  1. That's right bring in homophobia, you are a pathetic idiot...tbh I don't think you know anything about WFC or even care, all I have ever seen you do is snipe and knit-pick on this site, I have never read a single constructive comment that you have written on here, you just snipe at people's posts all day...how sad and pathetic is that.....

  7. We've gone well beyond the handbag stage, we're on the stiletto-ing each others eyes out stage now...!!! ;)

  8. Annoying Bamford recovering for next game, though without Vossen will be a blow, half want them to be fit if only so they can go above Muff (as long as we win of course)...

Well the pressure is off Brighton after tonight's result. Something that I think is beneficial for us. They don't need a point to stay up anymore, they simply have to make sure they don't concede 24 goals in 2 games. They literally have nothing to play for. Hopefully their players went out on a pub crawl celebrating the result and will now check out for the summer. I would much rather play a Brighton with no pressure, than a Brighton that need a win in order to stay in the league. Much more dangerous.

    Well, bugger me:

    http://www.footballfancast.com/cham...rnemouths-rags-to-riches-story-is-one-big-lie

Of course, written by a fan rather than a journo. Still, nice to see some articles getting out there that aren't buying it.

EDIT: Muff fans' take on this made me laugh:

One of only five clubs eh? Shame the writer is a Wolves fan, so I guess that makes a mere 6 fan bases now questioning the slanted coverage.

Except that I saw Brum fans making similar comments the other day, so we should probably call that 7.

  20. It's so refreshing seeing an article not totally obessesed and lovesick with Bournemouth and Eddie Howe unlike 99.9% of the media, the feel good film and sicket bucket bit at the end was hillarious.

I like the one where the Bournemouth fan referred to the "Bournemouth haters" as jealous and under achievers..... Under achievers? We're top of the league and underachieving.... FML.

  22. Exactly you'd never know it from what crap they come out with, notice they've toned down their attitude a bit more on their site now, the media STILL haven't you caught on yet, they can't bear the thought of this fairytale going wrong, gonna be an interesting weekend....

Frankly I don't really give a toss about Bournemouth per se or how much money they spent to get to where they are. They will have plenty of supporters who would have been there through thick and thin and to deny them their chance of glory is a little pathetic.

If their penalties ratio wasn't so outrageously high I doubt many other clubs' fans would have cared, our red card at their place after 26 seconds was not only wrong, but the fact that their players surrounded the ref in such an unprofessional manner to ensure the red was chosen is disgusting. Then to put a cherry on the top of this, they play a match where they think they should have a penalty, concede one and end up drawing and YET the manager obsesses during the post match interview that the referees have been colluding and they haven't had the rub of the green really put the "fairy tail" into context.

The article touched on it, in that Bournemouth aren't exactly punching above their weight, but it is of my knowledge that if they go up, they are going to get rid of their squad entirely and bring in a new one. Can't say exactly how I know this but fairly sure it's true. Shows again that it's not little 'plucky' Bournemouth

I imagine our squad is going to get a considerable overhaul if we go up, as well. Probably moreso, seeing as we have the Pozzos and their network.

I'll say it again, let's hope all this mouthing off at Bournemouth doesn't bite us on the arse.
The time to crow is when the job is done. If they win promotion, they won't give a toss about what any other club thinks about them - same as we didn't when the Pozzos took over.

I know the nerves are getting to us all on here but I have to say we are not covering ourselves in glory in this thread. Who cares if Bournemouth are the media's darlings? I only care that we get ourselves over the finish line in one of the automatic places, now that it's in our hands to do so. And what's with all the personal hate towards Eddie Howe? I don't know Eddie but I was friends with one of his brothers at school and we got back in touch a couple of years ago. His brother's a lovely guy and I have no reason to think any differently of Eddie. I didn't like the comments he made about referees but I imagine the pressure might be getting to him a bit.
Why waste energy getting so wound up about what media coverage we are or are not getting (& a cursory glance at most of our rivals' forums shows that most fanbases think their team is unfairly ignored)? It makes us look petty and small-minded.

Getting away from the Bournemouth/Howe bashing (which though I agree with to some extent, is getting a little tedious), a lot of people have remarked on just how slowly this week has been dragging, and on a related note, does anyone agree that this is probably the strangest (yet also most exciting) end to a season in WFC's history (at least in living memory for me)? To know that we are this close to the finishing line and that we are totally in control of our own destiny seems kind of surreal, like it's almost too good to be true and knowing WFC one more ****-up is round the corner when it counts the most. Let's hope it remains both good and true come May 2nd!

The only situation I can think of that parallels this one was in 1998/99 when after beating Palace 2-1 we knew we "only" had to win our last three games to guarantee the play-offs. But even then, I don't think the nerves and agony of waiting affected us so much (I could be wrong, as this was just before I started supporting Watford in earnest) as now, as even if we didn't get top 6, it would still have been a great season having just been promoted from the old Division 2, whereas it shows how far we've gone that not getting top 2 and going up after it being in our own hands would feel quite a major underachievement. In all our other promotion/relegation fights, either our fate was decided weeks before the end of the season, or we only had an outside chance of achieving the former or avoiding the latter (as in 2012/13 and 1995/96 respectively). Two wins - simple as that on paper, will it be that simple in reality? Can't wait.

    Interesting if true: http://intothevalley.proboards.com/thread/17759/players-get-62-points-bonuses

Basically states that if Charlton get to 62 points their players get a larger season bonus, they are currently on 60 points, so a draw on Saturday will do nicely and put them needing a draw against Muff on the final day, which would be a great incentive for their players to get a result.

The more Muff and Boro and Norwich and Derby are hyped in the media, the more we remain under the radar.

Long may it continue until 5pm on 2nd May.

The funny thing is Muff, like any of the top 4 teams, could still stuff it up and not go up but the coverage they're getting its almost as if the media see it as a certainty that they're are going up.

Surely this sort of exposure should only come IF they go up?
