up.

Losing to 10 men now, really poor result

That being said, Betis have been an utter disgrace today, been a long time since i've seen so much play acting, diving and cheating

    Unbelievable

    Granada's keeper now sent off.

Keeper sent off now even though it didn't hit his hand!

Every Granada game I watch involves at least one red card and some awful refs. Really bad result for them though.

Very poor ref. Red card to Granada's GK for handball outside the box but it was only chest, no hand!

And they've finally got their red card, which is not a red card (surprise, surprise). Granada's defence is woeful though

It's all gone horribly wrong. Going to lose to ten man Betis and their keeper just sent off even though the ball hit his chest. We are alright at defending but just can't score, Granada can't seem to do either.

If Granada don't go down this season, it'll be a miracle. On another note, I hope we don't turn into a Granada or a Wigan

Really weak from Granada at the end there. They were in control and looking good for at least a draw and then just don't even bother challenging from a corner. The red to the keeper should be rescinded but it was pathetic defending that led to the opportunity.

Yes, given their run-in, it will be. They've got two games against Espanyol and Rayo next- anything less than 3 points out of 6 will mean they'll be in a poor position compared to both of those teams by virtue of points and the head-to-head records against them. Should that scenario happen (which is likely given the way they've been playing overall during this season), they'd need to get a win against Levante/Las Palmas because the other games are un-winnable. Essentially, the only team that is realistically catchable should they get less than 3 points out of the next 6 available is Getafe, which can be done but will be very hard.

All this is based on the pretty decent observation that if you cannot hold out for a draw against a poor side that had 10 men for basically half the game and wanted to spend more time rolling about on the pitch than actually playing football, then your confidence will be massively dented. Oh, and their goalkeeper is suspended for the next game, a crucial one against Espanyol, meaning they'll have to play a goalie that hasn't played a league game this season. It'll be a miracle

Yeah but Arlauskis will be in goal for Espanyol.

  33. nisman94

Not even mate. Since Arla was out, Espanyol have had their first clean sheet since their 0-0 against Barca on the 2nd Jan (ironically with the same goalie as they're playing now) and won two games. Arla will probably be on the bench for the second game in a row tomorrow and will continue in that way unless Lopez gets injured/suspended

Udinese just gone 2-0 down to Frosinose.

Frosinose are in the relegation zone, so this really would be an appalling result.

2-0 FT. Awful result, and I think that was Colantuono's final game in charge. I expect a sacking next week. Not good enough.
