Sure there was one but can't find it.

Billy Sharp 1-0 for Leeds. I don't know why but I get a feeling that Leeds may surprise a few people this season.

I've just watched the game, both teams were rubbish although Boro were robbed of a perfectly good goal.

I think that had Boro's goal been allowed, it would have been a long afternoon for the filth.

How long before this becomes the Cardiff 2014/2015 thread..?

Cardiff beat Huddersfield 3-1 this weekend.

Have to say I really like the Charlton manager. Both of his post match interviews have tickled me for some reason. It's something about his over exaggerated facial expressions!

Think they'll do better than expected this season, and much as I hate to say it, Holloway at Millwall.

    Insightful.

A few people I know have suggested Magath is trying to get himself a big pay off

That's a conspiracy to match norniron's one about Ekstrand (sorry norn but had to be done).

I really wanna see Fulham go down if Magath stays as manager. Magath and the board have thought that this league is so easy that they can buy some no marks from the lower Bundesliga/Bundesliga 2 teams, use quite a load of their academy graduates, buy McCormack & Parker and keep Stockdale and they'd breeze this league. It smacks of sheer arrogance and stupidity and it's being shown by them losing their first 2 and they're on their way to losing their third.

McGoldrick for £8M to Lestur? Bloody hell. Just a rumour at the moment but still... I know we wanted a ridiculous amount for Deeney but he's leaps and bounds better than him.

Desperate times at the Crisp Bowl I expect. A half baked Cambiasso isn't going to help either.

  13. Lol Deeney wasn't worth £10m and McGoldrick isn't worth £3m let alone £6.5m. What is Pearson thinking..???

I'd have to say I'm underwhelmed by Lesta's acquisitions this summer, surely they are not planning for next year in the championship already?

The fact that they're cumming all over the Cambiasso signing (despite the fact he's 34) on their forum speaks volumes for me.

I'm inclined to agree, but I do remember when we were linked with Alessandro Del Piero, Vincenzo Iaquinta etc that we were all getting quite excited even though they were >34. Cambiasso is only 34. Look how useful (or not in some games admittedly) Cassetti was for us over a 2 season stint at 35-36 y/o.

It's a bit of a step down for Cambiasso, so I do question whether his heart will really be in it or whether he was more interested in getting some PL playing time in the latter stages of his career, but as Miroslav Klose has just proven in winning the world cup at 36, some of these players still have a lot to give.

Yeah I'm kinda comparing this signing to the signing of Del Piero to Sydney FC. It's a new challenge for them and they should see it like that- what they'll really see is a huge wage packet in the final years of their football playing career. Cambiasso could very well still be good enough, but I'm not too sure.

From having played for River Plate, Real Madrid and Internazionale it really is rather a comedown having to play for such a small club like Leicester. Should have returned to River Plate for a final season although with Kranevitter there as the five they don't really need him.

Cambiasso is good, but a good DM player isn't enough to keep you up.

Some 'ITK' chap reckons it's nearer 4 million, but still....... Insanity to bid that much for a soon to be out of contract player and even more so for Ipswich to turn it down. That's if the bid is real of course. No better than the four strikers we have.

With the exception of Cambiasso all of our dealings this summer have been a bit safe. I trust Pearson to wring every last bit of effort and skill from them though. I've yet to see Albrighton in the flesh and Upson is of course injured and I doubt we'll see much of him at all this season. Hamer looks utter toss so I'm keeping everything crossed for Schmeichel's wellbeing this season.

Ulloa looked a proper handful against Everton and got a goal. I'm pleased with the Addition of Danny Simpson too because De Laet isn't the most defensively aware of individuals. He had to be scraped off the pitch after facing Piennar and Baines.

We have a solid core but I'm disappointed we haven't added some more creativity and flair on the wings. Mahrez is a bit flakey but looks the part. Albrighton has always had consistency issues. Knockaert is fan favourite because he thumps his chest and winds up the opposition but he will never be a player good enough for the Premier League.

As for Cambiasso, I'm excited. It may look like a rose growing in a dustbin but I think he'll fit nicely into the team. Not just a big name shoehorned in to sate the supporters.

6/10 for the transfer dealings. I think we'll make a massive meal of it but our first two performances give me faith that we can stay up.

Bringing it back to the #champbantz, I really ****ing hope Forest don't go up. Especially if we pass them on the way back down. Uergh it makes my skin crawl seeing them all smug as though they've won it before September. A delivery driver I have regular dealings with at work has been to all their games this season and always gives updates on how Stuart Pearce is the greatest manager of all time evz.

    Gross.

You lot have a had a good start. Deeney looks very happy and I have to say bloody well good on him for sticking with Watford rather than just taking the filthy lucre of the Prem and biding his time. Genuinely chuffed for you that he's shown such commitment.

Forest have always started strongly in recent times from what I can remember. The fun bit will come when they have their usual meltdown.

However, if they do not have a meltdown they will go up no doubt.

Fryatt, Assambolonga, Lansbury, Reid, Antonio and Paterson is a vey decent creative/attacking force.

Watching Leicester i think you'll struggle this season. You'll do well against the better sides, but badly against the teams around you. Still think you'll stay up as there is a lot of ****e in the premierleague.

I reckon we'd have gone for him if Deeney went, he's best mates with Tozser and Pudil too

Leeds are reinforcing strongly from all around the globe. The more seasons pass the more the Championship resembles the PL. Only a matter of time before it comes the Premier League second tier I think.

I think it'll give a lot of you pleasure to hear that Mr Dominic Poleon has been sold to Oldham.

Jonathan Bond and Jack Bonham both are now in leagues above him.

Burke as well, always been Birminghams best player when we've played them in recent years, he's started well for Forest.
