If you get a chance, see the highlights of the Galaxy/Metapan game...
    Ridiculous.

7 goals, a PK, a red card to a Galaxy star, a ref nearly murdered. Good times.

Big news, and it could easily be posted to the NFL thread, too.

AEG, all of it, is for sale...

Probably related to efforts to get an NFL stadium and team in downtown LA.

    Link here.

Maybe Beckham and Lalas will by the Galaxy instead of Malaga :naughty:

God I hope not. It's hard to say which is dumber.

Not last in that list.. Come on the U'

Coming down to it now. Only one team in the east has a spot locked up, while the west looks pretty set. Meanwhile the U are looking forward to next year.

G's have been getting hurt a lot lately. AJ DeLaGarza is out past playoffs with a knee sprain, Donovan was subbed out early for an as yet unidentified injury (yet he is still being called up to USA camp...), and Dunivant is out too. Having two of the four key defenders out is good news for all the other teams in the west. With that back four, the Galaxy are difficult to beat. Without even one of them, they are easy to pick apart. This season got off to a rough start and I have a feeling it will end that way, too.

Well it's coming to that time of the season when things start to matter again. Houston and Columbus locked in a battle to clinch a play-off spot. Honestly, it's disappointing that Houston finds itself even wondering about making the post-season after a good start where we looked capable of evening clinching the conference. 11 ties have been our downfall, lacking the cutting edge of a really good striker. But as we saw last year, anything can happen when it's play-off season.

Yeah, that is surprising and a bit of a disappointment. I admit I haven't believed in KC all year, but they have really done a great job. No matter what happens, I want Seattle and San Jose to be beaten, preferably by the Galaxy.

I just found out a couple days ago that Seattle signed Marcus Hahnemann, to be a back up, that's embarrassing for the rest of the league, I am sure there are a number of teams that would start him

It's odd when we'll know euro league Americans come home. They are given special treatment by the league, like more say in where they end up playing, things like that. The usual rules don't apply. I guess the league office and Don Garber see value in doing it this way... It will happen with Deuce, Boca, Gooch, Friedel and Tim Howard when they come home, too. I'm curious to see if Herc gets the same treatment...

Dynamo v Union tonight. Nothing for PHI to play for, everything for Houston. Haven't been keeping track of the MLS too much lately now that the football season has commenced in Europe, but a nice play-off run always helps stoke the fire.

Same with me. The 'caps have got a local derby against the Timbers this eve in the last home game. Hopefully a win and a good play off draw will ensure. We will be able to boast being the best Canadian team, being the first to clinch a play off place!

Like most American sports leagues, you only really need to follow playoffs anyway.

On the other hand, I can barely be bothered with Euro football... I just deleted my DVR scheduled recording of all EPL games since I just delete them as soon as I see them. I check in for shout box on game day if I wake up in time, then check the scores and read the posts of my friends on Facebook.

Galaxy play the Earthquakes away today. San Jose has just eliminated all competition for the Supporters Shield, as NY and KC drew last night. KC is at 60 pts with one game left, while SJ has 64 pts going into today's game. SJ hates the Galaxy, and the feeling is mutual, so I doubt this changes SJ's gameplan in anyway. I will be on a flight to Tucson...

Next week is the last home game against Seattle...I have to be in Phoenix the following day for a conference, but chose to attend the game, and fly out at 4am the next morning.

We are just waiting to see how the playoffs will layout. The Galaxy are trying to avoid the play-in game which is just an extra chance to get an early knock out...

I don't see the inconsistent Galaxy getting far this year, but you never know.

Fitz, at least we battered the Mexicans the other week, saw the highlights, they are dire. How are they going to continue in MLS, I seem to remember reading somewhere that they could potentially lose their license so that a plethora of new teams could join MLS? I know there is another potential Canadian side, St Louis, Orlando City and of course the expected New York side (would that still be Cosmos?).

I would love another Canadian side to join MLS, preferably a west coast one but can only see Ottawa in the future potentially if they do OK in NASL.

    Go caps!

Shame our first play-off performance will be over at the first attempt. What's it, something like 4 loses in a row in LA, not got a chance!

Don't be so sure, Super Jay has a 100 percent scoring record and winning percentage in one off play-off.

Looks like Freddy 'Adieu' is shoving off from the Union... I think he'd work quite nicely in the midfield with Juninho and Sarvas at the Galaxy...

    Exactly...

Chicago burned by Houston last night. Bring on KC.

Fun game, as long as you enjoy Chicago getting torched...they appeared hard done by a few calls, but that's life. KC v HouDy will be a fun series...

Meanwhile...check out the unidentified fan with Beckham and Russell Brand:

Well played LAG, I didn't manage to stay up unfortunately but watched highlights this morning. We battled well and look a surprise lead but it seems you guys deserved it in the end. I wonder how things would have gone if Jay had stayed fit and on the pitch though?

Fitz, good luck with the rest of the play-offs! Booooooooooooooooo!

Interesting little read on Adu. Nothing that's not been said before, but perhaps a little more sympathetic than most articles towards the boy.

As for your prediction Fitzy, I can see it happening.

Video montage from the fan's perspective of Thursday's game against Vancouver.

My friend Luis made it, but in LA of course that means a professional made it. He shoots Funny or Die videos for pay.

    Enjoy!

Nice home win in Leg 1 for Houston yesterday. Probably should have been a bigger margin of victory as well. They played very well, good atmosphere in the ground as well. My nephew got to walk out with the players at the start - he got stuck with Zusi.

Not so good for LA though.

No, that was a difficult loss on a goal stemming from a nothing foul free kick awarded in stoppage. Yes, difficult. Sets the stage for a monumental upset up in San Jose Wednesday. Right? Nice work with KC! Doing your part...

Houston battles to a 1-0 loss on the night, going through 2-1 over the two legs.

LA killing SJ so far, must be loving this one Fitz. 3-0 after 40 mins!

    Come on you 5 seeds!

PS: San Jose's ridiculous fan tag line this year has been related to the 80's kids movie The Goonies, 'Goonies never say die!'...

YES! It was a great time at the pub with some of the boys and girls tonight! Very satisfying to come back from one down to win on the road to the town that hates the LA Galaxy the most...GOOD TIMES

PS: there were still drunk Celtic fans there from the noon game at 10pm...
