Sad news, maybe worries meant his head was not in the game for the past couple of months. A couple of weeks off now at least I would suggest.
I'm surprised he's not going back to be honest. I'm sure we could spare him now we're safe and it's one of those times when you want to have all you're family around you. Then again some of us deal with things like this by getting your head down and working to take your mind off it. Either way my thoughts go out to him and his family.
I think I read somewhere that he only got ill a few days ago. Iggy said that the funeral won't happen for a while so he might as well stay with the club. We all need to show our greatest of support for him on Saturday, regardless of whether he plays or not.
Ighalo not going to Olympics http://africanfootball.com//news/632017/Siasia-Mikel-unsure-for-Rio-Watford-stop-Ighalo?
The football component really isn't the same though - the Champions League and the World Cup are the biggest draws.
I would hope he's on board but if he's not bad luck. We pay his wages. Clubs wouldn't release players for any international commitments if they had the choice. To be fair he did attribute some of his poor form in the latter part of the season to travel for/with Nigeria so maybe he isn't going to be too fussed.
Good news for us, hopefully he will regain his MOJO this season and training with us is more likely to help him do that than galivanting off to the Olympics IMO!
I suspect, given the club seemed to say OK to this when it was mentioned a few months back, that this covertly confirms that Success has signed, as we would not want to lose both strikers for pre-season and the first few games. Couldn't put that to Nigeria until we had signed Success I guess.
Its interesting only golfers seem to be pulling out due to the fears over Zika - is that just an excuse to not fancy playing during a busy time for them with a number of big events coming up?
Not if they're under 23. As Iggy is classed as an over age player then I believe the club can block it. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/ol...-aged-under-23-must-be-released-by-clubs.html
Allegedly (!) the Olympics have banned a substance which is permitted in golfing circles, which means a number of golfers wouldn't be able to participate even if they wanted to.
I wonder what the rest of his 'poor form' was attributed to. How does the odd plane journey consistently inhibit his ability to spot a bloke in a bright yellow shirt who is in a much better position to score than he is? It wasn't poor form, it was poor play.
I've come to the conclusion that Iggy is a narcissist. His twitter feed is just constant photos of himself and god bothering...which is why I stopped following him...unfortunately he has nothing of interest to say except self promotion. That's where his problem lies.
I don't understand your reasoning here. What would you expect to find on his personal Twitter account, pictures of other people rather than himself and his family? He's obviously deeply religious and I'll never understand that codswallop but again, it's his personal account for him to post what he likes.
