One team was of course outside of England.

 

Don't think he played for Udinese competitively so it doesn't count.

 

He did play competitively in a Europa League qualifier. And the actual ruling is...

Players may be registered for a maximum of three clubs during the period from 1 July until 30 June of the following year. During this period, the player is only eligible to play in Official Matches for two clubs.

So yes he can join us but no he can't play for us.

EDIT: and before I get a smart arse saying what about 'so and so'; the only exception is a football league rule on emergency loans so there would have to be a major injury crisis before that exception before that rule is relevant.

Well I was using Football Manager knowledge in which Europa League registration is different to League registration

 

The only definition in there which I thought had a grey area was 'Official Match' and FIFA even has that one covered.

Official Matches: matches played in the framework of Organised Football, such as national league championships, national cups and international championships for clubs, but not including friendly and trial matches.


Let's face it, it can't happen.

 

What's the point in that rule. Who is going to sign somebody that can't play for them?

 

A team without any games to play. For example a team might want to sign someone on 29th June because of an advantageous clause expiring the next day.

Vydra plays finally

So Vydra played for westbrom last night. Looks like he's got his pace back. Had a roll in their win as a sub. I'm actually disappointed he's back playing because I was hoping that had he not played by January, the pozzos might have cancelled his loan and got him back at Watford.
