VENUE: Huish Park DATE: Tuesday 18th February KICK-OFF: 1945 GMT COVERAGE: Hornets Player, BBC Three Counties Radio & The Shoutbox Watford travel to Somerset for a rearranged game to face Gary Johnson’s Yeovil Town. Both teams met at the end of November for the first time, with Yeovil taking advantage of a confidence shot Watford team to win 3-0. Since then, Watford have steadily improved under new head coach Beppe Sannino and will be looking to secure all three points to continue their push up the table.A win would leave us six points off a playoff spot. Yeovil, who currently sit bottom will see this game as an opportunity to try and fling themselves a lifeline to safety. Can see it being quite an open game with Yeovil giving it a good go but ultimately our attacking threat will be too much for them. 3-1. Forestieri set to be replaced by Park. OPPOSITION FORUM http://www.yeovil.vitalfootball.co.uk/forum/category-view.asp Safe trip to all those travelling.
I don't think we'll lose this one 3-0 again. That was just a bizarre result, but this game will be a good indicator to see how Sannino's Watford cope with Yeovil. I think we'll win this comfortably. Team prediction:- ................Almunia ....Nosworthy - Angella - Ekstrand Cassetti.............................Bellerin ....................Thorne ..........McGugan - Murray .............Deeney - Fessi Subs:- Bond, Iriney, Fabbrini, Doyley, Anya, Acuna, Battocchio Score: 2-0 to Watford
My FIFA Predicts... Yeovil 0 - 0 Watford Man of the match: Manuel Almunia Watford substitutions: 45' - Murray off/Iriney on 58' - Thorne off/Battocchio on 76' - Deeney off/Forestieri on Odds: Yeovil 0-0 Watford @10/1
Looking at the forecast that's certainly a possibility. Hopefully and early decision can be made. Edit: This has just been Tweeted.
Already in Yeovil and looking forward to this immensely. Cant see them scoring and think we'll nick it 1-0.
Good write up Drew. Having had a good start under Beppe and I am feeling strangely confident about this one. Can't go to the game sadly but do think we will easily, maybe 2-0. Not sure on the FF and Anya injuries but if they're out I would think it will be the same team but I think Bellerin and Casetti will push forward a lot more than they did vs QPR. With the game live on Sky there is very little chance of this being postponed
I hope you're right - but the forecast for the 12 hours leading up to kick-off time makes grim reading (heavy rain/showers and strong winds). The open terrace should be fun.....
Wonder what is going on this Saturday! It's a long way to go for a late postponement, hope we don't get treated like the Fleetwood fans whose game at Wycombe was cancelled 20 minutes prior to kick-off!!!
I overtook a wooden boat on the flooded M5 this morning, I didn't think too much about it until I noticed a giraffe poking his head out one of the windows #clearly #biblical
Well with an open terrace, terrible weather, a fair trek to get there, being played on NYD and it being shown live on TV I expect only the hardcorest of Watford fans to be there with me. (Says the bloke who's down there on hols and taking in his first away game of the season :naughty
I love going to football but if I'm honest not too disappointed to miss this one looking at the weather. Having stood on an open home terrace for years I know how you'll all feel!
As it is open terracing ... will they allow golf style umbrellas? or is it better just to wear a decent waterproof jacket?
Useless fact of the day: we're the only Championship club to have had no one sent off so far this season.
Anyone with those things can go and stand at the edge of the terrace so the rest of us can see the pitch.
Yeovil Town Forum (cider space) indicates 1062 tickets sold to WFC fans and pay on the day available. No local public transport available so a taxi from either of the stations required if travelling by train. Good luck with that on New Years Day. Should be a win for the hornets and please if it does get to 3-0 or anything like that can we shout in broad west country accent, oooh arrrrh its a masssacre, ooooh arrrrrh its a massacre, actually even if its only one nil, that would be appropriate. HNY to all.
Do Yeovil have keeper issues? I noticed Stech was brought off in the Huddersfield demolition with injury. His replacement was very dodgy and has only ever been a back-up keeper in his career so far and has also recently been injured. Should definitely put in a few early shots whoever gets picked.
