Did anyone else hear one of the Sky commentators say last night, that there was a rumour that JB had been told he was going to be released by the club just before he was called upon to play in the game against Leeds last week? If that is true, and along with all the other reasons for his nervous display, is it a wonder that the poor lad did not play well.
A guy I know scouts for Brentford and he has been told that Bonham is joining them. He also claims that Bonham was told the Wednesday before the Leeds game that he was being released at the end of the season.
Yes that makes perfect sense. We'd then be playing with an outfield player in goal. Deary me... (if this is tongue in cheek it certainly didn't come across as it)
We had that German youth keepr called Nigel or something. He'd have been able to catch. #bonhamdeliberatelymessedup
Oh silly me. Do the outfield players in the under-18's squad take it in turns to play in goal every week then? No!!! They have a more than adequate keeper in Daniel Wilks, who I don't believe is being released cos he's not good enough.
He didn't know where he was in relation to his goal on Saturday for Leeds second. Do feel sorry for the lad. Not a good start to his professional career..... is he another destined for Forest Green?
To be fair to them so they and their agents can put out feelers to get fixed up for next season before everyone in football goes on holiday.
Don't most agents do that anyway? Vydra is a on a 3(?) year contract at Udinese but look at his agent.
If he was told he was being released he could have used the game to put himself in the shop window. I bet his agent is banging his head on his desk now...
All the very best to the lad if he is released. I hope he has a successful career and get's over what happened last week in time.
I don't like the way divisions are announced on Football Scores anymore. It used to be read as Division but by the time we get around to the Scottish League , the announcer is so tired all they can say is Scottish Div 1. Who has he given a Glasgow kiss too this time ?
Not really. I aint the one havin a pop at a 19 year old kid who'd been thrown in the deep deep end. I spent all week encouragin him because that's what men do. When a kid makes a mistake you help him. A man doesn't come on a faceless internet forum and slag him off anonymously
I don't care how old or who the person is,basically he made two bad errors which were punished. Troy Deeney also made two big **** ups which cost us and the referee failed to award a blatant penalty which probably didn't help either. So I also blame them two for our failure to secure auto promotion against Leeds. If Bonham had been outstanding and looked solid then I would be on here saying get this guy signed up on a long term contract,he's gonna be one for the future. But having played in goal at a half decent standard and taken criticism at a young age due to some silly mistakes(which can help long term) I don't think the lads cut out for Championship football. I hope he proves me wrong and becomes a top keeper but I just can't see it. And also i'll think you'll find 99.9% of users on here are faceless and anonymous. If your that keen on knowing who I really am then theres always the PM option.
If it was me personally, I'd much prefer people messaging me calling me a canut and that I fekked up rather than messaging me with condescending, half-hearted messages saying 'It's okay honeybun you tried your best'.
So you blame one game on us not getting automatics? Narrow minded. You can't take one mans mistakes in one game for the outcome of a season. There's ifs and buts through out the season which could be discussed to death of how we could have gained one more point. If I had point the finger, I'd blame Zola's rotation in games vs Charlton, Bristol etc for us not getting automatics. Not some 19 year old with no first team experience.
