Going to decide this weekend. Loved Turkey last year so really would like to go back again if I can Mrs Diamond to stop spending our hard earned.

As per my previous post, Turkey has never appealed to me before but so many people that have been said they really enjoyed it. What part of Turkey have you been to?

Yeah, went there consecutive years when kids were 1 & 3 in 2011/12 - perfect family holiday really even though weather wasn't good either year (both times in June so just unfortunate). Activities are a bit over priced but with young children not that important - swimming is main attraction of course and can get busy at certain times, shouldn't be too bad if its term time but try and get there for when it opens. Pre book things like bowling and what activities you do opt for as its cheaper and saves time when you turn up. The restaurants are all decent, cater for families and ok priced with deals. The supermarket on site is very good with selection of fresh bread daily and essentials and treats for a week away.
Cabins vary but all at Elvedon were refurbed in last 3 years or so and therefore very smart and got mod-cons. Definitely pre hire bikes (again cheaper & saves time)and with a two year old, one with a trailor on the back.

You'll have great time, see loads of nature, lovely surrounds, nice atmosphere, enjoy!

Anyone hired a caravan in Devon before? Thinking of surprising my girlfriend for her birthday, but don't wanna pay loads!

Woolacombe is a cracking little spot to visit in Devon. I lived there a for a few year, might be able to help you out with something.

That's what I was thinking Luke. A few friends of mine go down all summer and teach sailing, and absolutely love it. I know my girlfriend would as well!

I've seen some places offering £50 for 4 days, but I'm not sure if that's just park a caravan or to stay in one it wasn't very clear, £50 seems too good to be true! I know you can stay in a tent for about £20 but I'm not the biggest fan of camping

Due to my girlfriend (a teacher) having to jet back to New Zealand last year for the whole summer holiday due to her mum dying I worked all through last summer so this year we are going away

A week booked in Side, Antalya, Turkey

    Anyone else been?

And you might bump into John Eustace there. I believe his dad has a hotel there.

Yeah, his old man owns a hotel down on the seafront. If memory serves me right, it's The Castle. Spoke to his dad a few times when I was living down there after he saw me wearing my Watford shirt and he stopped me to say that his son had just signed for us. Seemed like a nice bloke.

Forza, PM if you want any info about Woolacombe or North Devon in general.

Look up Polkerris beach in Cornwall

They also provide water sports there, and a good quay to jump off

Headed off to Prince Edward Island in Canada for 2.5 weeks in August - it's where my gf was born and grew up, so it'll be a mix of holiday and meeting potential in-laws :-/

Thanks for this! We have one of the new woodland lodges so hoping they will be nice! Taking our own bikes and little one loves swimming so unless the wife decides to go to the spa and spend a fortune I should be ok! Looking forward to it now!

I've been inundated with a pm about this post..which is odd becaue I had forgotten about it.

The house in question is in Angeles City, very pretty, sleeps 7, all mod cons (washing machine, wi-fi etc etc). You can fly directly into Clark CMA airport in Angeles for about £450 return with Qatar and Emirates airlines. Angeles itself is half an hours drive to Subic Bay and 60 miles outside Manila.

Heading to Hong Kong in the summer to see relatives again and so was thinking of going there on the way back.

It's there or Aus but not sure I fancy helping their economy after the Ashes debacle (that and it seems to really expensive over there)/

It's not a beach city but Subic Bay and Manila Bay are half an hour away. Both are rightly famous for their stunning sunsets...

Some of the world's best unspoilt and whitest beaches are in Phils. Borocay is probably most well known but there are many more just as pretty.

My wife is from Bohol, an island in the Visayas a short and cheap flight from here. The Chocolate Hills are there

There are also the rice terraces at Banaue to the north, often described as the Eighth Wonder of the World.

Mount Pinatubo is half an hour away too. The world's second biggest volcano eruption of the 20th Century (which caused the Americans to vacate Clark Air Base in Angeles) is a trekkers, climbers, divers and cyclists paradise.

Japanese Kamikaze pilots flew their first missions from an airfield 10 minutes from here in Mabalacat when they occuppied the Philippines duringing WW2. There is a museum and a controversial memorial there.

I know Philippines isn't first on most people's list of holiday destinations but give me a day here compared to a month in Cancun. Of course you could always go to Vegas instead. I'm sure they have polystyrene replicas of all of this.

PhillipineHorn, what a lovely spare home.

You could probably get about 5 families from Tondo in that house and they would still have more room than they have now ...and they could walk it, carrying all their possessions, and be grateful for the experience.
