I actually think him on the left with Ake at left back would be pretty sweet but not sure who'd make way.
How about this, that I posted on another thread a couple of days back: - I have to agree that TD is beginning to wilt, he needs a rest! Maybe moving Jurado just behind Igahlo (or to CM in a 4231) and putting Holebas wide left with Ake back in at LB, might be a way to give TD his much needed rest? Any other suggestions on how to do it? Furthermore if we want to give Igahlo time out too, bring in the young Belgian lad to play as a lone striker again in a 4231.
It's certainly an option. I guess the problem is that, fatigue aside, the team really looks like it is getting used to the, effectively, 442 formation and with playing together. Seems QSF is reluctant to make too many changes so a change in personnel and formation is unlikely. Would love to see that give a go against Newcastle though.
Marseille have contacted us for Holebas. https://twitter.com/greekfootball_/status/684730756367839232 https://twitter.com/dimitrisvergos/status/684729649595838464
He offers something different from Jurado. I definitely think he's more of an attacker than a defender
I'd snatch their hands off. Looks like a good player, but don't like his disrespect for the club. We love our players and they should love us back - like Fessi. Moaning Minnie's who didn't want to come in the first place need to be shipped out, no matter how good they are.
He has worked his socks off in last few games. I want to keep him - Ake will go back so we either need to buy a new LB or get Holebas back on side. Looks like he is coming back on side to me.
Guess the club's view will probably be that they can have him after the Southampton game. Maybe/hopefully, their stance has changed after recent performances though.
In fairness to the lad, he plays for Greece, kept Cole out the Roma team and came R/U in the league.. Then whilst on holiday the club and his agent sell him to Watfird, who a) he's never heard of and b) are bookies favorites to go down! Then when turning up at London Colney in the rain and being shown a flat in Hemel he can't even get a game...... He's thrown his teddies, sat watched and we're in the top 10 and are for most parts are playing teams off the park... He's sat back and thought actually... We're alright !!!! So he's being more up beat and is putting a shift in!!! Can't honestly blame him so far and let's be honest, his run v City was more dangerous and attacking than we be seen from the ever improving Juryoutdo, Burgerhouse or Diamental so far !!
If we sell Holebas(can't remember how much he cost but it was low) how much will it cost to replace/ get similar quality. I would suggest a hell of a lot e.g. Ake could be £10m but even then doubt we would get him. Losing Holebas will be costly plus be a headache - we have to go until and find someone 1st. Suggest - working with what we have is better.
I hope he want to stay & I hope we keep him. I also hope Ake doesn't get an automatic ticket back into the side if Holebas plays as well in the next 2 games as he has done in his previous 2.
I think Holebas is much more a wing back then a left full back. Could quite easily see him with Ake playing too and tucked behind as the full back.
Hadn't heard of us? Hadn't heard of us? Well as it happens, I hadn't bloody heard of HIM! Cheeky git. He's only a middling full back, not bloody Pele. Imagine having a girlfriend who, when you first started dating told the world that she wasn't seeing you and had no intention of doing so. Then every time you went out together, whinged and complained that things weren't sufficiently opulent and luxury enough for her liking. Would you keep her on, just because she gave you a half-decent snog?
I was expecting my normal shut up response, instead it's generated a contender for post of the year with a mere 360 days left lol

I am Greek and to be fair I believe the guy is not suitable for EPL. He never was and never will be a proper LB , maybe after 33-34 (which is comming soon) when he won't be able to run and won't have motivation to run in front and score, that's gonna be when he ll reschedule his whole playing style and start defending ONLY. I mean ok alright. He was rated as the best player of Serie A at his position. Which is definately something good. A sign that he would be luxury at a newly promoted team. I don't believe that he was not suitable for Roma. They got someone better but they could have kept him as a back up, he is far too good for them and Ashley Cole is like a ghost in football world. What noone realises is however that in Serie A the championship itself is more defense based. If he made the mistake to be caught off position there would be players like Keita , De Rossi or even Nainngollan to cover his mistake. Moreover, the Serie A wingers , with few exceptions , are slow and pretty untalented in my opinion. Only few high class and fast wingers like Gervinho,Cuadrado, thus making it easy for him to come back from a bad positioning with his speed. However , BPL , as a championship is totally different. All decent teams play with good wingers, or midfielders on the Left/Right lane. If he goes up front and does not manage to return on time, this could be critical. Also , watching the last couple of games during Christmas , now that I had time to do something extra , and checking your comments, I find Jurado a bit overrated from the fans. He has produced excellent efforts , that lead to a goal or even confused the defenders so that others score, but I feel like whenever the guy has the ball he has maybe less than 20% chance of doing one of the things I mentioned above , and actually help , and about 80%+ chance to just destroy an ongoing attack with mistakes. I am not aware if this thing is a thing since his game #1 or just the couple of games I watched Surely he is a good player, a good add on the team and with experience from decent European teams , but... even my eyesight complained about what I was watching. Seems like he could use a little competition in his position. You could bring someone during this transfer period.
He is playing because Ake is suspended, however I thought Holebas has done well, a decent back up should he stay.
You have a point - but his defending is as dangerous for us as his attacking is for the opposition. Jaanmat ran him ragged in the first half.
Seems like the ideal player to have on the bench if we are losing, take Ake off and put Holebas on and tell him to get down the line and run at them. Iv been really impressed with him, hope he stays for the rest of the season.
quite possibly , if there was no better option available. Need more details of this snog and gropage prospects.
He's a very good player & I don't blame him for being pee-d off but do we need a footballer who throws hissy-fits & sulks when he's left out? I think he might be gone in the summer, there's other good RB's out there
Tbh - I feel sorry for him. He is a LB btw but in any case probably the position we have most competition for. Holebas has been great last few matches(not put a foot wrong). My worry is Ake will go back to Chelsea and Holebas will be peed off and bugger off. I would like to give Holebas a go in the team now we are safe - replacing him with same quality would be 10m minimum where if we can get him on side will not need to. Also once we have 40 points must be worth trying AKe at RB and Holebas on the left 2 top quality players vying for that position but in danger of losing both
yea sorry, I meant left back. Agreed he's been harshly treated but players need to behave when they're left out. Flores is not the type that puts up with moody footballers. I suspect Ake's getting the nod ahead of Holebas partly because his attitude is so much better. Reacting like he does just makes his situation worse.
