Even though it looks nice and the gradient means you are watching from a very good position, the one snag is the low position of the sun in the autumn and spring, wasn't that iritating to you or anyone else last weekend?

This was always my concern with the East Stand. One peaked cap and concern gone, (was only required for 1 half anyway). Everything else about the new stand was fantastic. The view is simply breathtaking and so much better than the Upper Rous because you're so much closer to the pitch with the same height. Now they sell beer too I'm completely sold.

A peaked cap, not a ghey straw thing. Behave.

Only joking. Personally I hate wearing hats so the East stand wouldn't be for me. BTW how's it looking underneath the stand? Are the turnstiles ready yet?

    Same here ;)

A bit messy underneath still. No turnstiles, had to enter via Rookery turnstiles and walk alongside the pitch. Could also enter via side gate where tickets were inspected visually. Small stalls selling coffees and snacks was busy, same with the one selling beer, but no different to the Rookery where if you get down before half time there's no problem. No TV's in there yet. Noticed there is a ton of space behind the new stand if extra building needs to happen, so very easy to make bigger. Lots of legroom but seats not as comfortable as the Rookery ones, they seem to lean forwards slightly which can be a bit uncomfortable after a while. Steps are very steep, enough to put off the eldest among us from going too high up, if anyone trips on the way down they're in trouble.

Yes, there are four of us and we've decided to move. We're currently in the Rookery with pretty good seats so it wasn't an easy decision, but as Diamond says the view and closeness to the action tipped it. The fact the top totty wags sit there also helps

Right on cue the TO called this afternoon to confirm we've got our preferred seats

Are you allowed to choose your own seats??

Pretty much. "Promise Holders" were invited to put in requests after having sat in there against Brighton, and yesterday the TO started allocating seats. My group were given seats a few along from the ones we actually requested. Same block and row though. I'm sure we weren't the only ones asking to sit on the halfway line!

Have they mentioned what they're charging yet?

It's free this season. But they haven't announced the price for next season yet - they will be proved between Rookery/Lower GT and the Upper GT.

Still not got a call about which seats we've been allocated, hopefully will find out soon.

"Prices will fall in-between that of the Upper GT and Lower GT/Rookery"

I've taken that to mean exactly half way between the two so this season LGT was £366 and UGT £474... So £420 in the East Stand for an adult? I'll be quite annoyed if they go any closer to the UGT but it's a bit of an unknown really.

I think the club should introduce more zonal pricing like other clubs now there's the capacity to do it. So cheaper at the edges and front of stands, middle pricing for edges of the UGT and middle Rookery and top price for the halfway line blocks in the GT stand and East stand. At the moment it's a right bummer buying tickets and finding you're left paying the same price as someone in a much better seat.

After the club confirmed our preferred seats me and my dad are going back to the East Stand, one generation fewer than the last time we were there. As life is cyclical, so is football.

Moving there myself now, Rookery side of halfway line, row O I think which is a few from the back. Buying a cap!

Sounds like you'll be half a dozen rows behind me. Will you be a noisy neighbour?

Against Millwall I was surprised at how many around me in the East Stand were joining in with the Rookery songs. I think the East Stand could well be a surprising source of noise.

Looking to move myself as well, when can Rookery season ticket holders apply to move??

For me personally, watching Watford play just isn't the same when I'm not sitting in the Rookery.

Funny how we all have different views about where we like to sit. I've never understood the attraction of the Rookery or the Kop for instance when you see so little of play in other end.

But having said that years ago I watched every game standing just up from corner flag between East Stand and Vic when I could have easily moved much nearer the half way line.

Sat in the East Stand yesterday - row P, 3 rows from the back, a few seats over from McClaren, who was presumably sheltering from the drizzle. Great view and a much better perspective than my normal seat in the corner of the family section of the Vic Rd. End.

After performances like yesterday it may be a while before that happens.

I can't help but think that ever since the Sheff Wed game everything has gone, including the East Stand. It was hardly full and even it was, it still looks like a shed. Jokanovic must take full responsibility for this shambles.
