Could all the new supporters, or people who haven't posted on the forum in ages or sporadically but now find it their new home post here so we can get to know you?
I guess I fall into that category. I've been posting on the BBC 606 (and later not606) since the dark days under Boothroyd, under this username. In short, I chose to come here now because this seemed the best place to talk about the takeover. Not so much because of any ITK users, but because it's active, and because of informative comments from fans of other clubs the Pozzos own.
I have been reading and not really posting on the boards for 2 years. I have only been able to go to Watford games on 3 or 4 occasions a season for the last 2 years due to work commitments. I brought a season ticket in April for me and my 4 year old daughter after taking her to games and my work days changing allowing me to be free on Saturdays. This is the first season ticket I have had since 2002-2003 where i was an everpresent at home and away games from 1997-2003. Due to moving away to Nairobi and not having a season ticket, I felt unable to really add comments as I was just an obsever from afar but now i go more regularly and am able to keep up with news etc due to being back in the country, I feel more confident in expressing my views. This forum has helped keep me informed of information while I was away and seems a good mix of people to enjoy banter and true facts about Watford FC.
Hi NNW. I used to be on 606 as well, and when it closed came here. You always made very good posts over there, looking forward to seeing your future thoughts in discussions
It depends what period of time you're talking about buying its just since the end of season, I don't blame them, unless there is actually news to discuss its a bit boring and pointless.
I am another who has followed the forum for a couple of years but never posted. Finally set up an account due to being bored of having very few people around me who I can discuss Watford with due to nearly all my friends being sky generation fans.
I guess that's me as well. I've been reading lots of the threads on here for about a year ( I like to keep up to date with everything that happens at Watford). I've been a Watford season ticket holder for around 12 years, sitting in the noisy lower rous.
Another lurker here. Used to read the comments on the observer website, found the discussion much more balanced here. My dad also posts, here but won't tell me his username!
I am particularly proud of my work on outlaws this afternoon: http://members.boardhost.com/lutonoutlaws/thread/1341243905.html
I guess I fall into the sporadic poster category. I´m Gareth, Watford supporter for 34 years, the last six of them spent on the east coast of Spain I´ve posted very infrequently, but I check in almost every day. I haven´t been in a football ground to see Watford play for six years, but I listen in on HornetsPlayer and see the goals and highlights on there and always manage to find a way of seeing a game online, whenever we have a televised game! :naughty: I come on here to get a more complete experience of being a Watford fan, to read the opinions, ideas, gossip, jokes and arguments. I have an Uncle sat in the Upper Rous which helps too! I´ve read a bit about Granada and saw a few of their games last season (I only have Spanish TV at home, and see 99% of my football in Spanish) and they looked a decent outfit. I´m not a total expert on Spanish football, but I´m getting there. On the whole I´m very positive about the takeover. From what I´ve read I think that the Pozzo family seem to be real football people, who understand that there are highs and lows. I don´t think we should expect instant success, especially as it appears that changes are on the cards. Some changes will be seen as positive by almost everyone, others will be seen by the majority as less positive. Only time will tell on these decisions but the Pozzos won´t want to fail, so I will on the whole see the majority of the changes as positive ones and give them time and the benefit of the doubt. Going on their track record overall, rather them than Bas in my opinion. I´ve been delighted to see the Granada and Udinese fans join the forum. I don´t know any Italian, but my Spanish is reasonable, if any Granada fan wants to say hi or need any help, I would be happy to oblige, but so far the standard of English I´ve seen has been really good!
Lurker/ bit part poster. 18 years old, started supporting the horns after I moved to Watford when 8 and properly followed them for 4 years. Definitely not a glory hunter (would you really be of you're supporting Watford at this time). Loving the financial stability we're finally getting and possibly in a few years could see the glory days with my own eyes. As for zola/dyche, not too bothered about who is manager but definitely feel sorry for dyche if rumours are true. It's never boring supporting Watford
I guess I fall into this category, I do read this forum every day but don't often post, I'm am very excited about the future of this great club
Forum's blocked at work and posting on my phone is an arse. Reading can be done slightly more discretely.
Hi my name is Larry Hi my name is Larry I live in Stanmore. I have supported the Hornets for 14 months. During this time I have supported them home and away (despite missing my daughter). Since I started supporting the team my fortunes have changed massively and I now have a new house and car. Recently I have started two new jobs. One as a local publican (you should see the price of building materials at the moment) and one as a safe cracker. My niece and I have just returned from a Unicycling holiday in Marbella where we met some wonderful people. Anyhow i am not entirely happy with the new ownership but have alot of time on my hands at the moment so will follow the boys throughout the season. My favourite players were Danny Graham (£3.5m), Will Buckley(£1m) and Marvin Sordell ( undisclosed). Pleased to meet you all at last.
