    Dear 1881,

The time has arrived, the moment is now, where fans are united and...

...ah ***** it. I was gonna do some motivational speech like that black guy in the US, Malcolm someone, but it's Friday night and I can't be bothered. Babestation starts in four minutes and the freeviews are only ten minutes long so I've got to make the most of it.

Look. Here's the crack. The lyrics are below - tomorrow move your mouth up and down until these exact words come out of it. First one to get it rolling gets a free beer.

"So come on feel the noise,
    Let's sing for Zola's boys
    We're going wild, wild, wild...
    We're going wild, wild, wild.."

    Repeat 47,000 times.

Come and find a seat in the section, you start it and once you're happy with it then go back, we don't bite

So come on cheer the boys,
    Watford make some noise,
    We go wild, wild, wild,
    We go wild, wild, wild

    I've heard otherwise...

Seriously, it's a long walk after 47 beers from the top of the stand to you guys. It'll feel like a marathon.

You've basically just switched the two sentences over. Look, don't make it complicated. It doesn't need to be. The original version works fine. Plus, it's at odds with the actual song.

    Now, learn them...

Nope, just changed it a little to the correct chant.

The chant is wrong. They messed it up.

    Slight alteration me thinks: -

"So come on feel the noise,
    Let's sing for Zola's boys
    Let's go wild, wild, wild...
    Let's go wild, wild, wild.."

Hi 'Orny. I would suggest another minute alteration. How about:

    An elderly man called Keith
Mislaid his set of false teeth -
They'd been laid on a chair,
    He'd forgot they were there,
Sat down, and was bitten beneath

Every poster on here who sticks a chant up, everyone has to come along and confuse matters by adding or amending the odd needless word.

It works as it is. The only reason why people change it so it can be palmed off as their own. Less time re-writing, more time chanting the bloody thing.

TVOR - the word "lets" is too frequent, my criticism in your case.

    Doyley - what Arakel said.

Hi 'Orny. I think it's great but it could do with an alteration. How about:

    There was team called Watford,
They had a lot of *****,
They couldn't resist changing, peoples thought out songs,
    We go wild, wild, wild

And people wonder why there's a divide...

OK just drop the "Let's" from the second line! And make it "Sing for the boys"

As for plagiarising, I have put up a lot of original ideas myself, and I never try to claim other peoples ideas as mine! I just genuinely want to help refine the songs I suggest changes to; and I only do that when I like the original persons idea.

Then there's a syllable missing. People are so busy!

Try singing it out loud 'Arry, it works; in fact it works even better if the "so" at the beginning is also dropped.

I think this is really good, simple but effective. It's a yes from me.

That won't get the whole section going though

I find this song incredibly irritating. It's a no from me.

You do your section, I'll do mine. Easy!

(if it hasn't been confused too much by busy people changing silly words)

What's the lyrics we're going for then 'Orny?

  28. Orny Arry

The original one in my opinion. See start of thread.

A few of us have started this a few times (always got sung over by the 1881), but people near us know these words already. It fits, it works, it just needs the 1881 on board...

I also vote for the original words. I can't see the point of basing a chant on a real song and then messing up the order of the lyrics. Seems pointless to me.

I can honestly say that I've never heard this sung once, I don't think it would of been sung over purposely. I quite like it though and think it could catch on.

It wasn't purposefully, no. You guys were just a little too quick for us!
