Seems Baz is keeping this for himself according to the WO! When the Club purchased it, the cost was £750,000 according to the records at Land registry. He alleges he spent circa £500,000 on it of his own money, more like £70,000 of the Clubs. So apart from the alleded £12Million he is getting he also keeps the Pub. Asset stripping at its best. Well thats me never going in there again. Is anyone else going in there.
Long time lurker, first time poster. For legal reasons I won't speculate too much, but based on what people I consider to be in the know have said, I'd be surprised if he does better than break even plus the pub. And the pub is worthless without the goodwill of fans.
I'd still 1000% go in if Bas was running it and Simms working behind the bar. And Eddie Oshodi DJing, seeing as their such good mates
Desperately trying to cling on to a pub that only has punters once every two weeks (and none at all in the summer). What a ridiculous man.
I'll only go in there is Baz is doing his impression of Tom Cruise in Cocktail behind the bar - spinning mixers etc. Otherwise no chance.
What's gonna happen to Neil price and co now that potentially the pub will no longer have ties with the club
it seems strange that people would ahve gone in before the club owned in and earnd money from it and now its back to that situation they won't. Everyone moaned when it closed, now we moan because its open and not the clubs. Soon we'll be complaining tha tis has become an away team pub !
I understand what your saying, and I used to go in before myself ( as well as being the doorman) but the thought of sipping my pint and looking at Watford memorabilia and knowing the profit is going towards bas new Bentley doesn't fill me with joy. I may a well go back to my usual watering hole.
I have never been in there in its current guise but i do miss the early 90`s days in there sing songs ,late nights , good times
I will be going in.. but Do you honestly think that Bas will keep it as a pub if he does not have the club any more... i have a sad feeling that it will not be a pub for too long and will be office space or housing in the future. Such a shame as it was always a good feeling to have a beer in their before the match started and having it missing for so long for it now to have a big question mark on its future again :boo:
So, people are saying the pub cost £1.2 million to bring it to its present state? What do you reckon it's worth as a piece of real estate? Half that?
Prob woth £400k at the most, but is teh clubs not the owners. After Baz comments who really can believe what he says. This is going to be his 15 mins of fame and he is just clutching at straws?
I just drove past the pub and it looks closed!! could not see anyone and was dark through the doors and there shut!! I thought it was open full time from the beginning of the Euro's!!
