He had one entire season out then a niggly season last season, so never really got to get back to his best. When he got a run of games we scored lots of goals & he got back near to his level. Staying fit is they key.
Abdi injury What's the point of him and his glass knees? It's like having an original Rembrandt that you keep locked away in a vault, never to see the light of day. In the championship we could nearly justify him as he'd have an influence over the games he did actually play in - but I just can't see it washing in the Premier. It'll get old very quickly.
I love the bloke as much as the next person, but for all we get to see him it feels like a long distance relationship - and we all know they don't work.
And especially if the lady WANTS to do them. It's just the ecstasy of it all - like a drug and you can't wait for the next visit, Come back Almen we love you ;-)
I think it's a fair point to raise. He is proving to be horribly injury prone. However as 1 out of a 25 man squad I don think you can argue with his selection and that's good enough for me. Maybe if he doesn't appear at all this year we reassess next summer but for now it's a no brainier.
Surprised you popped up, how wonderfully fickle. It is getting boring yes but he is a brilliant player who just signed a 3 year deal and deserves the chance to prove himself in the Prem before we write him off. Same set of fans who said Abdi is the best midfielder in the league and could easily player Premier League football. Lol.
He is injury prone, that much has become apparent. However you show me a slicker passer of the ball in a Watford shirt? He is a sensational player, cracking goals, effort and passing. Has to be in the squad and has to play when fit.
The Premier League Fantasy League says he has a 75% chance of playing... Abdi is our best player, luckily we have cover for him this season.
Can't remember Jamie Hand having many injuries. Abdi is the classiest football since the 1980s in a Watford shirt. If he plays 20 matches out of 38 he could be the difference between success and failure
It's a fair point but we do significantly play better when he's on the pitch so its worth keeping him. Hopefully with Jurado we won't have to rely on him so much this year
Att. Almen Abdi I couldn't help notice what great leapers our opponents are at F.K's and I also dreamed of Fulham ... the rest my man, is up to you...
Someone will pass the message ... it was the first thing I noticed in their game against EFC, I think they wear Moonboots!
Even if the keeper saves it we'll have Super Mario sweeping in the rebound. Has anybody sent him the memo as well?
This Summer i would suspect is the point where a major churn in the squad will see many of the promotion squad moving on. Next year will be a critical season as we attempt to dig in and put down firm roots in the Premiership.
