4 straight wins for the men in orange. Looking good.

Dramatic 2-1 come from behind victory tonight against the revs, though i may start to develop serious lung problems from all the smoke bomb inhalation.

Ben, you out of school or just back for the summer?

Mike Magee done did it again for the G's...scored the game winner vs FC Dallas. No Beckham, no Donovan, no problem.

Ha...law school is going to get real world pretty fast. Good luck! Glad you could get a few games in at PPL. Where will you be doing your law studies?

Clark could be on his way back to Orange town. Making the most of the space left by Cameron.

Watched the Dynamo game in TGI Fridays last night and I thought they were fantastic. Kandji impressed me immensely.

Nice...Florida in summer is like breathing underwater.

I can definately relate to that. The heat is intense.

The Dynamo are very good. They lost the final last year to the unstoppable Galaxy last season, but had every claim to the title, and they are very much the same strength of team this year, with the momentum of the new stadium thrown in. I like the way that club is run. I expect them to be right there in the hunt at the end of the season.

Florida was genuinely a welcome relief from the Texas summer.

Kandji was immense on Friday night, but if he could finish with any kind of regularity, he'd be an absolute force in this league. I think we're actually a lot more dangerous than last year, in that we've added some strength going forward. As you saw first hand in the cup game, without Davis, we had nothing to offer in offense whatsoever. He's still an important player for us, but we've got a lot more options now. They've built a really classy looking side this year - Ricardo Clark is only going to add to this as well.

    Ugh...Seattle sodomized the Galaxy tonight.

I like the word sodomised, but not when you misspell it.

Fun win against the Chivas, 4-0. I attribute the win to TVOR's boy attending with me.

That and coach Arena finally playing the same back four that won the Galaxy an MLS Cup last season for the first time all year. Donovan assisted on all four, one to Robbie Keane, two for Juninho and the last on a set piece for 6'5" Omar Gonzalez.

Wednesday the Galaxy play away...and so begins the final stretch of the long march to the playoffs.

Glad to see someone enjoyed there last MLS Game.. In my last game before going back to school.. got to witness a 3-1 thrashing at the hands of the Fire.. Zac looked very poor in goal.. I blame it on his switch from all orange to all yellow

That makes USA 1-23-1 at Estadio Azteca!

What a fantastic way to end their nationwide Olympic Celebrations!

I'd like to get over again this year in the fall or possibly in the space between Christmas and New Years. We'll see...both the Mrs and I are working a lot and have new jobs. Not exactly sure what the future holds, as usual.

Jeremy Lin would make a solid creative mid-fielder

As long as we don't end up $ucking like the other Houston franchises, I don't care.

Good time to get the club though, new stadium, massive hype in the city and free from the apathy that the Rockets and Astros attract.

'El Tri' says something like "This trap is supposed to be for the USA..." while Olympic Gold Medal team guy says either "I should have stayed in London..." or "I shouldn't have stayed in London..."

    Mi Espanish es my malo.

We're playing in the CONCACAF Champions League tonight. Does anybody care about it? Can't say I've ever seen any hype around the competition.

    We should care.

It is almost never a fair fight when MLS teams are in CONCACAF Champs League because of the salary cap, but the DP rules have made it a bit more even.

You can bet the Mexican teams and the minnows with fangs from central America and the Carribean are out for blood. The goal is a spot in the Club World Cup, which I doubt is even on the radar of Euro teams but is quite compelling for the rest of the world. Pachuca won it all around 3 years back.

It is hard to find on tv but in my opinion worth it.

Galaxy play El Salvador champs Isidro Metapan Thursday night, then Puerto Rico Islanders next Wednesday.

Cheers Fitzy. Appreciate it. Wonder if they'd ever consider merging it with the South American version. Might increase the appeal a little bit. I see that recent years have been fairly dominated by the Mexican teams. I suppose if noting else, it's a chance to test ourselves against foreign clubs and perhaps an opportunity to do some scouting. Like I say though, very little hype around it and by the sounds of things, we may even play a reserve strength side tonight against whoever we're facing.

There have been talking about combining it.. but I don't see why they would want to.. they winner gets a birth in the club world cup, and I couldn't see any teams outside of the top Mexican teams, being in favor of it as they would have no chance going up against South American competition

Raises the bar though. Going up against top opposition is only going to benefit MLS in the long run as it tries to compete. Increases the exposure of the competition, which in turn means more money through sponsorships/tv deals etc. I can understand initial skepticism, but if the ultimate goal of MLS is to become one of the top leagues in the world, the added prestige and increased competitiveness of a merger would surely help them achieving this aim.

The prospect of facing Santos and Neymar would be a lot more attractive than coming up against some non-entity from El Salvador.

It shouldn't ever be different. UEFA has their deal, AFC has their deal, CONMEBOL has their deal...everyone has their deal.

In fact, the idea that it needs to be tinkered with strikes me as the old USA attitude that soccer-isn't-good-enough-&-needs-to-be-fixed.

Until MLS actually accomplishes something in CCL, there is no need to even thnk about changing it.
