You may have noticed that we have gradually started changing any forum imagery that contained the official club badge, to our own logo. The reason behind this is that you may have noticed on the wfcbadgemoose twitter account, they're now asking websites/people to not use the club badge as it's copyrighted. The majority of it is done by us, but in terms of signatures or avatars we'll need you to change/remove if required to do so, so anyone with an avatar that predominantly contains the club badge, needs to go unfortunately.
so we arent allowed to display the badge of the club we support? indeed what a load of ****e. #****wfcbadgemoose
Can't we just say the badge we are using has a Hart on it, not a Moose:dismay:. Feel free to use our hornet logo for any forum related stuff.* *Meister reserves the right to charge royalties at some point in the future:naughty:
whoever at the club decided the central information point for the majority of the clubs fans are not allowed to use the badge is a ****
Life's too short to get too worked up about such things.. but i do wonder what the thinking is behind it? For me its a form of advertising.. kinda getting the 'brand' out there. Its also at no cost to the club.
Think the club has scored an own goal here, stupid idea as it kills a form of advertising However have changed my twitter account piccy ages ago because moose moaned , So I am not surprised ,just a little disappointed of this new penny pinching policy, mr duxbury is this another of your pearls?
Unless of course this is thestart of a re branding get rid of the moose , then we will have a new strip ,black and white stripes perhaps . Then next stage a new emblem calling us the UK zebras!
Wonder if they'll ask the football league show to scratch it of the window behind the presenter? wonder if they'll ask Yahoo Eurosport to stop using it. I've got a feeling they'll be told to do one and this will all go away in a few months. In the meantime, lets all be creative. I'll be handing out random orn prizes for anything that catches my eye.
I've been told that a change of the club badge has been discussed. I don't know what the decision was and I don't really see what benefit a change would bring.
I understood the reasoning behind the request on Twitter as to avoid people seeing an avatar with a WFC crest thinking that was an official WFC account? Fair enuff. However to extend that elsewhere can't be right, can it? Especially as the club shop's ability to promote the club colours and badge and get them out there in the local vicinity is pretty woeful! Posters above are right in that publicity, a sense of being familiar with "our club" locally is a good thing. Yet they don't sell much stuff in club colours, and the range of scarves, stickers and promotional ware is way inferior and below that sold by the rugby clubs lime Sarries and Wasps, let alone the NFL teams. That stuff can be dateless and classic, so all, their guff about "it doesn't sell" is cobblers. They haven't been trying that hard, relying on whatever reps bring in, rather than coming up with ideas themselves. Cheap, poor quality tat, sold in an area of some of the richest fans on the country...
Important Announcement! I run my own website (similar to this one but about some other interests of mine) and we were recently contacted by Hitlerpeas.com. Apparently any use of the Hitler Pea picture is now protected by copyright. I'd take down that cryptic matchday picture if I were you Meister. It's only a matter of time before your use of Hitler Pea imagery catches their lawyers' attention.
